  1. I would imagine if you are speaking about the rock chips that are from your tires kicking up small rocks, the bed liner option might be your best bet, as covering up 50+ little rock chips wont be fun unless you can just spray over it.
  2. yeah, that was the price for my rocker area, cab and bed. The inside of my bed is already lined, but I got a new tailgate that wasnt lined, it cost me $50 for Raptor roll on liner. It turned out well.
  3. Following along. I am going to do this mod as well and install a new Nations alternator at the same time. Care to take any pictures of how you are routing B+ from your alternator. That is the only place I got lost is the B+ charge line, is that just running straight from the Auxiliary Battery? WT stated that the #6 wire that feeds through the 140AMP fuse is fully removed. Thanks.
  4. I was quoted $750 to do black on my rockers, and $1000 to do color match red for Line X, however it is guaranteed. Quite the expense just prior to selling. I have applied Raptor to the inside of my new tailgate, it went on very well, and was easily applied, if you are looking to do it yourself. Another option would be the Dr. Colorchip. I have had decent success with this, however it depends on how large of rock chips we are talking. https://www.drcolorchip.com/

  7. I am going to unhook the grid heaters when I can, that's for sure. Are you seeing any other weird electronic issues like mine when your alternator starts going? I have never had any Overdrive issues or anything else. I am just worried if I dont get a new alternator it might wipe out my down stream electronics. The big brother to my multimeter goes way higher on the frequency range.
  8. Given that the range was up/down and all over the place I am going to buy a new alternator as the stock one seems to be a major issue with so many trucks. Some seem to be at much lower miles than others, but they are quite old and many heater grid cycles applied.
  9. Yes, truck was warm, and all accessories were turned off. Here is the info on my multi meter.
  10. The water in fuel code I can only assume is correct, could have been previous owner. The code for engine coolant temp is from installing my high idle switch. I didn’t have it hooked up right and started my truck. I am not seeing any codes that are life threatening. So that leads me to the high spikes in AC noise that could be causing the issue. I can check again tomrrow with an alternate multimeter and will recheck with the same multimeter. I just don’t want to be chasing an ecm and lift pump due to a faulty alternator. However my question is in regards to the nations alternator, I see it’s made in the USA which is good, and it appears that all others who have went this route have had success using the nations alternator. But does it control the AC noise that much better? W-T seems to have figured out a solution for the grounding issues. I need to read up on that and go ahead and fix those while I’m at it.
  11. Anybody have any suggestions for next steps in trouble shooting? My next step otherwise would be to purchase a new nations alternator. Also will unplugging my grid heater for the time being.
  12. So does the below code tell me I need to use the OBD II tool to scan? I guess I am confused if I am seeing all of the error codes by doing the key trick. 1693-DETECTED IN COMPANION MODULE: Mopar's Note's: This error code cannot exist by itself and will have other error codes present in the ECM and/or PCM you'll most likely require a OBD II scan tool to get the codes.
  13. The key on/off trick worked on my truck, below are the codes: PCU: 1693-DETECTED IN COMPANION MODULE (Given this code showed up, should I expect to see other codes while using the OBII scan tool?) ECU: 0118-ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR VOLTAGE TOO HIGH 0177-WATER IN FUEL
  14. I have yet to pull any codes. I was able to test the alternator today, however the number is all over the place. It kept saying open loop when I tried to increase the range on my multimeter.

  16. Not twin turbos but did get my interior cleaned as well. I pulled my door sills to scrub them.

  18. You nailed it there. The reason we see so many of these trucks anymore is because they have a Cummins engine still poking along. I still see newer vehicles that are in worse shape than some of our trucks, people are just rough on vehicles, neglect.

  20. Thanks @Towrigdually I have wanted these forever but was afraid they would fit loose. Pretty sure you should get royalties now as it looks like you just sold a few sets for them. I am going with the gravel color.
  21. The only one I found on weather tech were the universal ones. I have contemplated going with husky. @trreed what do you not like about the husky ones?
  22. you know, we are taking about 18, 19, and 20 year old vehicles. It looks like the paint has held up decent on most but I do see lots of dodges where the clear coat has failed. Luckily mine is holding up well. I like to shine mine up when I can.
  23. Just washed mine on Saturday. I used Carpro reload to add a little shine and use Adams polishes car shampoo. Good stuff. I also put on a new tailgate the other day, my previous one hit a gooseneck.
  24. My check engine light has now went off and the problem has not reared its head again. I will still check the codes and report back.
