I have gone over every single ground and have done every test in the world on this truck! I am getting the peek-a-boo instrument cluster, it will work, then it won't(No bus) and I am at a loss! I even took the time to remove the ECM and clean all the contacts and scrub the ground points on the block behind it,by the way guys, not a bad idea to do that on high mileage trucks when you change your fuel filter you can get to the ECM really easily and mine had that white build up on it. Anyhow, the codes I get when the dash dies are.......900920921940950999I did the self check on the cluster and ALL the lights work. I also did the PCM connections including the white, square com …

Yesterday I heard a 2nd get start in a parking lot. Very throaty and the turbo spool up was also very obvious at start and idle. Is this possible with just exhaust work or is this a turbo upgrade too?

My 2001 RAM 2500 24V Cummins Automatic (56K Miles) goes from dead pedal starting at 2000 RPM in 1st gear to having the transmission disengaged above 2000 RPM. Sometimes I can rev the engine but it acts like the truck is in neutral. The truck will drive in first gear, as long as I stay under 2K RPM. I have replaced the APPS, same problem. The error codes are:P PCUCP 0720P ECUP 1693 Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a vintage 2001 24 valve 3500 ram with a 5 speed manual trans. When the temps outside get below 40*F the truck is hard to start. The colder it is the worse it gets. However, if the truck has been plugged in over night, it will start fine. The other evening the truck was cold (about 45*F) and had not been plugged in, so I used my wifes hair dryer in the air box to supply hot air (it worked previously), it tried to, but no start and the batteries ran down trying. So I tried to pull start it. As soon as I let off the clutch in 3rd gear it started! I have tried new batteries and my fuel pressure is 15 psi at idle and 10-13 psi at WOT with a FASS DDRP lift pump. I …

I like having information to make educated decisions, so I've been reading as many forum posts from as many different forums as I could find and I've come to the decision that I now have a headache. I've got a few questions that I'm not finding answers for, so it's my turn to ask...Is there a difference in reliability between lift pumps that are externally adjustable for pressure +/- (eg Raptor, AD2 system, FASS adjustable) and those that need to have springs replaced (eg. most other FASS, AD system)? I do like the idea of external adjustability to fine tune fuel pressure. But is the external screw only compressing a spring to increase/decrease pressure as opposed to swap…

I think I cleaned my cables for the last time, Its time to replace them all. So ive been looking into a set from custom cables, but for 300 bucks I think I could build my own for about 1/2 the cost. I was thinking about going with 2/0 size for both sides and using a good quality military style clamps, As far as the cable I don't know if I should spend the extra money and use marine grade cable or if welding cable/ automotive cable in the same size would be just as good. And is crimping the best way to fasten all this together rather than soldier,

So I was coming home from being stateside late last nite bored, (just under 2000 miles in 2 days), and tired and ended up in a race , just to amuse myself, with a little foreign sports car of some sort. After impressing myself with atop gps speed of 121mph, I slowed back down to my cruising speed of around 77mph. About 5 minutes after the run, I pulled into a coffee shop for 5 minutes and when I started my truck, it had a knocking noise in engine. Drove another 150 miles to home, never got any worse. No bass pressure, no filings in bass, besides the noise, it's working perfect. It sounds louder on driver side close to half way. Gonna pull her apart on Monday. What do y…

Going to try to put all the information into the first post so it will all be in here: Truck - 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 extended cab, 5.9L Cummins, 113,000 miles (Barn Find) I have had this truck since 78,000 miles, driving it two years now. About 3 months before I bought the truck lift pump was not working and the guy (that found it in a barn) kept driving it around with a hard start condition for about a month before putting on an Airdog on the frame. He owned the truck for 3 months. I buy the truck, runs great for a year and starts having a dead pedal issue. It was throwing codes for TPPS and the P0216 code. Replaced TPPS w…

So I finished rebuilding my truck the other day. Started right up and took it out a few times, ran and drove great. The last time however, I took a corner and accelerated and my gauges went nuts. The water in fuel, check engine, check gauges lights all came on and my oil pressure gauge also reads 0. I have no idea what's going on or why that happened? Ran the truck a little after the fact and it still runs and idles fine without any excessive noise so I don't think it really has no oil pressure. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

Injection Pump Failure. Time to do some work to my truck. I'm just posting up to ask for recomendations in Fuel Pressure Gauges, and Aftermarket Lift Pump improvements. I'm hoping to make the repair in my home garage, so the easier to install options would be a plus. I see many writeups on the job, but any tips would also be welcomed. At this time I am leaning towards an airdog 100 lift pump. Thanks in advance for any information. Dave

Been noticing a change in the sound of my truck the last month or so but still working the same, no smoke, no hard starts etc. Tonight I got dead pedal about 5-6 times when towing my trailer. Did the odmometer read and its showing the 216 code which I know what it means. My question is this..each time I got dead pedal I looked and I'm still holding 17-19 psi with no drop. Only drop I see in pressure is now at an idle im at 12-13 instead of the usual 16psi. Is dead pedal normal when holding good psi? Calling around about pumps tomorrow unfortunatley

How much in safety am I giving up if I go to LT235/85/16E A/T in hopes of improving fuel MPHs? 2001 Ram 2500HD Diesel 4sp A/T. Have done the Banks Power Pack deal and A/B Cold Air Filter with no increase in MPHs.
