Twice now only with the edge comp on getting on it a little goes in to limp mode scanguage says it’s boost sensor code,replace sensor runs fine with the edge turned off or even with it on it runs good until I get on it,then blows the sensor again, weird. side note I had a 53 block that cracked so I replaced it with a new one,that old engine ran really good with the same edge chip same ecm, wire harness,vp44,sensors swapped over to the new engine,so I didn’t want to blame the chip right off the bat since it worked so well before,any ideas? Guys, I am having some issues about hooking up some of my guages for my 2001 Cummins Quad Cab 4x4. I bought 4 guages (Isspro for my fuel pressure and Auto Meter for the rest) from Cummin Performance Diesel through Jamie. Spent plenty of time of the phone with him an he was extremely helpful. I purchased a trans and exhaust temp guage, boost and fuel pressure guages. I have some questions on the exhaust hookup for the probe. Instructions say to drill into the manifold and tap with a 1/8 npt, not a problem, 1. Wondering if the temp probe would be better in the 4" exhaust right after the turbo vs. the manifold? 2. How do you keep any tap you put in the manifold or exha…

I was traveling, and had to do an Oil change. I traditionally use the Mopar Oil, In this Case, Rotella wa available. SInce the change, after coming in of a highway run with vents on, I get a oil smell in the cab. Think its related? Cant find any leaks etc.

OK guys the ol dodge has developed a new issue when I steer sharp like on a switchback curve I bump in like feeling on the steering when straighting up. I checked for bad wheel bearing and ujoints in the front and tie rods and bal joints all is tight a also checked and added some power steering fluid even though it was still above the add mark could a power steering pump be causing this

After changing my fuel filters, if it doesn’t kick off within 30 seconds, I usually grab a rag, pour some lawn mower gas on it, give rag a good squeeze until gas stops dripping out, open up air box, lay rag on air filter, (starter has rested by now), and turn the key. After it fires off, remove rag real quick. Engine does rev up a little, for few seconds but not bad. Today yacking with neighbor who is changing his filters on his back hoe says big mistake. This truck isn’t my daily so it sits days at a time. I inherited a 99 Cummins with issues and have been working through them. Random no start, replaced cps, problem fixed. Random loss of tach and acceleration, replace apps, problem solved. Then one day I’m driving and the trans goes into limp mode, I don’t have time to deal with it so I park it for a couple weeks. When I go to pull it in i can manually put it in first but if I just use drive it’s still in limp mode. The alternator is also not charging now. For whatever reason neither of my scan tools (mx808, Verdict) can communicate with the transmission. However I can see the ECM and I have code p1693. I check power and …

just recently swapped an auto for a nv4500. truck still runs, but occasionally will coast then surge ahead with a jolt. I have had it to the dealer and a private shop to have the ecm and pcm re-flashed, niether place could do it. Any ideas or will I have to buy a reman or junk yard computers?

Hey guys on my 99 24V when ever my tank gets to 1/4 tank my truck goes into a lim mode, truck will still tell me I have X amount of miles until empty. Won’t leave 1st gear or exceed 20MPH. I think it’s something todo with the sending unit but really not sure any help is greatly appreciated

My truck usually fires right up '99 4x4. 160k miles It started cranking longer a while back, but if I turn the ignition on and wait a few seconds for the lift pump to start it will fire right up I thought it was the fuel filter heater grommet Oring(stock fuel filter). slight seegage Well I finally resealed the grommet. But I still get long cranking if I jump right in and try and start, unless Im patient and wait a few seconds for the lift pump to run then it starts right up. Hi, just experienced the fifth gear problem yesterday, i was hauling my trailer, when all of the sudden i hear a noise and vibration from the transmission. After that my fifth gear will not work any more, luckily made back in fourth. Today we drop the transmission to see what was the problem, and i find that the nut on the mainshaft came loose and my fifth gear and mainshaft gear were gone. I've been searching on the internet and found out this is a typical problem for the NV4500 transmission. Just ordered the gears and need to order the nut also. So I've got 4th gear hunt on my truck. It is intermittent. I've had the alternator tested every which way and it always comes out good, be it bench testing, on car etc. It's also pretty new. I've gone ahead and done that ATS fix to bypass the ECM, but immediately threw a p0123. I did an apps reset, tried to clear the code and still there. Truck runs ok, but I'm at a loss. I'm supposed to roll out for my trip on Sunday. Any thoughts?

What is the verdict on using a Fram BHAF? I have used Fram oil filters on my truck for 85k miles without any problems. I used Fram Air Filters on my truck before I got the S&B Cold Air Intake. I think the S&B upgrade was a waste of money. Additionally, I have run Fram filters in most of the vehicles I have owned over the past 50 years. Mohok

Hello everyone. I'm on my third APPS in less than a year in my 2000 2500. Once replaced, code 0122 is gone, but I then get 1693. The APPS have lasted anywhere from three months, to three days, to even six hours. Then, the surging at around 50-55mph(after OD kicks in, if I'm not gettin on it)starts again. It will even do it with no code 0122 or check engine light. I have zero experience in how ECM and PCM codes work. If the 1693 isn't cleared after replacement, will it still think there is a problem, and could that be causing this screwy, vicious circle?

Hi guys, New VP44 installed a week ago. I also have the raptor 100 mounted in the stock location with stork fuel lines. The pressure is dropping about 4-5 psi at wot and about 1.5-2 psi at cruising speed. I'm trying to avoid another vp44 replacement.....ever :banghead:. Would a vulcan big line kit be beneficial to me to help keep the pressure up? Thanks in advance for all replies, and thanks for the wealth of knowledge on this site. 2002 Ram 25005.9 Cummins
