I have had this 05 now for about 8 months and it really gripes me that my 01 will fire right up, half a turn and she fires right off. The 05 on the other hand takes several turns of the eng to start, what the heck is up with that? I usually miss the start up and have to hit it again the second time.

My friend just sent this .... Though this was Photoshop until I did a web search ... If you notice in the 2 web links I have at the bottom, one is for 2005 and the other was 2006. There are more. Has anyone else seen these ? I have yet to see them on the market, unless they found something wrong, cost factors, liability factors, or they think people are not ready for them yet. ***** Radical new tire design by Michelin. The next generation of tires.
They had a pair at the Philadelphia car show. These tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon. The bad news for law enforcement is that spike strips will not work on these. Just think of the …

  6. I got this formula off another site, but figured I'd toss it out here in case anyone else was looking at tuning either single turbos, or compounds...it's really more for balancing pressure ratios between compounds... Pressure Ratio is (atmospheric pressure + gauge pressure)\atmospheric pressureSo an example would be as follows (and I'm using my current setup as the example)Right now, my overall boost is maxing at about 55 psi, and the primary (atmospheric turbo) is maxing at 20 psi. Pressure Ratio is (atmospheric pressure + gauge pressure)\atmospheric pressure, then my two pressure ratios are as follows:(14.7+55)\14.7=4.74 overall Pressure Ratio(14.7+20)\14.7=2.36 Primary…

  8. I have a 2006 ram 2500 5.9 cummins. Engine ran perfect until I had starter and batteries replaced. After that I was getting a code on banks 6 gun tuner saying fuel rail pressure sensor voltage out of range. Then it started surging from 1k to 3.5k and nearly caused me to wreck. Snap on diagnostic showed 1 injector was weak so I bought that and it cured the surge. The mechanic recommended I have the ecm flashed so I took it directly to the dealer and they flashed it. After leaving the dealership when you hit the go pedal hard I had spark knock and it was smoking bad. Had the mechanic ride with the diagnostic equipment and acceleration I'm showing negative 7 degrees timing. …

I have been reading bits and pieces about how the common rail engines have this so called “internal EGR” due to the way the camshaft is ground. People say this is one of the reasons the newer trucks don’t get the same MPG as the old. I can attest that my 1995 1-ton dually with the 12v and NV4500 would get as high as 20 mpg and 22 mpg if I kept the speed below 60 mph. With my 2004.5 3/4 ton 4x4 auto I have never been able to get the MPG into the 20’s no matter how I drive it. Have any of you swapped cams in a 3rd gen CR engine to try and gain back some of the performance and MPG that is lost due to this polluting the cylinder with exhaust? And if so …

As you can see in this video when I am in park or nuetral and rev my engine my RPMs seem to hang for a second and then drop off slowly. I have searched the forums and Ive seen most people say they have a similar issue but it is usually combined with issues while driving like the engine surging while they're driving. I dont have any problems when I'm driving, runs and decelerates fine, it only happens when I rev the engine from idle. Also in these posts I've found most people seem to say that the injectors are causing the problems in these other guy's trucks. Ive think Ive seen one person say it could be a bad torque convertor. I'm personally wondering if it could …

Today I got to spend a few minutes under the front end of my truck (2005 3500 2WD). I noticed the bump stops are really close and have definitely been used. I could not even slide my finger between the rubber and the steel. They appear to have less than 3/4" of space.Even the tie rods are going slightly up hill from the rack to the wheels. I have been pouring money into this truck (all oils, filters, muffler, exhaust manifold gaskets, exhaust brake repair, plus other things I am sure to forget) so I don't want to go buy new springs yet. Any other suggestions?

Hey guys I need your thoughts on these or other serpentine belts. I have 86,000 on my truck now and I think I should change the serpentine belt, but I would like a good one. http://www.puredieselpower.com/catalog/0307-dodge-59l-cummins-gatorback-poly-serpentine-belt-wac-p-33992.html http://www.genosgarage.com/GATES-K081264HD-SERPENTINE-BELT-A_C-03-12-59L-67L/productinfo/GATES-K081264HD/

  19. Hey y'all. I just bought my first diesel and the previous owner was an aftermarket parts dealer. I only had a short time to talk to him on the phone at the dealer and I am now trying to figure out everything he had added. It previously had a smarty chip but it is out now. What I know so far is in the signature. It is also an auto. There are a few things I don't know the purpose of. First is a foot switch on the floor under the e-brake and when in drive, I can't tell a difference when engaged, but when I stop with it engaged it lunges forward and kills the pickup. Does this sound like anything you guys have added before? Second on the engine, the top is not stock. It has t…

  20. HPCR Injector Changes throughout the years Some have asked about changes throughout the years. 1. With the model year 2003-2004 injectors there were problems with the high pressure sealing ring. Bosch solved that problem by changing its design. 2. Another problem was wear on the nozzle needle guidance and tip. Bosch introduced a wear coating on the needle. Bosch improved the particle robustness with that coating on the needle and with a coating on the valve seat. 3. There was a design change in the contact area from the valve piston to the nozzle needle. They eliminated the bigger intermediate pin and changed it to the smaller pin / puck design. That r…
