Best Way to Dry Carpet INSIDE the Truck?
I've gotten at least I'd have to guess 5 gallons out of mine so far. Haven't checked today's haul but I think I've almost got it all dry. Like I said I think its from the evaporator run off since the water was all the way up into that rubberish padding on the slope up to the firewall.

Best Way to Dry Carpet INSIDE the Truck?
As of now it's been drying for around 3 days, minus the 5 hours I was at school yesterday, and it has mostly dried out. Once it is I'll start hunting the problem. Starting to lean more towards the water getting pushed back in to the drain.

Best Way to Dry Carpet INSIDE the Truck?
I meant with the front seats and console, mine seem to be spot welded together. Did you use dry ice to get rid of the sound deadening material?

Best Way to Dry Carpet INSIDE the Truck?
Did your front seats come out as one unit or individually? Also the padding you mentioned, is that the soundproof padding?

Best Way to Dry Carpet INSIDE the Truck?
The tube is still poking out of the firewall on mine and was properly draining yesterday when a buddy of mine and I went and looked. I like that setup I might have to run a hose like that! I assume the T fitting is the drain itself?

Best Way to Dry Carpet INSIDE the Truck?
Thats what I was thinking. It got a lot of the water but parts of the insulation and sound deadening foam were a bit wet. Gotta paint some of my floor a bit as well since its getting a bit crusty.

Best Way to Dry Carpet INSIDE the Truck?
Got to school yesterday and noticed my passenger side rubber floor mat looked a bit wet, so I lifted it up and loan behold my carpet was soaked. I grabbed some paper towels and soaked it up a bit while I was at school and hurried home and pulled some of the carpet up and stuck a dehumidifier in the passenger seat overnight. Just went out and checked it and it has dried the carpet but that insulation is still a bit wet. Anyone know any cool tricks to drying a carpet in a truck? Tried taking the passenger seat out but found out its spot welded to everything else and didnt feel like taking it all out because of the mess and it was late. Anything helps, thanks! EDIT: I have 0 clue what caused it, just checked the AC drain and it wasnt clogged so I checked the weather stripping and it isnt torn up or anything, so any incite on that would be very much appreciated. Thanks again!

How much to charge?
Just post on FB and say like hey anyone need any service to their vehicles leave a comment I can get you in or here's my number give me a call. I got a customer cause a kid who lived across the street from my gf was having trouble with his truck and all the keyboard mechanics were giving him bs answers (his truck is a 00 24v and someone said the oil from his rear main was from his rocker box, which isn't a thing on the early 24vs and another say it was the front cover blowing to to the back via the fan) so I asked if he needed help and he said yes so I went and diagnosed a problem and bam now I have a new contact and customer and I'm going to do potentially a rear main and a tappet gasket and probably a front cover.

You've peaked my curiosity please do tell how that can happen

How much to charge?
I'm pretty new to it as well and I've been charging $20/hr as well. Look at it this way, start your pay low and do a fantastic job because if you do do that and they see that, they'll spread the word on your work and bring you more business. It'll also pay off when the guy that's charging $150/he (like a guy over here is charging) screws up and the customer gets mad and looks for a good cheap way to fix it they'll probably get pointed towards you. Now obviously if you go bigger and have a shop you'll need to start charging more but if you're like me and do it in your personal shop (dad's shop) I just charge $20/hr and make sure I do a better job on their truck than I do on mine, and I do a damn good job on mine.

How Many Times Can You Use Stock Head Bolts?
What's your thoughts on sending the new ones back since the old ones aren't far off from the new ones? I haven't measured them but they're pretty close to each other

Is There Something I'm Missing With These Head Bolts??
Sweet!!! Yes it is a mostly stock power build. 99 3/4 ton I picked up dirt cheap considering it came with a new motor to replace the cracked one in it. I was building it for my brother but monday he broke the news to me and is bailing on me so if anyone wants a really nice truck hit me up!

Is There Something I'm Missing With These Head Bolts??
According to a quick google search, the gauge I have is for a 12v listing the head bolt max at 4.807in. whereas you google 24v head bolt gauge you will find a gauge that shows that the max is 5.2in. so I must have gotten a 12v head bolt. Plus I should have known because I believe a 24v isn't an ISB like the gauge lists and is used for, or so I've been told.....

Pure Diesel Power has them listed as, "98.5-15 Dodge 5.9L/6.7L Cummins Stock Head Bolts" so they're the right bolt as far as I can see. I compared it to a bolt I pulled out of the motor and the one out of the motor is like a thread or two longer than these new bolts, maybe even a 1/16th longer. @Dieselfuture got ahold of my buddy from Sparks, Nevada who is a diesel tech, and it appears that the gauge I have is for a 12v, no wonder!!
