As for the plastics I've been using... Armor-All. Most people use it wrong. I spray it on in the heat of the day with the door open and allow it to bake to clear state on the plastic. DO NOT wipe off. Just spray on and wall away.

I'll admit I've got a few crack but my dash has lasted much longer than most folks.

Exterior is tough being its exposed to weather so any kind of spray on plastic treatment will wash off in the rain or snow.

Armor all when I have done it. Just wiped it on. Replaced the bezel 6 or 7 month's ago and the dash several years back.

I let a laborer wash my truck many years back and gave him a bottle of AA. Went back a bit later and he used almost the whole bottle. It looked very nice but the steering wheel was slicker than snot.

I was using Black Magic stuff on the black front bumper top and rear view mirror black plastic, etc, works good for outside black stuff, read its pretty nasty for interior

My dash looks pretty good. Usually has a layer of dust on it to block the UV Ray's. AA just seemed to make the dust turn into mud.

That's one of the main reasons I quit using it very often. It is a dust magnet.

  • 2 weeks later...

Since we are talking dash, one idea a buddy tried and seems to work was to do fiberglass mesh and some resin to strengthen it before it crumbles then just run a dash cover, we did a small spot on my dash when he was working on his boat...seems to hold up so far
