I know there are tidbits buried all through this site for 'doing this, doing that' to get the most out of the fuel dollar.. Is there a way to compile a trouble shoot- flow chart to guide a diy'er to systematically go through the entire system? especially when something has changed, or is getting worse.. Maybe start with the basics; from engine health, electronic health, driveline health (and of course driver mental health) ... which could have actual measurable values.. and where to start looking, measuring. Then go even further with member tried and true 'mods' that have helped. A…

My fuel filter bowl drain has a constant drip leak out of the drain valve. I have monkeyed with it but can't get it to stop. It was doing about one drip per second but now I have it down to about one drip every 10 seconds. It is still leaking straight on to the engine mount and there is a fuel sheen on everything on that side of the block, and the truck stinks like a diesel leak.Is this common at all? It seems that just the plastic valve for emptying the fuel bowl is what is leaking, or rather, won't close back up completely. Can I buy a new plastic valve or anything to fix this? Some O-ring in there to replace? Thanks in advance

So Ive got two leaks going on, one is leaking out of the drain spout and the other is the plastic housing that screws to the side of the housing. Ive looked at several auto parts stores. I checked napa on line and cant find anything under fuel filter housing. I feel like dodge would just be a waste of time, it would just be discontinued like everything else. Any leads on this?

I installed a fass 100gph a few months ago and its been putting a steady 19 psi at idle and 17 at wot, and for the longest time now ive wanted to remove my stock fuel filter housing and lift pump. So i got to removing the housing and that all went well as did removing the stock lift pump. I left the bracket in plate to support the ecm wires, but i was just wondering what i do with the WIF and Fuel heater wiring. Can i just leave them unplugged without touching anything else (and tape them up) or is there a fuse or something i need to remove so i dont light the truck on fire because of the unplugged fuel heater plug? Please help, need to know asap ?

Can anybody give me filter numbers (fleet guard, etc) for a FASS 150? I've got a friend that needs some and I thought I'd seen a number cross-over somewhere but I can only find it for the Airdog pumps.

I've got a buddy that bought a truck that has a FASS 150 fuel pump and he's trying to find new filters for it. Anybody know of a place in Canada where he could get them? Lots of options south of the 49th but I can't seem to find anything up here.

after my fuel life thread kinda turned into a fuel filter thread, i thought i would just ask what is best.my set up;AD II 165 with AD filters, run to the stock fuel canister, vulcan bif line kit to the vp.i am currently running the stock filters on the AD and the filter in the stock fuel canister is what ever i bought last. it seems the filter in the stock fuel canister no matter where you buy it is the same. in other words i do not have a clue as how good it is. My AD has a WS100 and a ff100-2. i need to order some replacements. thru all the discussions i am not sure which way to go. AH you are the man on filters which ones should i be using. As a father who has one son …

Hi Guys, Just thought I would mention what I have just recently gone through. My fuel gauge line is connected to a small needle vale on the fuel pump and over time, the gauge needle valve has vibrated open. I started to hear this tick while driving and thought I had an exhaust manifold leak. Kept looking and checking and found nothing out of the ordinary. This went on for a while and I was getting frustrated and concerned due to the exhaust burning metal away at the gasket area. One day I happen to watch the fuel gauge as I booted it to pull away in traffic and the gauge needle jumped in time with the "tick" - ahh I thought, has to be the gauge line valve. Adjuste…

Ok guys I have a 2002 dodge ram2500, I have Isspro fuel gauge my gauge started reading below 5psi when I started the truck and would take about 20mins to build up to about 15psi. Before this started as soon as I started my truck the gauge would jump to around 15-17psi. So I thought well my cheap lift pump is going out so i bought another one from the local auto parts since i don't have time to wait on an airdog or raptor to be shiped to me. Got it installed and the gauge reads 2psi let the truck ideal for about 10mins and it went up to 5psi. Only thing I can come up with is the gauge is bad or the isolator is bad, both are only 2 years old. How long do gauges and is…

I'm about to order an Isspro EV fuel gauge for my truck from Vulcan. Their 'kit' comes with: "isolator, 30" universal gauge hose with adapters, tubing kit w/ fittings". For the fuel pressure access, I'm assuming I need the tapped 12mm bajo with seals, as opposed to the other push lock fuel tee's offered.I've read alot on here, and other forums, of guys using needle valves in the system as well (or in place) of the isolator, also a tee fitting in there to still preform direct fuel pressure tests. Believe Mike uses air brake line, I would guess that would be in place of the "universal gauge hose"? Just wondering if I would be better off putting my own 'kit' together, and…

So the next problem to fix! I have been driving the truck down to 1/4 tank, and I'll fill it up. Every so often the gauge will read empty and stay empty for while, and then come up to full. No it stays on empty even after I filled it up all the way, topping off to make sure.. Is there a loose electrical connection?, or is the tank sending unit bad? I looked on the past forums and could not find anything similar,. Thanks.again folks.

I would like to know when your fuel gauge sending unit goes out, does it go all the way to empty? Or does it fool you into thinking you have enough fuel and you just end up running out of fuel?Anyone remember? Thanks very much.

What do you guys think...have Vulcan fuel pressure test gauge. It goes zero to 30 psi. I want to test my 5.4 gas fuel pump. Looking for 20 thru 40 psi. Will gauge break if it goes or (max) 30 psi or will gauge just top out. And I assume vulcans test gauge doesn't care if diesel or gas?

This morning it was -9deg Fahrenheit and I believe it got down below -16 last night. I don't have any fuel additive in my truck as I only run 2 stroke oil. I was able to get the fuel inside the filter warm enough to get me to school with 10 psi of fuel pressure . After some classes I went and bought some diesel 911, and poured a little more than the suggested amount into the tank. The fuel pressure returned to normal as expected. Will having the 2 stroke and diesel 911 in the tank together hurt anything?? Is there a different additive I should use during the winter instead of 2 stroke? Or should combine 2 stroke with something else during the winter? I know plugging it i…
