I'm about to build 2 wiring conversion kits for someone.. I'll have a price in a day or so, but basically it'll be in the amount of parts+shipping+ a tad bit of labor time.. These will be quality, hand-made harnesses, complete.Let me know if you're interested in a conversion harness. Payment will be upfront to fund the parts..

"built" 47RE woes
LOL yeah. They should be here tomorrow. Weather permitting, I'll swap the PCM and harness in and see if it makes a difference. If it doesn't, then I'm just looking at it as I paid $100 for an unmolested harness to replace my hacked version. ;)

Understand your car brake system - General
[h=2]Discover how to help escape costly auto brake repair bills with regular inspections.[/h]When your car brakes (pads, linings, shoes) are almost worn out, metallic tabs will create a squealing noise when the brakes are applied to alert you that the brake linings are due for replacement. Heed the warning. If you ignore the warnings long enough, you can do costly damage to the rotors, drums and other components. This will likely lead to an unpleasant auto brake repair bill. Even with regular replacement of the linings, some additional service is typically required over the long haul. The surfaces of drums and discs wear unevenly in normal use and eventually need to be remachined or replaced to work properly. Advance Auto Parts carries top brands of car brake system components, along with a full line of other quality auto parts for your vehicle maintenance jobs. Why you should inspect your car brakes regularly: Your car brakes are something you only think about when they foul up. Why wait for these unpleasant surprises? A general understanding of your vehicle's brake system can help prevent a nasty auto brake repair bill and allow you to drive more safely. What you will need for inspecting your car brakes: • Clean rags • Tire pressure gauge Do-it-yourself difficulty guide for evaluating your auto brakes: EASY AVERAGE ADVANCED Estimated time required -30 minutes Help avoid costly accidents or auto brake repair bills repair by routinely checking your car brakes. Here’s how to do it yourself. The brake system works by your foot pushing a piston that pushes fluid through the brake lines, which creates hydraulic pressure that applies the friction materials against rotors or drums. [*]Car brake pad indicators are designed to emit a scraping sound when the pads are worn out. If you hear this sound or a grinding sound when you apply your brakes, they need replacing. [*]A car brake pedal that continually creeps toward the floor while you are stopped indicates problems in the hydraulic system, such as air bubbles, leaking internal seals or an external leak. [*]Most hydraulic system problems are from contaminants in old brake fluid, which pulls water out of the air. They can corrode metals and destroy the rubber seals. [*]Locked auto brakes do not stop as quickly as brakes on the verge of lockup. ABS (anti-lock brake systems) use sensors to prevent any wheel from locking up, and provide shorter stopping distances. [*]Inspect the fluid level in your master cylinder regularly. As the friction materials wear, more fluid is displaced to the wheels. A sudden drop in the fluid level indicates problems. [*]Your brake fluid should be a clear amber color. If it is cloudy or brown, have it flushed completely, as this indicates the presence of water and corroded metal. [*]Always use fresh brake fluid from a sealed container and make sure to check for the proper DOT (Department of Transportation) specification number for your car. [*]If your car brake pedal becomes hard to depress, check for vacuum leaks around the hose that connects to the brake booster canister. (See your repair manual.)

Car Waxing - General
[h=2]How to wax a car for optimal shine and overall results.[/h]Car wax: why you should choose your car wax wisely -- and how to wax a car for the best results. Different paint finishes require different car waxes. New paint, old paint, clear-coat paint, single-stage paint and scratched paint all call for their own type of wax. Make certain that the car wax you choose is compatible with the paint and finish of your vehicle. In general, liquid car waxes are synthetic while paste waxes can either be natural or a combination of natural wax and synthetic additives. Determine which type of wax is right for you and your vehicle based on paint compatibility and application preference. Advance Auto Parts carries an extensive line of both natural and synthetic car waxes. We have the right wax for you. Just ask us! Plus, we have a complete selection of quality auto parts. Why you should apply car wax to your vehicle regularly to protect its finish: Automotive paint formulation varies from one manufacturer to the next. Regardless of formulation, all automotive paints require one thing: proper care. Wax is a crucial part of preserving the shine and luster of your vehicle’s finish. Without regular wax treatments your paint will fade, dry out and crack. A small investment now could save you thousands of dollars’ worth of paint repairs later. How to wax a car properly -- what you’ll need: [*]Non-abrasive car waxes (liquid or paste) [*]Clean diaper cloths or terry towels [*]A clean vehicle [*]Shade [*]Patience [*]Wax applicator [*]Buffer – bonnets Do-it-yourself difficulty guide for applying car waxes: EASY AVERAGE ADVANCED Estimated time required - 1 - 2 Hours How to wax a car for the best results: save money by doing it yourself. Always use clean soft cloths or towels for wax application and removal. Never apply wax in direct sunlight or on hot paint. Clean and dry vehicle before applying wax. [*]Paste or liquid? It doesn’t really matter what type of wax you use, because the finished shine will be the same. Liquid waxes are easier and quicker to apply. [*]Apply wax to a small area using a circular arm motion. Advance Auto Parts sells soft applicator pads that make the job easier and neater. [*]You can use soft terry cloth towels to remove the wax but special polishing cloth works better. It’s inexpensive and doesn’t leave swirl marks. After the wax has dried to a dull haze remove by rubbing in a circular motion with the soft polishing cloth. Be sure to remove car wax residue from body seams.

Drop fuel tank or lift bed?
I'm wih these guys; drop the tank. I use 2 floor jacks and a 2x12 for the tank to sit on as it's stretched across the floor jacks. This is really helpful when the tank is full. Once it's on the jacks, I just lower each one a little bit, alternating, until it's down.Same for reassembly.

Headlight upgrade
Headlights on these trucks (non-sport) suck, period. the black housing style should put out a little more light with less refraction (if the light housing is designed properly) due to the non-fluted lenses.
