Smarty lvl9 with comp box on 5x5
Fantastic work ME!!! It's too bad that we were not able to obtain this type of info 10-12 years ago. But better late than never. @UnrulyDually Me is correct. When I was monkeying around with stacking boxes the only time I set the Smarty on a timing level was with a TST PM3 because that added no timing. Anything else I left the Smarty on even non timing levels and used the other boxes timing. I have always been a fan of the Smarty/Mad ECM due to my past experiences but since joining here I am not sure about going that route with my new truck.

Morning Pic For Today...........Post A Pic around your place.....
Yep. I'm in Northern Minnesota about 100 miles from Canadian border. It's out of the way but not remote. I like it here. Town of 15000 is 12 miles away and fluctuates due to college being in and tourist season. Awesome place and view! I totally understand about wanting to bail when in the populated areas. I get real rammy and just want to get back to the woods.

Too Funny not to share!
I agree. If you are buying new, you have warranty to weed out problems. Then if you get extended warranty you would have that for a while depending on how many miles you put on. Now once it's paid off do you roll the dice and keep it or trade in and start the payment cycle again.

That toy truck is funny as heck! Mainly because how accurate it is. I agree on the looks of the second gen also. Here is the window sticker from my new truck I just got. $40,000 in 2002 run through an inflation calculator is equal to $55,000 today. Prices are kinda equal.

Black Smoke - Normal? If not where to start looking?
I believe I mixed up air leaking through the motor with only holding xx psi. That's my mistake. I would do both methods though just to be thorough. I have also seen mention of using soapy water in a spray bottle to help locate leaks when testing. I agree.

The problem with leaving the horn in place is that the system only charges to xx psi that way. I think 15 pounds. You can do it that way sure to get obvious leaks squared away. I had boots fail at 25 psi because when they swelled, they started hissing. There was a failure in the boot itself. You would be amazed at how much stock boots balloon at 25 psi. When I said it is spooky to watch this happen I wasn't kidding.

Another thing I had noticed before leaks were resolved were an increase in EGT's by 150-200 degrees along with a serious increase in smoke. Good luck! I hope you get this figured out.

If you are still on stock intercooler boots my guess is boost leak. This is the tester the shop I go to uses. You test from charger to right before Intake horn. You can increase pressure as you go. I had multiple leaks at different pressures. Testing this way is eye opening and a little spooky to say the least.

The fishing is decent. The good thing is there are many many many fishing options around here.

Neighbor down the road does fall pictures for us. Pretty neat. We always get buzzed a few times a summer. He’ll make one pass, everyone runs out side to wave, and makes another. Last years winter jeep ride. Just getting out onto the lake behind the house through the woods.

What color is your truck?
Yes. All are Cummins. The little truck was well built and heavily fueled. Just the last one the 2002 is what I have. The 01.5 left 2011. The speedy truck last winter to a friend who is destroying it. He is running that thing how it was meant to be. Which makes me happy. That’s what that truck is meant for and he is using it. I drive it like a grandpa unless straight lines. As as far as rust. It’s a dodge. It’s the option that we all get but no one orders. Lol. I just saw your follow up. My neighbors shop. I’m his gardener and live in his original house. Which is 10 feet away from his new one. Pretty dang good gig. Been here since 2004. They are my family. The jeep. You’re looking at 6 figures bought for a third of that. Mine is an old built 2002 TJ. Eta: that’s not the shop. Enclosed lean to connected to shop This is part of main shop.

What color is your truck?
White. This is my 3rd white manual 24 valve. I like white. First was 2001.5. After I realized the mistake of rhino lining the rockers I 2 toned it. Second was 2500 rcsb. My speedy mid life crisis mobile. Latest one I picked up Saturday 2002 2500. Brother to my 01.5 except with leather. Funny thing is my interim trucks from 2011 to January were black. I hate black. But they were not every day common vehicles at the time.

New guy. Not his first 24v day.
I will see if I can get it loaded from my phone. Its a busy sheet because this was all one sitting. But this is the only dyno I have ever used and the same operator. I remember the operator commenting on the stack. He said it sucked from his end. I also have a sheet of same injectors/charger, MVP, and MVP/Smarty 8. I may even have one comparing EZ/RV 275's to MAD ECM(Smarty 9)/RV 275's

I just went though a lot of that thread. Holy Crap. Top notch fricking work guys. Seriously. I am re - learning. When @Me78569 threw up the data logging my jaw dropped. I hadn't realized the 24 valves evolved this far. I am out of the loop. Bad I absolutely love this site for the knowledge. Especially the 24 valves. Thank you thank you. BTW - I do have a dyno sheet from 2007 where I tested DDP 150's, Super B, stock ECM setting, Smarty 3,7,9, and a Smarty #6 stacked with an EZ.

Interesting. Thanks. I have been a fan of the Smarty since the MAD ECM days. I liked the drive ability of it. I originally had an EZ and wasn't impressed with it. Seemed like it fell off past 2k rpm. Had the MVP for a while and liked that a lot except that the box seemed to come alive at 7psi. Cruise control got interesting sometimes. I have no intentions of tapping the wire with this. I'll research Quadzilla boxes. Does the ZXT do boost fooling also? Reason I ask is that I see them offer separate boost foolers. I'll check out his thread. Thanks!

12 miles North of Bemidji in Turtle River. Thanks!! Like I said...not my first rodeo with these. I am glad I have the I want xxx hp out of my system. Smarty, maybe RV 275's or DFI 100's and we are good. I really liked his 6x13's in the little truck and his 100's in the old truck. Address fuel system, in tank stock pump "upgrade",I fricking cringed when he said that, and I am happy. And I really missed gauges. That too. Still has factory puke bottle. But the radiator is clean as heck. Original owner emptied it every oil change. That will go bye bye. I almost lit up and said that was a factory TSB. But gotta pick yo spots...and that wasn't one of them.

Hi guys!! Im new here. Just brought home a 2002 2500 Laramie 6 speed with 103xxx miles. Bone stock. It felt like home. I originally had a 2001.5 that I bought in 2002 and discovered the world of a modded Cummins. It was a lot lot of fun. I learned that 310 horse at rear wheels has zero issue pulling out and passing people at 70 with 20k on the deck of gooseneck. Seats killed me on road trips. Lost my mind and sold it in 2011. Dumb ***. Regeretted that sale 3 months after it. Bought a little speedy just wrong 2500 a few years ago. Absolute menace until warmed up and wanted to kill you. Fun as hell. Nothing could touch it in a roll on. My buddy in WI that bought it said the first vehicle he went against was a 1300 horse GTR Guy said best showing anyone has ever given him. After er I sold the 01.5 I bought a 2012 Chev 1500 with 6.2 2014 ram ecodiesel. Good truck 2016 Chev 3500 with 6.0. I didn’t have that a year in my possession. Sold it 3 weeks ago. And here we sit. With a 2002 Dodge Cummins with 6 speed and leather. There are small things. But thing is good shape for its age. Its the brother to my original truck. Although mine you could eat off the underside. I was happy having to deal with stock power today on crappy roads. Although i I do still have muscle memory to yank it into 4 hi in a blink between shifts. I see a lot of familiar informative faces on here. Ive been reading a lot lately. I always dug mopar mans posts on cf. learned a lot like I said. I’m home.
