  1. been out hunting this week. i noticed at least twice, when the air temp was in the mid 50s and my truck had been sitting for at least 10hrs(and unplugged), my grid heaters didn't kick on(wait to start, idle, or, low speed driving). someone suggested that there might be a fuse link in the wire from the battery to the relays, but both had voltage thru the wire when i checked it with a DVOM. what should i check next? or am i jumping the gun, and its not cold enough for the ecm to start the grids? ISX does the 12v PCM run the grids? didn't you wire a switch for those?

Hey all, I've been looking for info on the issues my 47re is starting to have and I can't seem to find a set of issues that is the same as what my truck is having, so I need some help troubleshooting. I'm a broke college kid and I need my truck up and going strong for winter snow removal but can't afford to have the trans professionally done. Starting about a week ago, the trans started slipping from a dead stop. This didn't happen often (maybe 5% of the time) and still isn't happening often, but now I get this whooshing/whistling noise once in a while and the truck won't shift cleanly into 3rd. I have to be going over 2000 rpm and then drop below 2000 while mainta…

  3. On my 1999 I used to go to the hardware store and buy a small roll of window screen. Each spring I would put in a new piece and remove it in the fall. But while traveling pulling hard grades hauling heavy and hotter weather I have over heated a time or two. Just would like to see what others have been doing with this issue also.

Hi all, So I recently upgraded my ancient FASS lift pump to a Fuel Boss mechanical lift pump from Glacier Diesel Power. It has a bypass valve that allows fuel to return to the tank at a certain psi. I bought a "Tuning Kit" for that valve so that I could set the pressure exactly where I want it. I have been trying to get it just right but I keep ending up with it either a little lower, or a little higher than I want. I need help figuring out if I am looking for the wrong number or what, and where I should set it. I have in my head that anything over 20 is too high but at the same time I don't want it to get too close to 15 either lol. After messing with it for a few h…

I recently installed a new Timbo APPS and everything went fine - that was about five days ago. Truck drove well (improved on OEM) and no CEL.Today I used the truck and got a check engine light come on for the first time ever .I will check the truck wiring in the morning - too p*ssed off right now to do anything remotely serious. When I checked the codes (using my Autel Maxiscan MS300 ODB11 Code Reader), I got P0216 - Fuel injection pump timing and P0222 - Apps voltage low. The truck runs fine and sounds good - nothing unusual happening so far.Has anyone have an idea of what the P0222 would cause - fuel pump timing error due to low signal voltage?Anything I need to be conce…

  7. I have had a 99 Ram 2500 for 15 years... but, sadly, I had to smash that truck..... I went and found another, and I am in the beginning stages of making 2 trucks into one epic machine... I will be around here for a bit...I was actually a member of this site about 10-12 years ago... Couldn't remember my old login, so I made a new one... I guess my beast was pretty damned reliable! So, this new truck has these aftermarket transmission lock up boxes on it, and I've never had to deal with them before... I had the trans in my old truck built to the hilt, indestructible!!! $7000... I was pushing 500hp/1000ft/lb... No problem.... Its built for 1000 Ft/Lbs…

Ok, So I bought this 02 6 speed quad cab dually back in april. No body on the back, getting ready to put on a nice utility body. Been doing lots of fix-up, new brakes/calipers/rotors/wheel bearings/dana 80 clutch re-stack/u joints/air bags/ etc etcSo, soon will be ready to put the body on but first want to do the lift pump since right now my tank is easily accessible.I've researched and asked this question over at the cumminsforum.com But there are sooooo many different reccomendations/types/styles/price ranges of lift pumps. It's confusing man! :think:I just want the simplest & most reliable. For now I'm happy with the factory power, maybe more power upgrades in t…

So interesting development on truck. Lately after initial startup the truck lopes real bad and would probably stall unless I gave a little fuel. After some throttle she's fine and first return till next startup Thinking air leak or ECM issue at startup that levels off Leaning air leak Fuel psi is steady at 15 psi before and after

Hey guys I've been having this issue for a while now and I can not figure it out. My truck has a bad miss when cruising through town and about 35mph in 4th gear rpm is around 1500. It will do it in any gear in the 1400-1800rpm range it's just worse at 35 and 55mph. Its not throwing and codes and I just put in a new IAT and crank sensor neither have changed how it runs. I put a map sensor in it last summer so that's fairly new also. It does it with and without the quadzilla plugged in and ive had a few different injectors in it in the past year and all have done the same thing including the stock injectors so i dont think that could be the problem. Could it be the APPS? An…

I don't want to start a war but I need to change oil. Any oil recommendations? I've been using full synthetic amsoil for the last 3 changes. But wondering if there's a better option.

My 01 Dodge 6speed is stuttering between 1350-1600 RPMs periodically. Its occurs under acceleration, typically at about 1450 RPM give or take 75 RPM. Never seen it happen above about 1600RPM. Its like a loss of power for about the count of .5 of one. Enough to know it occurred and then its back to normal. It seems to happen in the first 30 minutes of run time while the truck is still cold or cool. Fuel filters are new in the past 6 months (probably less then 10k miles) and its been occurring through at-least five tanks of fuel. I have re loaded my Quad Adrenaline tune and that does not seem to have an affect, i have …

  14. I acquired one from an 01 with an auto so I figured it would work on my 02 auto but just figured I would see if someone had a definate answer. I read on another forum that 01 was a cruise switch year from vacuum to electric and it may not operate the cruise if it came off an early 01 and to plug and play to see if the gauges work. No biggie as I can go to Dodge to get it reflashed if need be.Another forum posted that they are interchangable if both were autos.

Hi all. I'm wondering if I'm headed in the right direction here:Yesterday while out and around I noticed the Edge comp was reading 0 boost continuously. At one point while accelerating it started jumping between 0 and 15 psi, which I could definitely feel, pulled hard while it read boost, then felt and sounded like it was lugging when 0 boost. Took it home and checked for way obvious stuff, unpluggled connectors, damaged wires, found nothing. Decided to take it to Autozone to have the codes pulled and on the way there the Edge started squawking an alarm that the boost was running at 40 psi, and did it when I let off the throttle to slow down. The only code that came ou…

  16. I knew this day would come. I checked this morning after a seeming fail on my way home last night, according to my guage. Bearing radial clearance test failed. I don't have a tuner in my truck at this point. I will likley put one in later. I was trying to address any and all actual harware issues first to get everything working as best as possible. It looks like @Mopar1973Man is happy with his HX35/40 Hybrid (60/60/12). Would it make sense for me to put one of these in my truck based on the assummption that I will eventually put a tuner in the truck. Is that a bolt in solution or is there some fancy footwork that would …

I know most people run pennzoil, amsoil, or redline. I’ve ran royal purple for the past few years but I decided to give the valvoline brand a shot. The part numbers for mopar are on the bottle. Been driving for 8k so far and been good with daily driving and towing, trans temp seems be run the same as royal purple. Shifts smooth. Don’t know how it compares in the cold yet, but I don’t think it’ll be a problem.

  19. I started my ball joint replacement today. It took a while to find the 1-11/16 socket. All the sears around me were out of them and the parts stores wanted 40$+. I am down to removing the Hubs. I tried the socket and power steering trick to no avail. Sledge hammer did not work either. Hubs have had a daily dose of PB blaster since Wednesday. Going to try a portapower tomorrow. I think I can get in to bite on the outer C. any other suggestions? Any homemade hub pullers? Do the Hub pullers push on the axle shaft? I have searched both forum and could not find much. Thanks Eric

I have never had a fuel leak, but low and behold... When I power down, I get a drip off the bottom of the transmission.... I put a cup under it and collected a small amount, but enough to realize it sucks... Seems to be related to pressure in the lines as it stops after 10-minutes or so. Any ideas where to check for the most common fuel drips?:confused:
