  1. Shipped my ECM back to ACS yesterday. They will have it today. Hopefully they can at least give me some idea what happened. I still say it's possible their repair failed. But I'm sure I'll still end up having to pay for a prorated warranty repair. However as luck would have it, I came across an ECM with my same ID number.
  2. Can the apps be bad and not throw a code? I occasionally will get a dead pedal, left off the throttle and the it will be fine. I always just assume it's the VP44 since I have the P0216
  3. Currently having issues with my ECM. My ECM is a 3947912. Running a spare from an 01 Ram 2500 Auto with p/n 3946242. Works but no oil pressure gauge. I just came across an ecm from an 01 Ram 2500 H.O. manual with p/n 3947912, same as mine. I always thought as long as the id number was the same everything was good. But will a manual ecm be fine on an auto?
  4. Yes, definitely will be a task. But it would nice if ACS could tell me what circuit is bad and I could just start there. But I honestly don't see how I have a short. I have put another 110 miles running on the spare ecm and there are no issues. Just because my ecm bench tested fine after repairs, their repair could have failed.
  5. Based on ACS's reply, I will check the harness, but I think they are trying to find a way out of a warranty claim. What and how on the harness do I go about checking/testing?
  6. Reply from ACS: After reviewing your file, your Unit tested Good after repairs were complete. Communication documentation attached. Per Tech Notes - "There is a short in Vehicle, must check and repair before installing repaired or replacement unit". Repairs performed: New Flash Chip Replaced App and Lift Pump Circuit Reflowed CPU and Processor Flashed with latest updates There must be a short in the vehicle still. This is why you are able to run your vehicle with a spare unit, over time the short in the vehicle will damage the spare unit as well if you do not repair short. This is not covered under Warranty. We can repair this unit again (at a prorated charges of $75.00 + Shipping) or you can purchase a replacement unit ($699.99 with the exchange of your old core). However, you will have the same issue if short in vehicle is not repaired. ACS Attachments area
  7. I've been driving the truck on the 01 ecm for three days now. I am getting worried about ACS though. Emailed them Thursday morning, called Thursday afternoon and the guy said "Yeah, I got your email, our techs have been busy. If you don't get a reply by the end of the day you will in the morning." No email or phone call yesterday. I just see this going the wrong way and ACS saying they won't warranty the ecm.
  8. Sent ACS an email. Definitely an ECM issue. I just threw the 2001 ECM on the truck and drove back to work. Can't read codes from the old ECM since there is no communication. Only PCM codes are P1694, P1693, and P1687 Guess I'll wait to here from ACS.
  9. And apparently I posted this in the 3rd gen section................so please move to the 2nd gen section.
  10. Had the aggravating flashing WTS light this morning. Just drove my truck home last night to use for work today. ACS just rebuilt the ECM three months ago. I bet I don't have 300 miles on the truck since having it rebuilt. Not sure what to make of this. Prior to installing the rebuilt ECM I did the ground mod and upgraded the ground wire size. I haven't contacted ACS yet, but I will definitely be sending the ECM in for testing. Fortunately I have a spare ECM from a 2001 I can use but I just won't have a working oil pressure gauge. I am considering buying a used ECM. Does anyone think moisture has anything do with it? When the ECM went out it was raining and this morning there was a a lot of dew.
  11. Just saw that posted on FB. Very interesting. I'm sure pricey also.
  12. I have a HE351CW from an 06 Ram. The waste gate is seized on it.
  13. What about the SXE 57
  14. Definitely interested in the new grid heater bypass write up.
  15. If you need the correct switch let me know.
  16. Yes. I cut the VP44 plug and wires off a bad harness. Put extra long leads on the positive and negative wires to reach the battery. Basically to hot wire the VP44 for testing.
  17. Look no further............. https://autocomputerspecialist.com/shop-now?olsPage=products%2F1998-2002-dodge-ram-cummins-diesel-59ltr-i6-ecm-ecu-repair-service
  18. Yea I figure it must be a dirty connection because I just ran home for lunch and the gauges are functional. Of course still have a stored CEL P1698.
  19. I suppose I'll have to send the ECM back in to be tested.
  20. Got a P1698 this morning. Recently had my ECM repaired by ACS. The truck has been running fine since installing the repaired ECM, and doing the ground mod. Leave for work this morning and the truck is stumbling and billowing white smoke which I know is due to the failing VP44. However, the dash dings, lose all gauges, ABS, brake, Air bag, CEL, low fuel all illuminate. I cycled the truck on and off two times and the gauges were working, but had a CEL light, only codes P1698, P0216. Still able to pull codes with scanner. Drove to work fine. Went to move my truck and no bus again, no gauge cluster, and all lights illuminated. But the truck still runs and drives with no issues. Is it possible the ACS repaired ECM could be causing issues or is this ground related?
  21. I tracked down a driver and passenger re-tractor, just waiting to get them pulled.
  22. If the ECM is bad, try one from another truck. I had to do this to get my truck home. I used one from a 2001, and only thing the didn't work was the oil pressure gauge (different signal/wiring).
  23. @WiscoRedkneck @Mopar1973Man here is a video of my truck this morning. https://youtu.be/xpLHGUi5cv8 No throttle (dead pedal), no power, and white smoke. The RPMS just stop, even with the go pedal matted. I have a stored code of P0216. Eventually after a few minutes it will clear up and run right, but it happens more than I would like. I am assuming with these symptoms my injection pump will eventually die all together. I have no CELs, but maybe your VP44 gave up the ghost with no warning.
  24. I second calling ACS. They repaired my ECM. Side note: For as many times as ACS has been mentioned on here, the site should could a kick back for referring business. I mean since we are trying to generate funds for the site. Just sayin...lol!
  25. Oh I'm sure I have them. Tan, gray, or charcoal?
