I normally invoice all my work but I couldn't remember when the last time I'd changed the engine coolant. I came across these coolant test strips for $7.99 and free shipping. Tried them out and seam to work well telling me my coolant is over 60% antifreeze and the Ph is 7.0. It not recommended with red or orange coolants. So spending $8 has saved me over $45 in antifreeze and distilled water and an hour of labor. With 50 to a bottle the average vehicle owner has a life time supply. https://www.amazon.com/Cool-Trak-311519-Coolant-Testing-Strips/dp/B000MIUJMO/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1466743866&sr=1-1&keywords=coolant+test+strips

Im having a strange issue occasionally. I have a 98.5 with a 5 speed transmission. When I let the clutch out, the truck usually kicks the throttle up and the truck starts to move without adding fuel from the pedal. It has recently started not doing this requiring me to use the pedal to start from a stop. Its intermittent and seems to do it when the engine is cold. The truck has RV275s and a new injection pump recently. Everything else is stock. Thanks BIll

I have been having some issues on with hard steering at idle, along with intermittent 4wd, and slow, or non responsive heater controls... I have been trying to track down vacuum leaks, but havent come up with anything, but a very tiny line with a break near the passenger side firewall... I am wondering if the pump may be bad? I did find a receipt in the truck for a new PS pump installed in 2015, and I know the guy only put about 2000 miles on the truck in all that time... could one have something to do with the other? are they a single unit? Thanks for the info, and help guys!

2001 Dodge 2500-manual trans. Problem started when I lost prime voltage to lift pump CEL (check engine light P1693 code) power supply wire tested at 8.2 volts in the start prime position but I had good voltage in run. Sent ECM in for testing repairs. -Repaired/tested ECM had good lift pump voltage after repairs, no codes or CEL but severely delayed throttle response to the point it was un-drivable. Tested APPS as per Mopar1973 posts. -ECM Vendor provided replacement rebuilt ECM, Truck runs, good voltages to lift pump, as soon as I pull onto the road I get CEL/MIL P1693 code unable to pull any other sub codes. Used 3 different OBD II scanners with nothing. -Repl…

  6. Hey guys. First time poster. Long time reader. I've got an interesting problem that has just popped up. My wait to start light is no longer coming on and at the same time, my high idle fooler no longer can be controlled, it just keeps the truck in 3 cylinder high idle when it sits and idles for any period of time. I can still see the grid heater cycling, dropping my volts and dimming my headlights. Am I correct in guessing this has something to do with my IAT sensor? I've dealt with all kinds of stuff on this truck, but nothing like this as of yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My first time on one of these Second gear band was either broken or completely worn out. I have a 2002 HO with 241K miles. It has been sitting for the last year or so as I haven't been able to get it running. Was driving along one day and it shut off, never to run again. Overhead reads ccd after about 10 seconds. No start, no wait to start light, no transfer pump. My generic code reader doesn't indicate any codes present. I have messed around with it on and off for the last year or so, trying about everything in every forum I've found. As I'm writing this, I have every module disconnected (except overhead) and no difference. Initially I had around 1 volt to ground on each of the bus terminals. At the moment, it's up to about 2.5v on each terminal. …

I had all Chevy wiring stripped and tied everything into the dodge fuse panel. Now I just have to customize my dash to get dodge cluster in there. And put my rear bumper on. 208B7267-28B4-44D2-8B65-FA39AD1F0142.MOV

  11. I am on my 3rd fill up with 1oz of Super Tech 2cycle per gallon of fuel. Maybe coincidence! I use to bump the starter and engine immediately fired up. Now it takes 2-3 seconds of cranking. Stock transfer pump installed 36,000 miles now at 98,500 miles. Fuel pressures no load on truck: Idle 14psi, 75mph 10psi, on interstate WOT 8-9psi - this is monitored before the fuel filter. Fuel filter changed 94,000 miles FS19598 Fleetguard. Recent fill up 178 mile trip with 301 mile trip next day and there was a vacuum when removing OEM cap on tank. Even if I bump starter and pressure builds still 2-3 seconds of cranking. Any ideas

Is it possible that my timing is advanced all the time? In other words if the sensor (name eludes me) has failed, can it stay in advance all the time? I keep thinking that my truck sounds advanced all the time? When I install the fooler, if the sensor is faulty will fooler retard the timing when set to mpg?

I’ve been noticing that my coolant temperature has been running higher than normal at high speeds (75-85 mph, 2500ish rpm). Around town and slower highways it runs around 185-195, but run the rpm up and coolant quickly rises to 210-215. It drops down to 185 only a few second after I drop the rpm. I also tested this in 2nd gear locked @ 40 mph/2600 rpm, temp quickly rises to 215 but will fall to 185 in 3rd or 4th gear. I don’t normally drive around at 2600 rpm, but with 4.10 gears and an 80 mph speed limit it gets close. I recently swapped out the thermostat with a new NAPA 190* because it was not getting to operating temp and I figured it was st…

I just found a HX35g turbo for sale cheap. I was damaged in storage with zero miles. I cant find it anywhere so I cant check the specs and from what I have found it is water cooled and was a gas application. Only the cold side outlet is damaged and was wondering if I might be able to just use the center section as a replacement for myHX35W when it goes.

I bought my truck with this "built" tranny... built for supposedly 8-850 hp. The snap at each gear is somewhat annoying.. alleviated somewhat.. if I guestimate when it's going to shift and back off the throttle for a softer shift. What can I do about this? Find another tranny and have it built to better suit my needs? Adjust this one somehow? Let me know... please.
