47re Parts
The line in front of the shifter linkage. Sensor port would probably be a good idea so I can install a temp gauge. Thanks.

47re Parts
Anyone know where you can get parts for a 47re. Had a cooler line fitting break off and can't locate one for threaded lines. Only one I can find is for push in lines which I don't have. Called the local dodge dealer but got more help asking my dog about it. :banghead:

47re stock or not?
Any recommendations on a good shift kit?

Foul smell from engine oil
The longer I run it the worse it seems to get. I think I'll try Delo, can't argue with almost 1,000,000 miles.

Foul smell from engine oil
I am guessing you have had this problem before from that response. I'll give Delo a try next time I change it, with your mileage I can't say it isn't good oil.

Foul smell from engine oil
Oil level stays the same. Dinosaur based Rotella. I am a diesel technician and have only found other engines with the same smell in them that have EGR systems, but not everyone of them. Some of them were even running synthetic oil. :banghead:

Foul smell from engine oil
I bought my truck 6 months ago with only 47,000 miles on it. It had sat for almost 4 years with a dead VP44. Before even starting or cranking the engine I changed the oil and filter. After running it for about 2,000 miles I started getting a very bad odor in the cab when I would stop at a stoplight or stop sign. Finally tracked the smell down to the engine oil. Starts getting that horrible stench around 2,000 miles or so. Any ideas on what it possibly is? Planning on getting oil analysis done as soon as I can get the trans problem taken care of and start driving it again.

Auto trans troubles
How many miles were on the transmission when you took it out?

Speedometer pegged out and tranny stuck in high gear.
I believe the sensor on the rear axle is for the ABS. The one on the transmission/transfer case would be for the speedo. I would try unplugging it first and see if it drops to zero or remains pegged. Might put your truck into limp mode but if the sensor is the problem that should, in theory, cause the limp mode and keep the torque converter from locking up. Might also want to check the settings on the edge if you used it to correct your speedo for the bigger tires, something could have gone haywire there.

Mystery switch not working
I did the same thing as well. Put the relay back in when I took the truck to the dealer to have key fobs programmed. Did find out that if you wire in a 33 ohm resistor into the ground wire you can leave the relay in and not cause any codes or limp mode when you use the switch. I read it and tried it, worked on mine and now I don't have to worry about putting the relay back in and forgetting it again.

Auto trans troubles
Consider it sold. Is there anything I will need to get for it or do to it before putting it in? Obviously fluid and filter even though I'm a little shy about changing them since my last experience. :lmao:I work at a truck garage so it can be shipped to a place that has a way to move it(forklift, whatever). Could you handle the shipping on it and give me a total? Do you happen to have a paypal account?I'm assuming it is a 4x4 transmission since your sig says you have a 4x4.

1.000.000 Miles Yet???
I just bought it about 6 months ago and it had 47,000 miles on it. Been fighting gremlins from it sitting with a bad VP44 for a few years which explains the low mileage. So its been one little thing after another trying to get it straightened out.

Auto trans troubles
Not looking to get a lot out of it, it is just sitting around not doing anything. When I purchased my NV4500 shipping was not bad and the company delievered here and had a tommy lift tail gate. The freight was not too bad through R and L freight. It was running good before I removed it, just wanted a manual so pulled the auto out of it.

Auto trans troubles
Have just a little over 55,000 miles on it. I figured the fluid and filter hadn't ever been changed so thats the only reason I was changing it. I never had any problems until I changed the fluid and filter. I think I should have just kept driving it until it wouldn't move and then figure out what to do. :banghead: --- Update to the previous post... Definitely interested depending on price and location considering shipping would probably be outrageous and my only vehicle that I could load a transmission in and drive wherever is the one that needs it I'm kinda limited.

Auto trans troubles
Yes you did. Not exactly sure how I missed it. New guys.

Air Dog Relay
There is a fuse inside the cab that is for the factory lift pump circuit. Its a ten amp fuse I think in either slot 9 or 10

Air Dog Relay
Are you getting power into the relay to activate it? You should have power to eith the 85 or 86 terminal going into the relay from the harness. of those two terminals one should be power and one should be ground with the key on.

Auto trans troubles
Well I was changing the fluid and filter in my wonderful stock 47re yesterday. Found what looked like a 5 inch diameter snap-ring in pieces attached to the magnet in the trans pan. Had a good bit of metal shavings on the magnet also. Trans is also slipping when it shifts gears now with the fluid lever full. Worked fine until changing the fluid and filter. Anyone ever run into this? Has anyone ever used Revmax parts for their trans?

transmission shift problem
had no shifting problems but went to change my filter and fluid and found pieces of a pretty big snap ring attached to the magnet on the bottom of the pan. any thoughts?

Oil Change
Cummins recommends Valvoline premium blue, I run plain old dinosaur based rotella 15-40 with 2 quarts of lucas oil treatment. Fleetguard stratapore filter. Cummins service manual does say to fill the filter. That is also from using my Engine serial number on quickserve to look it up.

1.000.000 Miles Yet???
Wow, think I'm slacking just a little. Just rolled over 55.000 yesterday.

Remote Keyless Entry
Thanks for the link. The two that I bought were supposed to be compatible with my truck but apparently either Dodge has more tricks up its sleeve with that stuff or the seller had no idea and I didn't research them enough before buying. :banghead:

Remote Keyless Entry
I just tried to have two FOBs I bought off ebay yesterday. The dealer couldn't program them because they weren't the same model/type/part number that came with the truck originally. New FOB at the dealer is $96 after tax. The first link posted are actually the ones I bought for my truck. Small world.
