  1. I did spot that but only after your post
  2. Thanks ....... I'll be checking this tomorrow as switch won't be here until Friday at the earliest
  3. I just ordered a multifunction switch from Rock based on Mikes advice, not bothered if it isn't the switch as the more parts I have the easier life is, there is a good one on my 3500 but I just can't bring myself to remove parts off of it as in the back of my mind I'll always be putting it back on the road
  4. Thanks for posting those, I'll hopefully be looking into it tomorrow if the temps get a little higher and it stops snowing
  5. Just when I thought my truck was pretty sorted Indicate to make a left turn and the wipers come on and stay on until the turn signal is off, all ok when indicating right, hopefully just a problem in the turn switch or wiring around the column, indicator doesn't come on when using either wash/wipe or wipe
  6. I finally got the lead to connect our 240v through a 110v site transformer ( our worksites have to use 110v) AS IT KILLS LESS our homes are 240v this kills more We don't get really cold although right now we have a UK wide weather warning for a little bit of snow possibly 8" or so I find a 2kw electric heater placed on the drivers floor does a really good job of thawing the windows to the point of not needing the block heater of which I spent £35 on the damn lead
  7. Picture above is ample for a prefilter as it really does need NOT to restrict in any way, filter heads and filters will restrict unless the medium is scrunched up steel wire which is what the one in the picture has. I use a similar Cat filter although it is not fitted at the moment, no real problem in the UK as we have no questionable filling stations here
  8. My return lines are not what came with the truck and my lift pump is mechanical so I'm happy with my pressures, all I'm trying to say is return lines DO have an impact on fuel pressure but hey what do I know
  9. I have done a lot of testing on my system and any restriction in the return raises the overall fuel pressure, I ran a new fuel line from the tee at the back of the head to the filler neck, when I restricted this with a hose clamp fuel pressure rose and by a lot. I get around 8 to 10 psi at idle and 25 to 28 ish at 2k +, restrict the return hose and I could blow the glass out of my pressure gauge and it is plumbed into the inlet passage of the fuel filter, 25psi at idle with the hose partially closed. I don't use the steel lines down the frame anymore or the standard filter The above is just my observations of my truck and FTR 8 to 10 at idle on my truck is returning a huge amount of fuel back to tank
  10. Thats where mines going when it gets a bit warmer/drier outside, already made the piece just got to get on fitting it
  11. Bit like here... in 1973 we applied for the 3rd time to join the common market, we got in, we've been trying to get out for years FINALLY we are rid of it and better off too, sucked the life out of our country for years what peeps vote for is not usually what peeps end up with
  12. what like you can't fix your pickup truck cos you might die in a car crash seriously though Cat has it at the bottom of every listing on their parts ordering website Again jokingly.... you can buy a machine gun but hey you had better not buy that fender as it's bad for your health..... I can't buy a gun but I can buy a fender, I can't defend myself with a gun cos I can't own one, but I could beat a burglar to death with a fender you guys can't buy IF I could afford to buy it and ship it that is but if I did the burglar would be a dead hero and I would be jailed for life, might get me out of paying for the fender though........ sorry Mr Visa sir senoir fender is in the pen so go whistle for your £1400, fenders got a head shaped dent in it anyway so go reclaim on rock LOL
  13. thats way over that mate, I reckon a blind man could make a complete fender from sheet metal for less my brother does a lot of sheet metal work on older cars in his spare time but the guy that has a shop next to his does VW camper resto's he will be able to make if I fail...... which is likely And WTH is proposition 65 ?
  14. DAP doesn't even Bat an eyelid selling and shipping to me in the UK and go out of their way to make it happen
  15. My truck has fender flares to cover the wider and different offset rims/tyres, end of last year I repaired the bed sides both sides, here in the UK it would be rear wheel arches, rear fenders maybe for you guys, not quite finished as weather stopped play, I've just sprayed in paint I had lying around to cover for the winter. Got to thinking If the rears were rotten then the front fenders under the flares might be the same, sure enough right hand side lower area on the fender is past it's best, no problem for our MOT as the flare covers it, looked on Rock and £73 or maybe $50 to 60 ish for the right hand front fender. Not too bad Put in my email address and postcode for delivery and WOW £747 or $1023 at my door, this includes the cheapest shipping of £552.... OR if I want to get the fender 4 days earlier than Feb 9th shipping is a whopping £1023 for a total of £1411, funnily enough if I was to buy genuine Mopar from rock at over £340 both totals at my door is a lot less, the most expensive shipping being nearly £200 less on the total. Rock don't seem to do the lower repair patch but I did find a place on ebag but the shipping was a stupid amount being as ebag has the GSP and the patch piece is no longer than a foot and no wider than 4" at best. Looks like it's the ideal time to practice my panel beating skills as I ain't buying into non of that I'd have thought the airlines would be eager to get business as no one anywhere is flying now a days
  16. I got maybe 33" to 34" tyres, doesn't eat steering, looks right, it's mine so if I have to change worn out parts then it's down to me anyway, I bought it because the pizza cutters had been binned Thing is it comes down to the owner to decide what he/she wants his/her vehicle to look like, myself I don't get the dropped to the ground EU shoeboxes the youngsters here like, I can't see where sitting 2" or less from the road and a 5" exhaust with a 1.2 litre motor is appealing but we are all different Evans truck looks the dogs danglies and I'm sure he can change out steering parts on his lonesome
  17. Thing is though, I work for myself on heavy plant and if it wasn't for stupid drivers I'd be out of a job I can't fix stupid but I can fix what stupid does..... over and over and over again £££££££££ keerrrching thank you For instance, I got to several sites where the operators keep resetting bucket levellers on the loading shovels so the bucket is cutting edge down, cutting edges typically last 4 to 6 weeks, I've told them once and reset once, will not tell them again and will not reset to level so at least every 6 weeks I change a cutting edge at £200 labour.... thank you Sir see you in a month and a half.... oh and then there's the cost of the cutting edge at £600 plus, I also go to sites where the operators are anal about the bucket being level... edges last best part of a year
  18. keeps the $$ rolling in though.... (to a customer) yeah those tyres look great, BTW $1000 to fix the steering and I'll see you again soon for another 1k
  19. If this is so why are electric lift pumps recommended to everyone.... I'm so glad I listened to no one and went mechanical... sorry mate but anything electric I can bin the better
  20. when it does it at low speeds is it in lockup ?? If I try to accelerate too hard in lockup either 3rd LU or 4th LU it slips and it feels just like what you say, I know you said you have a new convertor but what is a upgraded remanufactured unit? A BD trans or at least parts and triple disk torq is on the list from DAP as soon as I can
  21. And why would you want to bypass the intercooler on something that has no aftertreatment system, modern diesels use an intercooler bypass of sorts to raise the engine temperatures to assist the DPF to regenerate but engine internals are made using materials that can stand the higher temps needed
  22. Or Fit a mechanical lift pump and never worry about it again, no returning it to the manufacturer after it quits as there is nothing to quit, fuel pressure going UP with RPM not down and more than enough output to send a good flow back to tank even at idle. Add in 1/2" line kit, basket pickup tube (draw straw as you call it) and a return into the filler neck and you are bullet proof. might also consider a spare belt and front seal A few people say you can't bleed them after a filter change...... not so. either fill the filter with clean fuel, fit a tiny electric pump just for bleeding or as I found works great use a hand siphon pump.
  23. Now that's a Tyre, as already asked how much rubbing ??
  24. Up until 2 years or so ago I couldn't afford to buy one as building own house and various other stuff going on I settled for a 3500 4x4 5.9V8, which I've had for maybe close to 20 years now, still got it but it is parked. Finally managed to steal my 2500 from the p/o, not literally I'll add, it needed some work but about all ok now I love both for different reasons, tow a house down with the 2500, smooth as and cool as in the 3500.... neither is or ever will be for sale, one of them will take me to the bone yard.... odds on the 2500 as it is not rusty
