I know the topic of window tint has been talked about alot on the internet, but I'm wondering..can you buy an actual window for the 2nd gen (driver and pass door) that comes from factory with a darker tint, like a 40 % or darker? I know alot of places are cracking down on aftermarket tint but if it's a factory job they don't say anything here.

I need to replace the rear center brake hose. When I went to take off the two lines that go from the center hose block to the calipers, the brake line started to twist. the lines and hose from the center hose to calipers are in great shape. I just need to replace the center hose. My Question, is the line from the center hose block to the caliper all one part? If this line twist apart I can just replace the hard line. and is it inverted flare or bubble at the caliper hose? I did all the other lines this past week because the one Behind the fuel tank went Two tie down straps wroked great to lower and raise the tank.

  3. Here you go guys and gals a water hammer video... This will give you a good feel of what is going on with the gauges. Now remember the injection pump turns at 1/2 the rate of the crank but fires all 6 injectors in 1 360* turn of the gear. So let say your cruising at 2K RPM's so the injection pump is turning 1K RPM's but fires 6,000 times a minute. This is why you really don't see pressure change like my video but since the frequency of the valve open/close causes a buzzing noise to mechanical gauges. Also my irragation system is much higher pressure compared to liftp pumps but the same efect happens just on a smaller scale.I blown up the filter once already being dum…

Today I hooked my computer up to my truck and when I viewed the live data values (RPM, VSS, ECT, IAT, etc) with my truck idleing the numbers were jumping all over the place, for example the VSS would read 0 then 68 then 136 and all over the place with my truck just sitting there idling. So something is wrong somewhere in the truck because I tried connecting to other vehicles we have and everything works like it should with the OBD II cable and software. I'm not even sure where to start in trying to find the problem but right now I'm kind of thinking it may be a ground wire somewhere but I have no clue what wires to start checking

I just had my heater core,ac evap, and dash top replaced. My old ac evap was leaking so that was the main reason for all the work. Before ac work my center vent air temp would get about 33-34 degrees. My temps now after the work is with fan on high and outside temp at 92* the center vent will not get lower than 47-48*. With fan on low it gets up to 50*. The ac doesnt cycle alot like when it was low on 134a but the low side line going to compressor is iced up with all fan speeds but high. I checked low side pressure and it runs around 25 psi with fan on medium and it will have ice all the way to compressor with center vent temps at 47*. What if any problems does this look l…

I have a 2001 Quad Cab Cummins and I want to put some gages on it. Exhaust temp, boost, fuel pressure and tranny temp. What are the good accurate gages to get? Are GlowShift a good gage?? Guy in town sells them but I prefer to have quality over anything. If they arent accurate, they are junk in my opinion. Also does anyone make a rail pod to hold 4 gages? I see 3. Was planning on buying a 3 and then adding another above the steering column????? I see you can buy those too. Thanks

I have a 2001 Dodge Cummins Quad Cab short box that I purchased new. It has 83,000 miles and for the most part, this truck has been bullet-proof. Wisconsin winters can be rough on vehicles. I try to wash my vehicle after using it in the winter. I have a car for my everyday driving. Well, being 10 yrs old, it is time to put some money into it. Couple of modifications I want to do: 1. I need a new exhaust. Want to go from the turbo back with a 4". Who makes the best one with a muffler?2. I want a bank of 3 guages on my rail, turbo pressure, trans. temp and exhaust temp, who makes best and how easy are they to hook up?3. I noticed rust under my truck when pull…

Just like the title said... I finally changed out my factory brake pads for the first time in 9 years and 187K miles. Now I hooked up with Relentless's Dad in New Meadows, ID and had him turn the rotors for me which he did a awesome job on. I had ordered all my parts from RockAuto.com and got front and rear axle brake pads, full seal kit for front and rear calipers and got new slide pin boots for a total of $103.49 with shipping. Old front pads Old Rear Pads

  12. So, you ever do something and think nothing of it, and then it goes bad and then you sit back and reflect and realize that you know better, or should've known better . Loading my tractor on the trailer yesterday and was pointed ona bit of a downhill grade...there was the mistake...and had the E brake on and in gear, but soon as I got the weight of the tractor up on the back of the trailer I think you all know what happened I went on a little unwanted drive with the truck, trailer and tractor for about 50 ft and then the trailer pushed the truck into a jackknife until I came up against a telephone pole i have in my yard. Blew my tire off the rim,. ruined my new back bumpe…

Jegs sells a low fuel psi switch kit that is adjustable.(5to25psi). a little pain to set at 10-12psi but if your fuel pump is adjustable you can turn it down till lite comes on or off ,then reset your pump.

  14. Brake system on my 02 4x4 was not opened up, problem started a few weeks ago after replacing both front hub assemblies. Just pressed brake pistons in and left them hang. Before starting it I pumped the brakes a few times to get the pistons filled and pushed back out. now ever since I loose my power brakeing after about 2-3 applications or prolonged applications like rolling to a stop sign ect. The pedal gets rock hard and there is a grinding noise almost like air in the system and a pump is cavitating sort of like the abs pump is acting funny. I have bled the brakes and get no air and the power steering is operating well and level is good. Brakes work excellent otherwise,…

Some years back there was a lot of talk about turbo timers to prevent turbo bearing cokeing but, for whatever reason, no one seems to know what I'm talking about. Maybe because some of the new fueling boxes have this feature built in them. What I want to do is build my own relay timer so that I can run an auxiliary 12 volt fan for about 30 minutes or less after engine shut down but I cant seem to find any kind of timer relay that can do this. There used to be aftermarket turbo timers which would run the truck for 5 minutes or so after turning the key OFF, unless you opted to override the timer with a button. Maybe there aren’t too many guys who have been on these forums …

Drove to work yesterday, and saw I had 1/2tank fuel; seems right. Left work, started the truck, DING DING.. Low fuel light; WTF? Needle was below E mark. Rushed to fuel station ($3.899) and filled up... 18 gallons, that's it? Started the truck to only see the same thing. Reseated the connector on the tank to no avail. The needle barely moves from key on to key off. Do the level senders fail in this manner, or do I need to look elsewhere? Thanks, guys!

I've been using my bed w/ no liner for the last 3 yrs. Cardboard & exercise mats. It's ok untin I get a 1/2 ton of grain on a pallet & they use the tow motor to push it the rest of the way in. I did think I struck gold the other day, one was for sale by the owner in front of his grain store. After taking some measurements seemed like it would fit. I would have tossed it in but my grain was already loaded. To complicate things, I have a fiberglass topper. After 3 trips, no one was around to help me w my shell. After talking w/ Michael on the phone the other day, he expained how the beds were changed w each generation. Thank you for that but i wish I new that before…
