  1. So todays drive into work wasnt to bad. Egts were pretty decent too, could be better but so far its manageable. My oil temp is still same as coolant temp, as @Mopar1973Mansays. oil temp should be lower than coolant for proper timing. The iQuad still is confusing no matter how many times I read it, its like everything affects another thing which affects another. Kinda planning 2 steps ahead lol. So which do you work first? Timing only - which band? Or max load, low psi reduct, reduct scaling - seems to be either 50% or 100% for most people? I attached a snippet from this mornings drive in, at the end I gave it some throttle too, egt buzzer didnt ding at me yay! lol. iQuad-2022-04-18-05.28.20-579684091[1].csv
  2. It might just be the gauge going. This morning done some micro testing and had to key bump twice before it showed pressure at the gauge, somethings bleeding off? The pump runs at any point, there's no problem there. I just dont see pressure till I key bump a few times or the truck starts. Its something that just started happening maybe a week or so ago... That silly {upgraded} spring has disappointed me. Still at that solid 15 psi which is good but I wanted 16-17psi for security. Ill have to do what @Mopar1973Mansuggested and find some washers that will fit inside there. Im assuming opposite side of check ball, on fitting side...
  3. Sorry @Tractorman it is from (ECM) main harness LP plug to relay, then relay to LP.
  4. Well I found a contact to call this week about my ecu, so that's in the works. I fixed my wastegate issue for now. Got it set at 55psi. Made a nice setup with a regulator right at the turbo. Here is the wastegate rod issue I mentioned previously. I pried more on it but it still isn't what I'd like to have. Very limited space! I will be monitoring egts and boost numbers this week and see what happens. I need to figure out that knock or what ever it is. I think it's valve train but at the same time, I've had a different noise everytime I've changed injectors. Which leads me to believe with the egts and noise it could be injectors? I'd almost put money on it! Only under load and/or higher rpms. Been doing research on lifters, and valve train issues. If it's valves I'm screwed, either way I'd have to pull head to be certain on most of it...
  5. The FASS system plugs into the factory LP plug. Pump is running when these tests were done. Gauge is mechanical also. I did another couple of bump tests this morning and wouldn't you know the gauge showed 15psi... seems to be intermittent now... I'll have to monitor this week and see. It has shown the previous symptom all last week.
  6. I guess while we're talking shocks, anyone ever run a dual front shock setup? I have seen them on some high class rigs, didn't know why or if it helped. Just curious...
  7. I'm gonna do some more key bumps in the morning and check again, but this worries me... I should have a constant pressure not 0... I might tweak their "upgraded" spring (shouldn't have to do this @fass) and add a washer maybe, if this little issue gets solved.
  8. I think I would still recommend getting that kit big tires or not. My tires are only 33". I bought it once and I'll never have to buy any steering stuff again, and it's bullet proof.
  9. I have CPP's 60" bolt on traction bars, work great, no more axle wrap for me. However I highly do not recommend buying from them anymore!
  10. I'm running blistens - shocks and stabilizer and a DOR complete steering setup all heim joints. Solid as a rock, last to do is the gear box. Love the setup!
  11. Thought I'd make another little one for this. Doing some diag and upkeep and stuff from other thread this weekend and came across this... So I can turn key on, visually see needle on gauge move 0-5 psi, next do a key bump and it shows nothing, no matter how any times I try key bump. I removed fuel line from vp44 and into a bucket. Performed key bump again, fuel flows out great fills up a gallon pail and then some. When truck is started gauge shows 15psi even while driving. I also have a spring kit from FASS to increase pressure just a tad. However I have never seen more than 16psi, only sits at 15. Idk why that is??? Stock is around 15, I was hoping for 17 ish... New vp44 came with a new overflow valve, could that be failing or failed causing this? I'm not sure what else it would be. Fass has flow but can't build any pressure maybe another idea, should still have warranty on it. Any thoughts?
  12. No haven't tried that. I thought about seeing if I could get it re flashed, but I wanna make sure they will put my 3 cylinder high idle and high idle back on cause most won't... I mentioned to moparman that maybe there is a "tune" latched to it still from PO that he forgot, or forgot to tell me? Idk anything is possible. If there is any video or whatever I can make or provide let me know. Currently still at the provided: 15, 19, 25, 28, 30 The 90 up canbus fuel curve 2*, 5*, 50%, 2*, 28% (or 30%) Edit: I just thought of an old buddy that might be able to re-flash mine or possibly loan me one to test, I'll contact him today and check...
  13. This is true, you make a valid point and completely see where your coming from. Probably very true and makes common sense 🤣 I'm not a young kid or an old fart yet, I'm right in the middle and still would like a little play time, I think alot can attest to that lol. I really think I would have a hard time selling my turbo, just don't know anyone and fb market place you get all kinds of riff raff from there; injectors I could prolly keep till down the road perhaps. I know I don't need what I got, I tried to make it better by getting smaller all NEW pump, lines, tubes, injectors and thought I'd be golden... not so much at the moment... I guess best case scenario I'd like to (make it work) best as possible till I can find a way/save up for twins and save what little money I have for that goal, whether it makes sense or I'm off my rocker idk. If I knew what an "acceptable" egt # would be that might help. Everything seems fine otherwise. Timing (might be a smidge high?) Or I have lifter knock, or what kinda sounds like valve or valve train knock, idk. Its very light though. Gets up and a scoots however! But 900 and 1000* just worries me @ cruise that is... There gain I could have bad injectors once more...dribbling or maybe that's the knock hmm 🤔
  14. I went from the .093 lines and tubes back to stock... started with a DF pump, .093 lines and tubes, 6x18's, same turbo, cam, etc. Tried 6x18, 7x15, 6x13. Long story on all of it... now it's stock pump, lines, tubes, all new... 5th or sixth set of injectors from dap (new 6x13). Sig is up to date. That's the problem, I can't get it right. Been taking suggestions as they come, I'm just can't get the hang of all this via reading, I need taught via hands on and explanations... Just friggin difficult. I've tried only 65mph max every day, easing into the pedal, trying to get some mpg and egts down and level but it just isn't happening. Just better than What I've previously had and it's still the same.....
  15. Well I had to try it lol but not even close. Truck barely moved haha. Back to the other one now. I don't think buying another turbo and another set of injectors is a smart idea, to then turn around and buy another turbo or 2 at a later date then have a turbo and injectors set just sitting around that I really didn't want or need in the first place. Just my take on it. I'd rather figure out how to make this one work till further upgrades can be had. So maybe I'll have to deal with egts above 600 idk. The other day there was a light head wind and I was 950-1050 all the way into town! If the quad is supposed to help and manage things to an extent and I can't get anything I'm needing that's it's supposed to do, maybe I'm on my 7th set of bad injectors??? Does anyone else have a similar setup and get better than 12 mpg and lower than 800-900 egt's cruising?? Sorry for the rant, just getting more irritated again that I can't seem to get this figured out and I'm frustrated. It's funny, I don't really remember my previous setup which was an insane amount of fuel ever getting hot as it does now 1400-1500* not even trying lol.
  16. Gonna plug all that in here before I leave and test it out. Timing and fuel.
  17. It seemed fine to me, like I was saying the boost numbers seem low to me, smidge of smoke through 3rd and 4th, not clouding out the intersection though. I think the obvious hindrance is the turbo spool down low, cause it's laggy up untiiiiiiillllllllll 2,000 rpm lol Engine supposedly has a Hamilton cam, can't 100% confirm but I assume it's there. Got a BD intake horn, and no grid heater going into the plenum Yall got me really wanting to throw some money at 2 turbos right now... That's gonna be expensive!! Anyone want a 64/71/14 ?🤣 (Wastegate works ust can't hook it up on mine)
  18. Yes I knew they where big, just thought it was a better option than 6x18 haha... I guess I need to start figuring out/learning twins?!?! Daily play truck? I can live with it! 2k is indeed the area where it hits. However, I'm only hitting boost in the 30-40 psi range right now... not enough fuel yet?? Edit: I reference (only 30-40) just due to what I used to get with it. It could peg a 60 psi gauge... I think 70 mph is a good number for hwy cruise. In my wife's car it's 75 for all the interstate driving lol. I currently have only been driving/testing @ 65mph for all this. I'd rather 75 but let's face its got 4.10's....
  19. Great stuff here! Yea PO said he pulled some with it, don't know class, but it is what it is at this point. So I didn't start working with the most street friendly stuff, now it's alot better from what I had, so on the bright side there's progress... Don't hate me for this but right now it's just a daily driver, didn't expect 20mpg or anything crazy, just something better than 6x18 and DF pump churnin ponies... So basically Id like a decently fun daily driver, don't think I'll get any better than that out of 6x13's... I may randomly tow here and there, kinda rare, but things can change, so tow tune can come later. If could get 15mpg that would be a huge jump, and cruise 600* egt would be a nice. Any better than that--icing on the cake! I'll try this fuel curve now about to head home. I agree with @LorenS little tidbits like he mentioned would be great to keep on hand.
  20. I didn't think ot would be but I wanted to double check. Maybe at some poontoon I could save for compounds... Ive always really wanted to put some in...I think re-gearing is the next big step possibly. So I'm prolly just worried to much when i shouldnt be , running 750-850 cruising on the hwy.
  21. Well @Mopar1973Man with what @Me78569 has put together tune wise, I am at 21.5-22* cruise timing. That should suffice correct? Im not sure what to mess with next really. I know this isnt a tow tune but from what I have now I cant imagine what temps will be with a trailer behind it. Just tossing out ideas, what kinda littler/ cheap turbo could I put with it to help out? Or if its even worth talking about with this turbo... And I freaking keep forgetting to make the thread for the wastegate.
  22. I put canbus fuel back to 90%+1 and run that again with all same settings I guess. Last time I tried all three setups 70, 90, 100 starting and it really didn't make a difference egt wise, little higher with the 100 but pretty close. Is 700-800 an acceptable temp for me? Maybe I'm hoping for to much? Fyi Just filled up, ~ 13 mpg... The 90% doesn't smoke bad at all starting out/ getting on it. The cruise temps is what I'm focusing on, is that the best way to go about it?
  23. No matter if I choose 90% +1, or starting at 70%+ 2%, seems to still run and average hot, 700 -750 ish. I have like 3 or 4 spots that have a short section of flat, rest of it varies very slightly but makes my egts jump extremely quickly. So egts is my only complaint so far, smoke output is really good - 100 times better. Still has a haze though when taking off or building back speedfrom a down shift etc - not black haze however... I've tried to move max load up or down one, timing reduct up or down one, and of course the canbus fueling at 70 & 90, but haven't really seen any changes that I can notice.
  24. Here is some data logging from this morning, short snippet cruising to work and the other should be pedal to the floor 2nd and up. Boost numbers are low though? Lack of fuel? Cruise Temps were 700* plus this morning coming into work... iQuad-2022-04-04-05.07.32-146142643.csv iQuad-2022-04-04-05.00.141743032035.csv
