I'm old fashion and it took a long time to feel comfortable putting something into my fuel like the 2 stroke oil. I was always picky with my fuel, keep it clean, filtered and such. Does anyone else run 2 stroke in their farm equipment ?If you do, have their been issues or improvements ?I have a 40 hp Massy and a 28 hp Kubota lawnmower, both diesel. I'm thinking about starting it in them.

So I finally got my gauges pyro, boost and trans, fuel will have to come later. Egt's are higher than my 01. I can set and idle after coming off the hwy seems like a long time before the temp will come down to 250. Running empty at 60mph with some rolling hill she runs 675, have not got her on flat hwy yet. But my fuel mileage is in the can again 13.75 and I thought I was taking it easy on it. I didnt fuel up at my usual place this time, I hope that's it. I am also running Amsoil concentrate, I got a case of the stuff might as well burn it.This is a auto trans so I might suffer a little on mileage due to that I guess. I got a double deep trans pan I need to get put on. Co…

Hello again fellas! i have a issue ive been working on trying to solve for some time now, and I'm to the point where i don't know what else to do or try? I refuse to take to dealership or mechanic to get them to asses or fix it.nothing personal i just enjoy working/ fixing/tearing my own truck. My 04 ram 3500 DRW 4x4 has had slack in the steering for a while. I say that as im driving down the road it feels as if my tires will just dart in opposite directs like every 5 seconds, I'm consistently having to over correct the wheel to keep it somewhat straight, but its impossible? Im surprised I haven't been called in as a DWI suspect! i've put new mastercraft Courser MTX tire…

I have owned my 01 3500 for 4 years now and know just about everything about them. What am I looking for on the CR motor and are there any specific years to avoid and why?

My son-in-law has a 2006 Ram 3500 Dually 5.9 Cummins with a manual six speed. The catalytic converter was stolen while the truck was parked for awhile. My question is: Will there be any adverse side effects if the catalytic converter is replaced with a straight pipe? Smog testing is no longer an issue with the truck. From what I know, I don't think it would be an issue, but I would rather hear from others who might know differently. Thank you, - John

Well the wife found our "unicorn" truck, Mega cab, Manual. and it's even in blue. it's not as clean as i'd hoped it was for only 58K miles. has some hail damage, some small body damage. power seats don't work in all positions. just forward and back. truck runs strong. shifts great. G56. i know they are asking WAY to much. but it has the options we are after. dual climate control. heated seats and a 6 speed trans. http://courtesyautosales.net/2006-Dodge-Ram2500/Used-Truck/Cottonwood-AZ/7831623/Details.aspx It's a single owner truck came from MA to AZ about 6 years ago. some slight rust on unprotected metal, nothing to concerning to me. i …

Was wondering if it is normal for the charging system to be on the low side at first start? Never really noticed this before. The gauge normally shows a charge of over 14 volts, but in the mornings and afternoons when the truck is cold the gauge will stay to the left of 14 volts i guesstimate 12. After a couple of minutes it will return to normal. The motor seems to really rattle when it is below 14 volts, and when it returns to normal the truck seems to come to life and quit rattling. The temp here today was around 50°. does this have to do with the grid heaters or have I got other issues? Hopefully one of these days I will be knowledgeable enough to help someone!…

Truck jelled up during this winter. As I thought Plug it in every night and everywhere I went. Got in at one evening -5°, white smoke, miss, blow by, ran like dog. Drained tank, new fuel filter, new fuel, clean. new injectors, feed tubes, it’s all in correct, and it’s the same. I was leaning towards sensors. This truck has some major issues with electrical. Diesel world is new to me, I can wrench, just can’t seem to make money grow on trees. Need the work horse back and somewhere to start. Hope I’m in the right place.

Hi there I have spent more hours than I care to admit researching how to disable my truck's fuel system?? so I can do some testing of my starter without it actually starting. I have a 2006 Ram 3500 diesel and my year has a very simple tipm with, in my opinion, very few fuses and there are no relays in there as there seems to be in other years. For some reason my owners manual did not even contain the pages showing the fuses and what they are for, however, I believe I have finally found the correct info in that regard. From what I've read I could pull the starter relay or a fuel related relay and that would allow me to crank without starting. The problem is I do…

My 04.5 2500 is very hard starting. It starts when it is plugged in but still cranks over longer than it should. I have checked the relays to the grid heater, and also the amperage from the relays to the grid heater. Most people I talk to about it say that it is probably the injectors but when it's not plugged in and doesn't start there is absolutly no smoke at all coming out of the tail pipe. This makes me think that it is not getting the fuel it needs to start. When it is running it runs good with no hickups or loss of power. If anyone has any ideas I'm open for sugestions before I go and spend 2 grand on injectors.

Took my truck in for new tires, the dealer smashed the caliper when beating the wheels off, and now wants me to pay him $1400 for a brake job. - - - Updated - - - Hit post too quickly. Kicker is, he said the "brakes fell off the truck in the parking lot as we were driving it into the bay"

I have a feb of 2009 6.7 dodge 2500. I was driving home from Houston last Thursday during the tropical storm. A couple of people where stranded in the middle of the road on top of there cars so i figured my truck was high enough to help. I got everyone to safety and pulled a couple cars out and disconnected all there batteries for them. The truck surprisingly held up and got me home. Unlucky for me no good deed goes unpunished right? Two days later i am taking my son to school and the truck dies. All the dash lights come on. The truck did not want to turn over or do anything for that matter. I sat there for about 10 minutes and tried again. It started up and made it to Au…

Okay so I have decided I'm gonna go ahead and give up my 2nd gen for a 2005 4x4 with 127,000 miles with the 48RE. What would be things I need to look into before I pull the trigger on buying it? I did get this image to see if anyone knows what it means sorry about how not visible it is.

so searching i've found several GM posi or G80 lockers for the GM 11.5 rear axle. well i think my 04 has this same axle. would this locker work?? i've not been able to find any advertisement tell me that it'll work in GM or Ram applications. anyone here know? right now i have an open in the front and rear. so even in 4x4 i have 2 wd. i'd like at least 3. i hate having to use 4wd on the slightest of slippery roads.

Hello to all, my first question for fellow 3rd Gen devotees. I have had a recurring, relatively minor irritating issue with my favorite truck. Periodically, with no apparent connection to temperature, work load, or time since last incident. I think it is related to the key (fob has some kind of transmitter inside it). I will start the truck, it fires up, runs for one or two seconds and then shuts down. All I have to do, is switch the key, completely off, wait a few seconds, then restart. It restarts and runs fine, until the next time. Sometimes that is later on the same day, sometimes a few days later, sometimes not for a week or two. My fear i…
