Well that’s very true because it certainly didn’t come from the lot running like that! Lol. If injectors and tubes check out I’m gonna be pretty certain it’s VP time. All the symptoms I have a are Vp44 failure related.

Going to do as @Shainer said and rule out what I can. Injectors are first on the list. I can’t understand why I didn’t have this problem until after the Airtex died unless it’s the VP? Surely if injectors were at fault the symptoms would have been present before the lp failure. I’m thinking I want to pull the connector tubes out and inspect them as well. I read a thread on here by @Mopar1973Man about a miss in his truck and it turned out to be connector tubes....

I’m going to try to crack each injector individually today if I get the truck out and it does what it’s been doing. So if I crack an injector and it starts runnin crappier that means that injector is A ok? And if it don’t change idle quality it is malfunctioning?

Another symptom. When I lug the truck it lopes pretty bad. I’ll shift at 1200 rpms all the way To 6th

Your correct there was a lift pump circuit out of range code. When truck is doing the nasty rough idle and I start out in second like normal it will lope reL bad and almost die. Injectors replaved for no particular reason besides they were old and figure it would boost some mpgs to install new. No driveablity issues. Always have 20 psi idle and 17 wot. Yes the stock filter was in place. I might try replacing that and see if it helps matters. I may try to do a reinstall of the injectors. Inwont remove them just loosen and do as you stated.

Makes sense. I thought that when I pushed the connecting tunes in it would alighn it’s self with the injecto? Obviously I got it as close as possible with my eyes. Another rather strange thing. The 1693 code is gone! Did the key trick and just said p done! Makes me think it was something to do with the code the lift pump failure threw. What’s the suggested way to properly align the injeoctrsnand connector tubes?? Also I never had this issue before my lift pump went out!

I was kind of thinking about the connector tune thing. I’m not sure why it wouldn’t be sealing right because I replaced onrings and all. Replaced injectors because old ones were wearing out. Also when I have the rough idle it will quite if I put in gear and start driving.

Is the following another symptom of bad vp? It only runs bad if I start the truck drive it and shut it off for say an hour and then it runs and idles nasty. When I cold start for the day it idles fine.

Another vote for Bhaf. Just pop the air box out and hook up a napa 6637 air filte to the stock turbo hose. Very simple yet effective.

Ok I read somewhere about a guy that replaced stock with a 3 turn box and loved it. But I am willing to stick with whatever brings top performance and longevity. I’ll give him a call. Thanks for the tip!

Checked alignment and it checked out nearly perfect. I’m thinking I’m going to go for a new steering gear to fix the awful slop. Would you get a stock replacement or Bluetop steering gears or redhead or what? Supposedly Bluetop is a knock off of Redhead and that Blue actually does a bunch of work for Red currently. How mny turn are our stock steering boxes? 4?

I wish I could figure out how the heck people are getting mpg like this!?? I get a lowly 14 everywhere I go. I have only 128k o my truck. I’d be satisfied with 18 19 mpg if I could just get there lol. Any advice there OP?

Did that and got one code. P0118 Coolant temp sensor voltage to high. Cleared code but 1693 is still there.
