  1. Thanks guys for the reassurance. I went ahead and ordered the glowshift mount. Gonna buy 1 gauge each paycheck. Instead of all 3 at once. Kind of pricy.
  2. Do you know if these are required, or do the gauges fit snug enough without? i dont know if the ISSPRO gauges include this piece always, or if its required to buy the below piece seperately.
  3. Are you running the ISSPRO EV2 gauges? It lists as a 2 1/16" gauge size, glad to hear they are a snug fit. Edit, I see you are running the Autometer 4th gen gauges.
  4. Thanks. I was just making sure before buying it. 1/2 the price is hard to pass up.
  5. Does anyone have any experience with the Glow shift 3 gauge mount, below. I am purchasing the ISSPRO EV2 gauges, the autometer mount is $80 on diesel manor, the glowshift mount is $40. Below is what I am looking at https://www.ebay.com/itm/98-02-DODGE-RAM-5-9L-24v-DIESEL-GRAY-TRIPLE-GAUGE-PILLAR-POD-fits-CUMMINS/292037961141?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649
  6. I did the mod as well but put a new alternator on at the same time, so technically mine doesn’t count. I would check all of your wires as this could also be as simple as a wiring issue.
  7. Yep, old chevys are simple. Our trucks look like there is a through bolt from the kick panel area as well.
  8. Yep, old chevys are simple. Our trucks look like there is a through bolt from the kick panel area as well.
  9. How is everybody removing the pin with the hinge on the truck? Or are you supporting the door and taking the top hinge off, new pins, and than installing it back on. Then proceeding to do the bottom hinge after the top is re installed?
  10. Here is my engine after detailing it, I had a few mice chewing on my wires. sons of guns
  11. I logged my live data again this AM, and zero temp drops, ECT, IAT, and RPM's are all steady. I will start alternating where I park my truck, but since I have put the Peppermint bags under my hood I am not seeing any signs. This will become a monthly regimen of mine, to put new bags under my hood. Thanks for all the help
  12. Thanks Royal. I purchased the peppermint scented bags from Home Depot and also set 3 traps under hood. They were all empty this AM. The bags last about a month and then you have to change them out. The mice thing is new to me. I have never had issues in the past.
  13. I got all of my issues resolved finally. On my high idle switch the wires that were chewed on were the LED light wires, so I just taped those up and the rest of the harness is untouched. The issue I believe was where there were bare wires showing on the main harness going through the firewall. All is well now I’m very happy to report. I hauled a load today and it pulled like a champ. I used heat shrink and electrical tape to fix the damaged wire, it was only 1 wire thankfully. I also went to Home Depot and got some mice repellent. They are little peppermint pouches that tie. I tied two under hood. Does anybody have any tried and true mice repellent tactics? Thanks for all the help on this also, great forum to be a part of.
  14. I am going to pull it today, I’ll be in touch for sure either way. I am hoping it is just the casing that got chewed off.
  15. I’m pretty sure you nailed it and the issue is my high idle switch which the damn mouse had chewed on. The wires were exposed where it passed through the fire wall. I have unhooked my idle switch and it has ran perfect. I have to do a few wire repairs but it was chewing on my main harness going through my firewall. It got chewed the tape off.
  16. I have the blue driver as well. It works just fine, should suffice for anything you need to look at. It pulls codes just as any other scanner would do, the live option is what is impressive. You can watch up to 5 different gauges at once, and it logs/saves the data which you can throw in excel or what ever you want to. As long as your Bluetooth is on, it connects automatically. I personally would become more familiar with your current blue driver versus buying another scanner. However that is the limit of this tool, you can read/pull codes and data, but you cant actually change any vehicle parameters as you would with much more expensive scan tools.
  17. Yeah, that looks much better with mechanical timer, versus my current digital one.
  18. Which timer do you have, I do have a timer, but if the power goes out it has to be reset. Will do, I have been logging ECT, but not IAT. I have not had any weird revs at idle but looking at my ECT numbers, it still drops out and I have even seen (-27). Still could be an ECM issue. I am getting a slight rev under throttle, its similar to when you put the cruise control on and the computer takes over, however this is when I am using my pedal to throttle. What could make the throttle increase while under throttle already?
  19. I put a new ECT sensor on, ran my truck, it ran fine. I logged live data on it and will see tomorrow if I had any temp drops like previously. I than installed the Timbo APPS and ran my truck again, logging the live data on this run as well. Just need to throw my data in excel. I was running down all of my wires and did notice one thing, where my high idle switch wiring harness passes through my firewall that a damn mouse had been chewing on the wires. I taped those up and put wire loom around all my wires passing through the firewall. Upon this I discovered also that the heat/noise liner on my firewall had mouse crap on it, so I proceeded to rip that all off my firewall. I am not sure if this could have been my issue all along but I know when I plug my truck in that a mouse would find under my hood nice and toasty on a super cold winter night. I might need to put my truck on a timer versus plugging it in all night in the future. One question I do have is when you switch over to MPG mode on the high idle switch, does everybody get a short rev? Mine has always done this, I assume that’s the adjustment in timing?
  20. No problem, thanks for the info. Thus far nothing has alerted me to it possibly being an ECM, but does it ever until its too late and than you get the codes.
  21. What all codes did you see when this happened? So far the issue has not happened again, after wiggling the ECT wires and straightening the wires directly above the ECT sensor. This could be a possibility as I do have the High Idle switch, but that was installed prior to winter, just seems like issues would have happened earlier on than this. Do you know of a good contact grease I could use to pull the plugs on all my sensors and spray them to coat them, and then plug/unplug them a time or 2 to ensure a solid connection?
  22. Thanks D, I was hopeful in that you get an over-boost code, that it was measured and could be reported somehow. I haven't tried all the check boxes yet, but will see if it reports anything, but like you said, its not accurate.
  23. Okay, thanks. I figured the wire would be buried somewhere in there, in a splice. I will do this tonight and trace down each wire to make sure they are not kinked anywhere, and in good shape. Wiring issues are no fun. Glad you got yours to quit by squeezing the harness
  24. Same here, I am hesitant to go further than feeling/wiggling wires at this point. I am sure an after market wiring harness would fix a few issues, however that is extreme. For now I think I will look again tonight for obvious cuts in the ECT wire where it might be shorting out. The easier of the two, fix the wiring, or replace the ECT sensor, would be for me to replace the ECT sensor. I will do that and log live data to see if I am still getting these swings in temp.
  25. I drove my truck this AM to drop my son off at school and also drove it in to work. Roughly 30 minute drive, plenty of time to get up to temp. I did not experience any symptoms of my idle acting erratic. I did log the live data on my scanner and as seen below, during normal throttle the temp is dropping out. I am hoping my issue pertains to a faulty ECT sensor, or ECT wiring somehow. Since wiggling the ECT wires yesterday, the issue has not came back. I did order a new ECT sensor from Geno's Garage. Below is my live data, as you can see, the temp drops even under normal throttle. Time ECT RPM Speed 1170.6 175 1687 63 1170.9 185 1684 63 1171.2 182 1679 63 1171.5 61 1679 63 1171.8 61 1682 63 1172.1 61 1696 63 1172.4 61 1696 63 1172.7 61 1697 63 1173 61 1697 63 1173.3 61 1697 63 1173.6 65 1698 63 1173.9 187 1699 64 1174.2 187 1699 64 1174.5 187 1699 64 1174.8 187 1699 64
