Lots of guys are getting their race car rigs stolen. There seems to be a rash of them going on. I have to park my rig at motels when traveling and was wondering if pulling the fuel relay would be a good thief deterrent? Would it screw up anything doing it several times a year? Or does anyone have any other good easy anti thief ideas?

1999 Dodge 2500, 24Valve, 4x4, Automatic Transmission, I have dropped the transmission pan to do an oil and filter change. Got all the oil drained out and filter removed. I then proceed to adjust the rear band. I am new the adjusting bands, but consider my self a good mechanic(until now), So I back off the tension nut. set the torque wrench to 72 lbs. Starting turning. It getting really tight and then the adjusting screw starts to strip, so I stop. I have realized that I have the wrench on 72 FOOT pounds not INCH pounds!:banghead::banghead::banghead:. I only got to about 30ft pounds when it striped. After about two hours of trying I have got the adjusting screw removed. I…

I'm having a hard time finding a HX35 to replace my Hy35. So I have been surfing ebaymotors and there are several vendors selling them for around $300. Have any of you guys tried one? Are they junk? Also I was searching for a gauge pod set up and found some stuff made by Glowshift. They are about $200. I'm assuming they must be junk if they are that cheap. I'm wondering if any of you guys have any experience with them? Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone im pretty new to the whole forum thing as you can tell. I have been having some issues with my truck recently and cant seem to figure it out so that is what led me here as i know mopar1973man is a very reputable person throughout the forum community. I have a 1999 2500 24 valve automatic with the dreaded VP44. The truck is stock other than a five inch straight pipe. When I purchased the truck the man told me that the IP had been replaced before an gave me that receipt which says it was done around 150,xxx. Earlier I went out and started my truck let it warm up for about ten to twelve minutes an went on my way might i add it is around 48 to 50 degrees here whe…

Ok here is anew question you guys may be able to help me with. My return line coming from the brass"T" is leaking right at where the rubber hose coupling meets the metal tube. Is it possible to completely do away with the coupler and just cut the hose and just ad a clamp to it, or does it need the fancy coupler??

Well gang I figure I do a simple little show and tell of the 24V injectors for ya... Here is a stock 24V injector (235 HP) Now lets break it down into pieces... (Body, spring shim. spring, pintle seat, mid-body, pintle, nozzle, collar nut, and the copper shim) Ok some people don't understand how small the nozzle holes are... Here is a 10x Mag of the nozzle tip. With and Without pintle in the nozzle take notice to the upper hole that is the fuel hole. This hole routes the fuel down tip so it can push the pintle back against the spring when the pressure over comes the pop pressure of the spring. Here is the pintle needle... …

Ok so here it goes. Bought my first cummins back in January, 2001 24v totally stock with an edge comp box. It had a bad oil leak so i tried to wash off the crud to help locate the leak ( yeah i know bad idea ) got side tracked and didn't mess with the truck for almost a week. When i did get back to it, it was a no start so i put a code reader on it an got a laundry list of codes. Long story short i came to the conclusion that it was the ecm, so i replaced it. Installed it, truck runs but if you touch to go pedal it dies instantly. Sent it to the shop. Replacd injection pump, lift pump, cam sensor and fixed the tappet cover leak. Still same problem. Sent ecm back thinking…

Ok I know I have the edge juice with attitude and cts! I'm using it to monitor all my gauges! But I'm thinking about putting in a 3 gauge pillar mount, going with 60psi boost, 100psi fuel and egt gauges! What brand do you fellows recommend using? What is the best?

Omg the starter is super easy to remove rebuild and install!!! i removed the filter assembly for easy access to the top bolt but after i loosened it from underneath.as typical the battery side was burnt away and replacement of them was simple. i took the end off the motor to inspect the brushes and commutator and the look new but used, plenty of life on them!!

i have posted before about my 6 speed and it jumping out of 1st, rev, and 6th. today i was coming home and went to shift for m 4th to 5th and it stuck in 4th. it did shift into 5th but it took some effort to get it out. it now no longer will go into 4th. it pulls into the position but does not engage the gears. 3rd is clashing just a wee bit but working fine while in gear. it never made any noises just stuck ther in fourth until i forced it out. i am sure i have to either rebuild or replace the tranny. i have had a hard time finding any one who wants to work on that six speed. i know some of you out there have 6 speeds and i was hoping you have had some good experiance wi…

Is it really necessary to replace the heavy duty battery cables on our Cummins or would the regular size gas powered truck battery cables work the same as they are also twelve volt ? I ask because on my 1990 Cummins I replaced the ground cable with a gas powered cable and everything worked fine. Just a thought.

I changed the injectors yesterday, it was my first time doing that. For the most part everything went well, usless you count me dropping a screw driver twice in between the intercoooler and radiator. While I was in there I adjusted the valve lash and that went pretty well. I took a picture of my cross over tubes, as this is the first time pulling them, I didn't know if this was normal. The o rings were all still in place but you can see how they had deformed and created a mess above their groove. Everyone of them were like this. The o rings themselves were all still in tact but in pretty bad shape, not sure how much longer they would have gone before I would hav…

Guys Didn't know where to put this post, trailer/RV or here. Sorry if this is the wrong place but I am thinking about installing an exhaust brake on my 2000 dodge 3/4 ton. Looking for suggestions on which one to get. I already have a Banks 4inch exhaust with the power elbow. Thinking about a BD or a Pacbrake. Any thoughts?

AirDog Draw Straw installation You will need a 15mm socket and 1/2 ratchet for the bands on the tank. You'll also need a flat blade screwdriver, hammer, floor jack, and a ratchet strap. The way I remove the fuel tank is to place the jack under the tank just to support the weight. Then wrap a ratchet strap around the fuel tank and hook it to the jack pivot pin. Tighten the strap lightly not enough to crush the tank. You need to take a screwdriver and hammer and lightly tap on the sender ring and loosen the ring up to allow the sender to stand up out of the fuel tank. No need to unhook any lines leave that alone for now. Now using a 15mm socket you can remove the two nu…

Hello I have an early 2001 2500 4X4 sport with rear drum brakes, I am in the process of changing brakes and I am looking for some help. I purchased the brake hardware kit and the one the parts store(orielys)shows for my truck is not correct. Any one have any idea's or maybe had the same issue before. I would like to see an exploded parts breakdown if anyone has a link I would really appreciate it. It appears the shop that did the job last put left and right on the wrong sides the auto adjusters where not contacting the star wheels, the shoes look new no wonder I had such lousy brakes I complained to them several times and got no satisfaction. Was unable to do them the l…
