  1. @TFaoro looks like my track bar is in KS and yours has yet to ship :D @Dieselfuture, I did look into the bushing but the stock spring was tight and so i have not pursued it any further.
  2. Thankfully, the DOR track bar I ordered finally shipped, so that *should* help, and I tightened up the steering box. Hopefully this'll put an end to my problems for a while
  3. Better for towing... But I agree. Seems tight.
  4. @BBHD I couldn't be happier with how the bigger brakes are working. Definitely worth it. @Mopar1973Man that's a touch looser than mine is for sure!
  5. oh, I thought it was from CO. My bad. (clarification: I read that it was originally from Alabama. I thought it had changed hands enough times to be from CO before you got it.)
  6. Man that blows. You'd think that since the previous title was from CO the state would accept it no problem.... But CO is a backwards state, so no surprise you're running into issues.
  7. Horses that far back may exacerbate the issue instead of making it better.. In my opinion, best to leave it be and see how it sits loaded (your truck sure sits high in the back) or get trailer/truck 1-2" above level and go from there once you know how it sits loaded.
  8. Do you have enough travel in the tongue to lower it as much as you'd like to? I'd start there, but that's really the only adjustment on the trailer side. Though for an unloaded trailer, it looks like it sits as it should (to me anyways). When you get two horses in there plus all your camping gear, it may level itself out.
  9. Is the tongue not adjustable? Should be two 3/4" bolts holding the tongue in place about a foot above the coupler.
  10. Nope, I slipped off the radiator as it was close to 18 ft lbs and I jerked the wrench. Over tightened, like I told you before.
  11. Torque is 18 ft lbs on rockers. If you go more, you can run the risk of the threads pulling out of the head (ask me how I know) I went 8/18 on valve lash, as it quiets the motor down just a touch more. For TDC, the front cover has a little "TDC" stamped right above the breather. Unscrew the vent, and the VP gear has a line scored into the gear itself. Just line that gear up perfectly vertically pointing at the TDC stamp and you're at TDC. Moving the gear 180* so the line is pointing vertically to the bottom and you're at BDC and can do the other 6 rockers. I use the alternator to rotate it, just be careful to not accidentally loosen the alternator nut. From the front, the crankshaft spins clockwise, so turn the alternator CCW. No ill effects of turning the VP backwards either.
  12. Pretty good Nick!! Now let's see what you do with that divider wall ?
  13. Let's do it! @CSM bring @Me78569 along too
  14. Gotcha. It was a silver 2nd gen with 3rd gen wheels that I hadn't seen around before, so I was wondering
  15. Hey @BBHD, you're truck doesn't happen to have a Cummins logo in the back window and be missing the passenger door badge, would it? If so, I saw you turning left up Clear Creek Canyon today.
  16. Congrats on the new turbo! I finally remembered to measure mine, and it was right under 60mm.... Curious why the discrepancy existed at all, considering we both started with the same turbo..
  17. Thanks @JAG1, I appreciate that! It hides the blemishes well..... I'd love to head out there to meet up with all of you guys, but unfortunately that weekend is when (my last semester!) of college starts back up for me. So i'll catch you guys next time
  18. Propane is easy to mount. Personally I'd build walls to actually hold the tanks in place and prevent rocks/road crap from getting in there. Easiest way I've seen to wire the battery in line is to run the hot pin from the truck directly to the battery, then just unplug the trailer when camping. Is that the safest way to do it? Debatable. Mounting the battery is another question, in the picture above you can see a shelf above the spare tire that looks like it has a battery in it.. The rest is easy, especially the last (should be first or middle) task!
  19. Ok, I'm finding a lot of contradictory info on the turbine size online.. I could've sworn it was 60mm. I have a turbine sitting around, once I make it back to Denver I'll measure it..
  20. This is correct. So it's a 60/58.8/18.2
  21. Not much anymore anyways... which saddens me, as that little lake was where I recharged after a stressful week at Mines. Then life got in the way
  22. Well, we are *almost* the same way about our trucks, so....
  23. Good score! Better than Tiffany's almost most recent purchase..... an 04 Featherlite that had bent doors, a divider ripped out of the wall, and a floor that separated from the walls..... "but it's only 9300! Fix it up and it's a 16k trailer!" Horse women, I tell ya
  24. Man, this sure was a nice thread to read through. Glad to see all of your trucks/houses/lives beyond the forum! I'm adding two of my favorite pictures into the mix, the first is a Minnesota summer sunset at the farm I grew up on, and the second is a picture of my favorite "hidden" reservoir in Central City, CO.
  25. Blue Bunny in Iowa? That's Kemps country... (I'm Minnesotan so I like Kemps) Thanks for that link. I'm going to check that bushing/spring and see how loose it is. Might be my issue.
