I have been looking around at aftermarket aluminum rims, and it looks like 5" backspacing is the only common option available in 17X9 w8X6.5 lug?? My steel OEMs have a 6 1/4" backspace. This would look great with my free spin hubs, but I`m just curious what the wider stance looks like. Anybody have some good pics??

I am stuck in Edwardsburg Mi. I have an 08 2500 4x4 standard with 420,000 miles on it. I been using the smarty sr with cal delete for about a yr now with no issues. It is set at the lowest possible setting for fuel economy. The other night I pulled in my buddies drive way and backed up on a small incline. The truck began running really rough like it was hitting on about 3 cylinders. I turned it off and waited a few minutes it fired up still running rough. I was a little low on fuel about 1/8 of a tank. The next morning I tried to start it but it would not start. It turned over fine but would not fire. I changed the fuel filter since I had a spare in the tool box. That did…

Does anyone have some good pictures of a leveled 3rd gen with a 275/70/18 wheel and tire set up? I currently have to buy a new transmission and I also need tires, needless to say I'm on a tight budget. I'm considering downsizing from my 325/65/18's to 275/70/18 for a $250 savings. Any other advice is welcomed as well, thank you.

A friend of mine's boss has a 04 and it keeps blowing pump seals. He is putting in the fourth pump tomorrow, there from Auto Zone. I told him that's the problem, lol you would think one of them would hold. Anyone had this problem?

I have a head scratcher. Whenever I fill up, truck is low on power for the next 20-30 minutes. The truck will usually die, ONE TIME, the first time you let off to stop. This can be one mile down the road or twenty miles. Cranks right back and won't die again. We have tried not topping off the tank, leaving cap off, and fueling at different tank levels. Lift pump is new. Truck runs fine with full power after 20-30 miles. Power comes back gradually, it's not like flipping a switch. Engine temp doesn't matter. Thanks

Well, I finally pulled the trigger and ordered a set of Spintec hubs and Dynatrac ball joints last week. The hubs came in yesterday.. The first thing that struck me was the size of the MM lockouts.. They are nearly half again the size of the ones on my old GMC. I`m going to go ahead and bite the bullet and purchase the Miller/Mopar press tools $$$.. I helped a guy change ball joints on one side of his 04 using a rented universal press and it was so frustrating I don`t want to deal with it on mine doing all four. I`ll try to get some pics posted when I get going.

  11. Just had a link to this e-mailed to me from another Dodge forum. Just wondering what everyone else's take is on this system, good, bad or just more hype like 99% of the rest of the ones with high claims but no results other than to drain our pocket books. http://ecofuelmaximizer.com/

Its been a while since I've on here so I have to say I'm sorry! Life has been crazy to say the least. One of the things I've been dealing with is something with my truck... I had my injectors tested and they came back bad so I had mine cleaned, extrude honed, flow tested and balanced. They all came back at 29lpm, put them in my truck following all torque specs to the T, truck runs better and has no more throttle hang! Now comes the help part.... Before the injectors were tested I had this vibration start, it vibrates at idle and while cruising more so under acceleration but when I'm in the throttle at higher speed 65+ it's smooth like it should be. I've b…

Traveling down to SEMO on Friday for my annual snow goose hunt; we had an "occurrence"!!! About 100 miles into the trip, I notice my LP pressure dropping down to about 5-7psi less than normal. Thought it may be weather related; as it was in the single digits driving. I was thinking possibly fuel gelling, but hoping not. But I just happened to glance at the OEM idiot gauges on the dash, and my "changing/alternator" gauge is running well below 14 on the gauge. In fact it was running at where it does after starting the truck up.....................not bottomed in the red, just real low and not normal. Tell my traveling Bud, "We may have a problem here". So I g…

Heard the tick, tick backing out of the garage this AM. Went to work, and got home 30 minutes ago. Just got done checking the axle u-joints, and I've got a dry cap on the drivers side!! I just greased the front end less than 4000 miles ago, and the axle u-joints looked good. I got grease to ooze out all the caps back then.Anyhow, if I'm gonna have the front end apart again, I'm going with a free-spin kit to save on doing axle u-joints every 50-60,000 miles. Just wondering what the resident experts here thought was the best/most economical kit to go with. There's DynaTrac, SpynTech, and I think one or two others.Must be all the trailer maneuvering I do at the barns I w…

Been several years since doing anything to ol trusty.... my 05. Getting older and having a hearing aid now and having been driving it lately since my 2010 Hemi has been acting up "Found out today I need a tranny overhaul", I find I can't take the drone of straight pipe from cat back in the cab anymore so I ordered a 30" resonator from FTE diesel to see how much quieter it gets, will remove the factory cat at this time as well. Also ordered a Vulcan 3 micron fuel filter kit with pressure sender tap because some day I might actually add gauges lol.

So I need to relocate my Frantz system it is currently located on the exhaust manifold but the metal plate keeps bending and I think I want to relocate it to the frame. So my question is where can I get more of the oil line from? The line is a high temp and high pressure line so exactly how hot? The hose I have been looking at are good for 190 degrees I think that is to low. On Frantz website they want $80 for a a 8 foot section. So any thoughts guidance would be much appreciated.

Front of truck...................cannot hear it in the cab...................all gauges and dash stuff read normally. Sounds like an inconsistent rubbing/grinding. The whole front end of my truck is OEM. I'm thinking it could be alternator, fan clutch, water pump, idler pulley, belt tensioner pulley, or the power steering unit. Anyone wanna take a guess or help a guy out as to where to start?? I'm gonna start by backing off the serpentine belt tensioner and then manually turning all the parts on the front end. Hopefully I'll find the culprit by doing that.......

I have heard that idleing you truck for extended periods is bad?? Well, I have a unique problem in that I work only about a half mile from where I live.. Morning temps are droping into the teens, and soon single digits. I normally go out and strart the truck and let it run for about 15 mins, drive to work, and then let it run at least another 10 before I shut it off and go in... The high idle stays engaged most of the time.. about 1050-1100 rpm Which is worse,, start it up cold, and shut it down cold? or let it warm up as much as possible?

I got T-boned right on the rear axel on Xmas eve. The body shop and insurance finally decided that the rear axle housing is tweaked. So in goes one with 58k from a junkyard. When they picked up the used diff and set it next to what came out the housings are different. Everything measures the same just case differences. So can anybody tell m what the difference is? First pictures will be what came on the truck, the last ones will be of the replacement. Look close at the reinforcement ribs.
