You guys got to check this out... Below article is from... http://www.dieselbombers.com/alternative-fuels-additives-fluids/953-2-stroke-oil-thread-13.html#post482310 After calling back the military testing facility in Manching, bavaria I got some interesting news. -It doesn't matter what kind of Diesel engine 2-stroke oil is added. It is designed as an lubrication and cleaning aid. It burns itself cleaner than Diesel. -recommended mixture is 1:200 down to 1:250. A higher mixture will devlop blue smoke again. - Use of 2-stroke oil is demanded, when not knowing the source of Diesel or assuming impurities or dilluted Diesel. This is what every…

Gents,Have been slowly upgrading my 2500 Cummins and getting it the way it should be. With everyone's assistance it now has a full set of gauges and a Raptor LP and drawstraw. Using a Edge/Attitude but its pretty much there just for the gauges. The wire to the VP44 is not even hooked up so running at level 1. Had the truck for a year or so and know it pretty well. Was getting 23-24 mpg on the overhead gauge in town, and 26-27 on the highway. No towing, running 60-65 or so, usually not faster. Did some work over in SoCal recently so filled up on the Arizona side of the border ($2.72!) and headed home. Did 670 miles before filling up again and it took 27 gallons. Overhead d…

Hey I've got a question about prefilling filters whether they be fuel or oil. What about the unfiltered oil/fuel that enters the engine? Any concern here? Not sure if this is the proper thread for this question:shrug:

My buddy that I go drag racing with has a 98.5 with a 47RE in it. After racing this past weekend he asked me when does my converter lock when I'm going down the strip. I told him that it locks between 75 and 80 MPH. He was suprised and said his didn't lock until he wa about to cross the 1/4 mile line at around 94 MPH. He also said when it does that he's only dropping about 200-300 RPMs. Does this sound like he has a problem, and if so can the shift point be adjusted? Thanks in advance for your vast knowledge!

I've been reading that the Cummins engines in our trucks, when idling in cold weather, get buildup in the cylinders from an incomplete fuel burn; causing all kinds of mayhem in the motor. I was curious as to what's different with these engines? I ask this since all the other diesel engines I'm around on a daily basis (pulp truck , skidder, excavator, ect) will run all day long, with lots of idling in that time span, and yet it doesn't seem to bother them any? Looking for some clarification.

Ok i have the vulcan kit to take the intank pump out. I cut the line below the t and hooked the return to the output side as the instructions said. BUT my fuel pressure is to high. I unhook the return and it is fine is there a check valve in that t that will block fuel from returning to the tank. vulcan said cut the hose on top of the t . Any none else had this problem, If i do this will the return fuel still fill the canister. Wrong forum this is a 01 3500 if some one can move it

My truck a 2002 hd 2500 5 speed, threw the following codes today P PCU 1693, then P ECU 1689.Truck has been running great for 140000+ miles, I replaced the lift pump awhile back with flowmax from bd. It ran fine after the replacement no codes, and fixed the problem of the engine surging, when I first engage the clutch, had to fuel the engine up a little, even in first, but more present in 2nd. So i was thinking the stock lift pump was weak.I just added a Bully Dog Outlook with PE to the truck. After this I noticed the surging came back (when on a power level other than stock) especially when the engine cold, have to fuel engine up a little when engaging the clutch, or sur…

I've got a buddy that bought a truck that has a FASS 150 fuel pump and he's trying to find new filters for it. Anybody know of a place in Canada where he could get them? Lots of options south of the 49th but I can't seem to find anything up here.

My truck has a 151,000 miles on it. I have been using synthetic oil for more than a decade in a number of other vehicles. I have noticed that on some of the vehicles that had more than say 50,000 miles on them, that a few of them developed oil leaks after switching to synthetic. When I switched back to petroleum based oil, all but one of them stopped leaking. My question is: Has anyone developed oil leaks once they switched to synthetic oil on a 2nd. gen. Dodge/Cummins that had say 50,000 or so more miles on it ? Thanks...Hood Latch

Guys, I just dug out my old scantool that comes loaded with domestic vehicles to 1999, just a year shy of my new to me 2000 2500 4x4 diesel. I am sure if I goto OTC they will say I need to buy the update software, but I think it ought to work don't you? Either that or does anyone out there have an update they want to sell for cheap?

I am pretty close to buying my first dodge diesel pickup, and I found a 2000 2500 club cab 6 speed camper special sport 4x4 for 9600. It is a 1 owner truck very well maintained with 166,000. The owner used it to pull a 5th wheel occasionally and here is the kicker....it has a 53 block. As of this moment there are no cracks or coolant leaks. What do you think? It is a really nice truck, but this and the typical vp44 issues give me pause before I pull the trigger. The other truck I am looking at is a 98 12v with 142000 for $9500. only problem with that is it has an auto transmission, which I feel would probably be more trouble than a manual. I like the idea of a 12v mostly…
