Did my VP go too?
I would really like to keep the pickup tube stock if at all possible. Someone mentioned not using the push to connect fitting and just pushing the hose over the suction tube and clamping it. Will that lock out he air? @Mopar1973Man could I just pack it on without taking it off so I only have to take everything apart again? It will that not get the desired results?

That fancy push to connect was looked over last night and all seemed well. As stated already I went over all the connections and fittings in the system and thread taped and tightened them all. Can someone shed light on why it would only run crummy after it’s warm and not while it’s cold if the issue is air in fuel?

Good I’d like it to be like that! That still don’t fix my issues though.... any other thoughts before I blow the cash on a new vp?

I’m going to try to change filter and water separator but I doubt it’s gonna do anything. As @notlimah said being the issue is only when the trucks warm it’s harldly possible that it is air in fuel. Although there could be both bad vp and air in fuel I’m going to try to change filter and water separator but I doubt it’s gonna do anything. Never blew a fuse and not sure what fusenim running. I don’t remember hooking anything to the ecm. That connection is good. Reclamped it down very tight. Fuel level has stayed mostly above 1/2 accept when I fueled the truck 2 weeks ago. Filters have I think 6k on them. @trreed how many did you say there was? Yes I drained the water separator. Got a video of what they’re supposed to sound like? Iv been thinking vp all along because of symptoms only while warm but I got tonexhaust the other ideas before I cough up 1k. Im going to run a clear hose from the factory canister to the IP and see if there’s air in them lines.

Starter turning slow
How hard are they to rebuild?

Did my VP go too?
You wont be able to hear it over on my phone video I don't think but ill try... Here you go @trreed it is not doing what it did earlier so i cant video that exact sound. Thinking about throwing another Airtex on to see if it fixes anything but also as a backup pump.... I dont wanna throw spendy parts at it though especially if its the VP44 going bad? The fact that it only happens when the truck has been warmed up well makes me think something besides air in fuel. If there was air getting in wouldn't it be all the time and not at a certain time?

Did my VP go too?
Alright guys back to square one. Jacked up the bed removed pump and hoses and disconnected and reconnected pick up line quick connector... (It clicked into place) Loosened and retightened hose clamps on return and filler neck. Unhooked supply and return on pump and added plumbing tape. Truck is still doing the same thing. It will ONLY do this after truck has been warmed and ran for a little. in this case I ran the truck 3.5 to 4 miles. I did as @Shainer said and when it was doing it I killed the truck and bumped the starter. All I got was a bzt bzt sound and no 30 second buzz. Now I'm thinking maybe the Fass isn't working well? I am stumped now...

Would I benefit from getting a 1/2 to 3/8 reducer and short hose section? http://www.vulcanperformance.com/mobile/Product.aspx?ProductCode=PLC68 Right here is what I’m talkin about. Then just grab a short length of 3/8 hose and shove it on with a hose clamp.

Good words there buddy. What he’s saying is that 100hp injectors on a hx35 are gonna smoke hut your going to have egt problems. I’m one of them guys that isn’t trying to make my truck smoke but if it does let some out I’m not going to work my arse off to remove it.

Your saying you cut the quick connect that was on the fuel basket?
-
Did my VP go too?
Let’s hope this is the fix!

cummins no start
After I replaced my lift pump I had to crank my truck for a long time. Crack 3 injectors that easiest to get to. Also I assume you did the bump starter truck for priming the system?

Did my VP go too?
I’ll def look every thing over. I remember when installing the pick up line push fittings it was a struggle to get them on and I thought they finnaly went on but I’m prob wrong.

Did my VP go too?
@Shainer @trreed Of there was a air leak on the suction side why wouldn’t the Fass take care of the air separating!?
-
Did my VP go too?
Yes the fuel basket is stock! Now that you mention it my lift pump is rather loud and it sounds just like air going thru it. It’s not a smooth sound it’s rather choppy.

Did my VP go too?
Returned to the filler neck and it’s a yes to all the questions
-
Did my VP go too?
So far I cracked injectors and all seemed to make the truck idle strange so they check out. I am going to get spray bottle with soapy water to spray around the liftnpump fittings and filter canister etc to look for air leaks.

Exactly If you want tons of smoke all you have to do is drop a match down the filler neck! JK but I’m gonna tell you if you want smoke your gonna have to figure it out yourself or get bashed on the forums!

Did my VP go too?
Just installed 75s 2 weeks ago. Never had issues with them till the Airtex went out.

Did my VP go too?
Must not be a suction side leak then. Only idles shitty not at wot or anything above 1500 rpm. Talked to the folks that the po ou truck had replace the injection pump and they said they have their pumps done by industrial injection so I know that they’re a certified rebuilder andnits not likely that a bad pump is their fault... What would you suggest for tests on the Vp44?

Bumper plug
Haha ikr! I’m not sure I wanna get rid o mine though.

Did my VP go too?
If there was air getting into the system wouldn’t the symptoms exist with a cold engine as well as a warm engine?
