Hi guys, i have a 2003 cummins auto trans that I am having dead pedal issues. No codes. While driving at completely random times the truck will completely drop off to idle for a couple seconds, then come back to the desired rpm and work fine. Sometimes this happens very rapidly and makes the truck undriveable. On the rare occasion that the truck does not act up it runs perfectly fine with plenty of power. I replaced the APPS and it made no difference. Checked continuity on harness from each of the 6 wires from the apps to the ecu connector, all OK, checked continuity from ecu connector to FCA and found OK, checked continuity from each pin…

Hello all. I currently have a stock 2008 2500 6.7l. I am wanting some insight of the pros and cons of the available deletes and programmer options and best brands. I'm not looking to damage my truck but to hopefully increase fuel mileage. Currently getting 13-15 depending on how heavy I get into the gas. My truck has a 4" lift with 35x12.5x17. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Need some help? I have an 05 Cummins with a 6" lift and recently the death wobble is gotten worse and no one seems to know why. The Front end is completely tight, Alignment is good. I have duel stabilizers and a gear box bracket on it. Any suggestions on what or how I can fix this.

  4. So lets start with the code I know its not list here. The P0243 code is a wastegate solenoid issue. Either there is no +12V power or no control from the ECM on the ground side. Now I can say that this wiring diagram is not very helpful at all. The wire colors are wrong here too. The plug at the solenoid is Dark Blue (ground to ECM) then there is pink/yellow. Then tracing back from the solenoid I do have continuity from the pink/yellow to the C130 connector. At this point the wire swaps to red/orange color heading to the TIPM. Now that red/orange wire now there is two connectors in the TIPM that have this red/orange colored wire going to the module. One …

I am learning a lot about my 2009 6.7. sounds like I have a good truck. Had an injector misfire #4. Replaced it with the help of the internet. torque specs and all. Truck started up finally! Still having the rough idling problem. Do I have to put the new injector trim code in before it will fix the problem? This is where I am at with my truck right now. Please help! Got lots of other newby questions for someone who would like to help. Thanks in advance for your input.

Let me start from the beginning. Bought the truck 3 years ago with 77,000 miles on it. Now approx. 130,000. Six months ago (When all my problems started) Some jack#&! sole the NOx canister off my truck. truck ran fine with awsome fuel mileage gain. Of course the check engine light came on. No biggy. I'll deal with it. Then an upper console message. DPF full/ power reduced/ see dealer. Truck ran fine except pulling my trailer down the highway when I would hit a hill as the truck would downshift it would lose power. ( My truck is used every day for our business, and never leaves the house without a trailer hooked to it.) I figured the exhaust can wait until vacation tim…

I just received an 05 2500 and it has some strange issues, where to start.:banghead:If you step on the throttle in neutral it acts like a sticky cable but we know there is no cable.Throwing codes P0572, P0628, P2509, and P0533. A/C works intermittently, cruise light comes on but speed will not set, seems to smoke a little more than the other one I have. Thanks for any ideas,Dale

2006 Ram CTD 4x4 with 48RE, 167,xxx miles. Brought it home with a blown #4 injector line. I know it would pull on the gooseneck with a lot of throttle, and reverse seemed alright, but didn't drive it much. Fixed the fuel line, and on to the trans. Park would hang so bad we thought we would break the column shifter. Previous owner installed Derale pan. Dropped pan, found glittery fluid, pulled valve body, installed Georend bullet detent kit. Reinstalled valve body, and filled with new ATF4, and there's a weak reverse or 1st with engine braking. Put a transducer on the rear servo port, and I'm seeing 180-190 in reverse at 1500 rpm, but the truck still won't pull in 4 low. 1…

So i noticed something kinda odd today. when i removed my smarty programming from my truck the boost reading on my scangauge at idle goes to like -2.3. then i reprogrammed the smarty and it went to 0 at idle. thinking i was seeing things i redid the process. uninstalled it yet again and the boost reading went back to -2.3 or there abouts at idle. so what is the smarty doing? or do i have a sensor going bad.?

  13. With the nice weather arriving I am getting my '05 ready for some R&R activities. I am going to put my camper on the truck and hook up the boat and head out for some fun. I am thinking I want to upgrade my transmission air to oil cooler so that I can keep my tranny temps from getting high as I use the truck. I will be at max GVW on the truck and my GCWR will be about 17k. Last summer driving in the heat I saw tranny temps of 196 degrees F without the camper or the boat in tow. I know it will go up as I load the truck and travel the mountains so I want to build in lots of margin. Of course I can't find a spec on the OEM cooler so I don't know what it's BTU capa…

This is the 3rd common rail I have built recently with this Cummins error. This is a late 2007 5.9 backed by a 6 speed manual. Notice the rod orientation upon dis-assembly. The rods are backwards. This engine only had 190k miles and had not been opened up on the bottom end since new. Engine failed due to broken rings on cylinders 1 and 4 caused by failed injectors. Truck is a 1 owner since new that knows complete history. I've also attached service instructions direct from Cummins Quickserve. Figured I would post for the Common Rail folks. How it is assembled now.

Here are some pictures of a Derale 15870 cooler that I installed for a customer. I haven't installed any of the wiring in these photos, but the fan will be controlled by a relay. The temp switch is on the inlet side of the cooler, and will turn the fan on at 180 degrees, and back off at 165 degrees. Here is the cooler (which is massive) and the bracket that I built to mount it to the frame. And the bracket mounted to the frame... The cooler mounted to the bracket. By mounting it at an angle, I was able to tuck it up against the bottom of the cab nicely, but not have anything hanging below the frame rail. Another …

Well I have been saving up for gauges and I am almost there. However, I wanted to see what others are running. I am leaning towards Auto Meter "Factory Match" with the dashboard mount so that I don't lose the grab handle. The three I am looking at are rail pressure, tranny temp, and egt'sFeel free to put in your 2 cents! Thanks

Hey fellas, I'm having a few issues with my new truck. I'm noticing some noise from the tyranny which I'm thinking is either the pilot bearing or throw out bearing. If I'm tearing down to fix what type of clutch should I use? The other issues are I took it for an alignment and was told that my lower ball joints have slack, outer tie rods ends have slack, and the bushings are bad on sway link kit on front! What kind of parts are best on these trucks?

  20. Started by Mopar1973Man,

First off I can say there is no error codes to the APPS sensor. There is a wastegate error (IIRC) P0234. Still there is a dead pedal issue but no codes. I want to verify that I should replace the APPS sensor or not first. When it does dead pedal the exhaust will set and and no throttle. @Taz said yesterday he had no exhaust brake at all and dead pedal 4 times in 15 miles. Any help?
