I was wondering if someone can help me figure out my truck. Sometimes when I start it up and drive it, it drives like a brand new truck. Sometimes I start it up and drive it, it's a dog. I can't figure out what's causing the problem. Fuel pressure is always the same. 19psi running and 16psi driving. All other gauges are in normal range.

  2. Currently I have a mostly stock 2001 Dodge 2500 with an auto tranny (sadly). It has stock injectors (probably original) and a rebuilt hy35 turbo and 5 inch straight pipe exhaust. No stud, no major mods. Have a quadzilla tuner and running a pretty mild tune off it and im trying to go for lower egts. Eventually id like to make 350ish HP and thats about it. It tows regularly 3k to 14k constantly and and does pretty decent at it... Until egts start getting around 1200F. Im trying to find a common Proven setup that works for this application. I do plan on putting an exhaust brake on it at some point and would like to try to steer away from having 2 tur…

I'm about to pull my engine out of the truck to clean it all up, reseal everything that is leaking and put in a new oil pan, and paint the whole thing 'apex red'. First thing is first though, have to pull the tranny. I have a little tranny jack for car transmissions, it wont handle the nv5600 though. So who has suggestions on a good jack that will make this easier???

  4. I have a s363/68/12 sxe turbo, 7x.010 injectors, studs, valair dual disc, and v2 tuning. I’m looking for someone with a similar set up who has good dyno numbers and a hot dyno tune to run on the truck along with maybe using it on the street. Thanks in advance.

  5. Does anyone know what the VP44 requires in Gallons Per Hour fuel flow on a stock engine? Doing a search gives conflicting info with nothing available from Bosch.Filters are rated in flow amounts per hour, not the psi.Mike, you said 45 GPH is enough, forgive me for beginning to wonder about all this, but, even our stock filter on the engine may not be rated for enough flow. Look at the restrictive banjo fuel system. It wouldn't be the first time I could be wrong on something like this, But why isn't this information available on a Google search from Bosch? Some guys are saying we need to increase the size of the return line too.

It's not the ScangaugeII.... Advance Auto was supposed to have one, so I got the Actron scanner. From what I can see, It doe basically the same as the ScangaugeII. After setup... (vehicle make model year engine) it will not only give a code, but what the code actually is. (I'll take codes and confirm either in here or elsewhere)So, here we go! 2000 Dodge 3500, cumminsP0336 crankshaft position sensor A circuitThat probably explains my bonker tachP1689 No communication with electric control and pump module. This probably explains the dying at idle, (sometimes) or an occasional buck..OR (possible light bulb just came on my ti…

I got this P1757 GOV PRESS ABOVE 3 PSI IN GEAR WITH 0 MPH also got P0622 and P1693 the last two for some reason come on at times when I activate my exhaust brake. I have a DTT built transmission and it has some sort of electronic device that substitutes for the transmission shift control under the drivers seat. I am on vacation and just have a bag of tools so lets not scare me I still have to hall the 5th wheel home. I cleared it and all seems good and this happen both time while I was not pulling the trailer just at a stop sign or light. thanks ps I only have internet a couple of time a day at the campsite.

Well the truck just hit 163K miles and I ran out of water this morning. I already knew before I popped the hood because of two things...lol 1. I slowly lost heat in the cab. 2. Truck started to overheat almost immediately after I lost all heat. This happened to me about 2 weeks ago and I didn't think anything of it at first, but from the looks of it I can't find traces of any water leaks anywhere. So I guess I will throw the coolant pressure tester on the truck and see where I spring a leak. I am thinking water pump most likely due to the nature of the beast and the search button feature lol.

My old trans had 350k and still had good detent between gears, let go of shifter and it still had spring in it in other words. It just didnt wont to stay in 5th gear. So I find a rebuild shop in San Antonio, 975 bucks, said a lot of new parts didnt come out and say what new parts, but anyway. I get it home and the first thing I do is open the fill plug and have a look see. Well I should have stopped at the sludge on the in side of the plug and took it back, but NOOOO I keep going, take the plastic cap off where the shift tower goes and there is more paint on the in side than there is on the out, and a little more sludge. I am thinking I should call the SOB, well he's clos…

Got my 5" exhaust in from RSD yesterday and got it on today. Very very pleased so far with the sound and price. $260 to my front door aint bad for a 5" exhaust. With that being said, what some options for me to do next as far as reliability is concerned. Maybe upgrading the clutch just in case I get a wild hair and add some power mods down the road. One maybe not so good thing I found out the other day as I was checking older threads on here the other day, I ran across an old thread on how to tell if you vp44 was stock or not and it said if your vp has a void sticker on it that it was the original. Well guess what, mine has a big ole yellow sticker that says void on…

So anyways I fired up my rig this morning to go help my buddy put a lift kit on his rig. About a mile from my house the check engine light came on:banghead: it was bugging me all day. Got home and scanned it and it is a p07020. Output speed sensor is what it said. Where is it at and is it an easy fix. Can I get this part at NAPA. ????Thanks in advance.Luke

  14. So I got my HX35 swapped on tonight and what a difference!!! I thank all you guys that told me to swap off the old HY before buying injectors. I got my new glowshift pillar gauges on last night so I thought I would see how much boost I was getting with the HY35. The max I could get was around 17psi. Tonight I swapped on the HX35 and installed the pyro probe. The turbo already has a boost elbow in it. On my test drive I was seeing 25 psi and that was on a flat section of road full throttle. My pyro was climbing to around 950 when pinned to the floor. Does that sound about right? I'm running a Superchips D box will it fool the ECM and allow the 25 psi+ boost or wil…

Just got back from the maiden voyage with the RV275s. Took me 3.5 hours to change them. I did take the lines right off like pepsiocean's video. The garbage bag idea was awesome too. My #6 injector line was very loose and leaking so I hope I fixed my poor start if pointed uphill problem. Anyway, I could tell the difference the moment I hit the key. It sounded beefier, but smoother if that makes sense...lol. On the test drive I can hit 30 psi of boost now. Before it would hit 25psi the odd time. That is with the Comp on level 1x5. I don't have the pump tapped yet due to the stupid 5 point torx bolts. I need to borrow a driver bit to install the stealth cover. My stoc…

  18. I spoke to moparman this evening as I was being tow-strapped back home from Melbourne to Orlando by my friend's Duramax. :duh:I had zero symptoms of any problem before this afternoon. While towing my fifth wheel camper home from a race, on flat, level ground as is usual for Florida, I had an instantaneous loss of power. I shifted into neutral and coasted the rig off to the shoulder, and tried to restart. It cranked endlessly but would not fire. I decided to crack the #1 injector open to see if I was getting any fuel, and saw none. Ditto cylinders 3 and 4.Then I cycled the key and verified that I could hear the lift pump operating, and could. I loosened the pressure regul…

  19. So I installed the Raptor FRRP 2 days ago and installed the BHAF today I love the turbo whistle. I built my own tapped banjo bolt but all my fuel psi gauges only go to 15 psi and this pump pegged them to the 6 O'clock postion with the engine not running. Man I have learned alot of stuff on here already. Tomorrow I'm cutting out the convertor and muffler and straight piping it with 3" (for now anyways). I bought a new single billet convertor from a local convertor builder. I also picked up a new input seal and a filter kit and 13 liters of ATF+4. When I have the trans out I want to adjust the bands and clean out the solonoids (or a least the governor solonoid) Does a…

I don't know exactly what did the trick. Went for a test run and pressure is up over 14 on a stock pump. It stays there on wot.All I did was take the top off the stock pump and removed the screen on the inlet side. I know I can junk the screen cause I have a prefilter.Just wanted to let you guys know how it made a difference. I think I can attribute it to that.
