The only difference in the two times I downloaded the .api and installed it was the OS i was using.  First was on the Mac side of my computer, and the app wouldn't show timing, canbus, or coolant temp.  The second time was on windows 7 and everything is working great with the box on the hard fuel tune.  I wonder if the way iTunes interacts with the phone is different for Mac vs. Windows and that's why it got screwed up.

Like I just bought another bug forward for fly by wire cruise control folks. I found that cruise timing is flat as a rock and doesn't vary at all. So at 40 MPH or so it kicks into cruise timing and holds the exact same timing all the way to 80 MPH like an old P7100 pump. This doesn't work for the economy purpose at all. Part of this problem is the TPS signal is ZERO during cruise control so the Quadzilla just holds cruise timing all the time even if the truck starts climbing a 6-7% grade. I think there should be a certain amount of retard vs boost too so as the load comes on, boost rises the timing should start to retard some too hopefully to keep the efficiency up.

If boost is rising it will, now, kick out of cruise timing and back into normal timing.  I want cruise state to only be used when the truck is truly at cruise state, once load comes up it needs to jump out of cruise state and into your normal timing map.

I am going to change the way cruise timing is calced though, you setting for timing will be at 80 mph, so if you want 19* at 65 then you should set your cruise timing to ~20.5*  so that at 65 timing has fallen a bit.

Hey guys, Still putting the truck back together, hopefully driving at the end of this week! all caught up on the thread though! @Me78569 you are doing an awesome job with this stuff man!

Good to hear you're getting it back together. Hopefully not too much has changed since you've been down!

I don't remember mine staying rock solid at a number whether doing 60 or 80. I thought with high load the ECM had some weight and would pull timing down? Maybe I just didn't notice.

The hardest part with this is finding a system that works for everyone. Going up a 6% grade @Mopar1973Man might be at 50% load and 25psi of boost while I'm at 30% load and 35psi of boost. I don't know how you're going to work through a method that will work for everyone without a user defined value. Hopefully you'll come up with something, but I'm skeptical. Not doubting! Just skeptical :shifty:

Alright I need everyones input on this.

What if the Quad used the wiretap tps low +%5 -%10 limit as the upper limit for cruise state?  In a MPG tune there is absolutely 0 reason to have wiretap going when at cruise.  All it will do is decrease MPG.

IE so if you wiretap low limit is %20 then cruise state will engage as it does now, up until say %30 tps?

Thoughts? issues?  I am trying VERY hard to not add another tuning variable.

Fly by wire CC doesn't have a TPS input....

AHHH I HATE MY LIFE

@TFaoro

What if I convert that low TPS into load, which is really is?  So if wire tps low is %20 I add %10 and convert that into a load value?

So in this example if TPS low is set to %20, I do load of %30 as the low limit?

I would NOT convert that TPS value into load for wiretap. You could end up with a "runaway" or "shutdown" as the load value increases/decreases with wiretap input and constant TPS

However again you run into the issue of different setups if you only change it for cruise state. I have wiretap starting at 5% because I don't come off of level 2 unless I want to do some playing. Keeping that TPS low gives me a lot of control over wiretap with my foot when I "play." Let me look through the custom tuning variables and see if I have any ideas. Give me a couple hours.

Sorry that's not wha tI meant.

I meant in order to try and use TPS as the limit for cruise I would take that low tps setting, add %10 to it and use that %30 as a high limit on load for engaging cruise state.

I do see your issue though with wiretaplow limit being low.   Not really a great solution.

It really needs to be a psi limit for cruise timing :banghead:

Right up my alley. I do that every Friday and Monday. Can you send me a spare Quad since that is the only part I dont have?

you'd have to rip it out of my cold dead hands at this point.  I don't know that there is a measurement for the blood sweat and tears put into the coding at this point.

I don't kepe track of hours of obvious reasons.

It was worth a try. Nothing ventured nothing gained.
