Evening all- My dash plastics and door panels have been faded pretty badly by the sun. It's somewhere between the Agate Grey and Light Grey interior colors anymore. I'm looking for a product similar to the "Plastic Renew" to bring back that nice dark grey color. Does anyone have a favorite product that might be better or last longer? I'm looking for longevity mostly.

All Yesterday my parking brake cable failed me. The cable itself did not break, but the metal 'clip' or whatever its called that holds the cable from the tensioner to the cable going forward did. I called my local dealership to get the intermediate cable ordered since it comes with the metal piece I need, however they said it is a discontinued part. After shopping around a few online websites for the part I have not come up with any luck either (Part # 52010321AA). The diagram below is pointing directly at the part I need on # 10. I am hesitant to buy an aftermarket cable again since this part failed me in less than a year already. Does anyone have any i…

my rear brakes are toast, in fact the one is still smoking after being parked for 20 minutes. Anyway I found a thread on here about 3rd gen brakes for the front of the 24v trucks, and I was wondering if the rear brakes on a 3rd gen will fit as well?

Hey everyone, Ive got a 99 2500 24v cummins, nv4500 tranny, edge comp box, 125 injectors, and a fass 150 fuel system. Ive got a few questions about my gauges, they are all autometer cobalts. the EGT and boost ones work fine. the fuel pressure one has not worked since I bought the truck. Ive been messing with it lately to see whats wrong, and heres what ive tried to do. When I first turn the key on, the gauge goes a little below the zero mark and dose the calibration. I unplugged the harness from the sender,(the sender is ~2 months old and has a snubber before it), when I unplugged it the gauge slowly pegged its self out. I think I read that it means its groun…

What part is this in the HVAC box. Mine is a little broken on the one side of it. I don't know if I need to replace this part, or if it o.k to run with it having a piece broke off.

Ok...I replaced both front hubs a few weeks ago. I have only driven it once since...Iv'e been waiting to get the money for the tie rod and drag link...blah blah. Well, I noticed I had diff fluid coming out of the axle tube on the pass side...leaking all over the bottom ball joint. I took everything back apart and cleaned the best I could in the tube before putting the axle back in. I put it all back together but I don't know if it will seal this time. It appears there is a seal close to the diff that seals around the inner axle. Hopefully it was just some debris keeping it from sealing properly. If not...I guess I need to change that rubber seal...anyone ever done this?

I noticed a oily little leak on my frame looking in the driver side wheel well. Examining under the hood and with a mirror I see oil moister on the Hydralic brake booster. Power steering fluid isnt down to bad, check hot, might be slightly down but not at the add line at all I thought at first it might be the master cylinder but its dry right where it mounts to the hydraulic booster. Looks like there is a little leak drain out hole on the middle bottom of the Hydraulic booster kind of like a water pump has I used a little de-greaser spray and hosed everything off clean so I can see exactly where its leaking from next time I drive Any…

  9. Hey,Got the email about cleaning inactive accounts. Don't cut me off man! I just started to look into this and figured I would post to make sure I was active. My steering box/ gear appears to be leaking and is a bit sloppy. I saw this at a autopart chain's site. AGR Performance Steering gear. "Super Box 2 Variable ratio 13-16:1 with firm valving for better handling and drivability at hwy speeds. Many performance components like AGR’s tribearing, Billet aluminum caps, etc. All in vibratory finished case."Anybody recommend this or something else? Sounds good, I like the variable ratio idea, but this aint no sports car.

  10. I have one of the 50 gallon aux fuel tank/toolbox units in the truck. Got it used off of Craigslist and really like it.Now one thing is that I still have not gotten around to hooking the electrics up on the critter. Does anyone know if there is any way to bypass all the electronics that come with it and just put power to the pump and pump the fuel into the main tank? We hooked up the fuel tank lines when installing it but frankly had spent enough time under the truck already when doing the Raptor lift pump and did not get into the wiring from the fuel level sending gauge on the main tank that the TF computer needs to work. Everything else appears to be pretty straight for…

Well i should have gotten a Road Armor Bumper and maybe it would have helped a little. A guy decided to cut in front of me and make a left as i was going straight. Light turned yellow and one guy cut in front but had time to make it but the 2nd guy didnt make it. Witness confirmed that it was a yellow light 15 different ways to my insurance. She thought that the guy making the left had right of way. I cant believe california gives away drivers licenses that easy. Plus they do not do anything to people that drive around with no insurance. Amazing state! No i have to wait for his insurance to investigate. The truck still started and went into gear and drove up the tow tr…

Is the radiator drain plug repairable? Mine opened and closed without a hitch, but closed it now to fill back up and is dripping and can't get it to stop. Thanks.

Anyone know how to remove the dome light lens on a base model dome light? I wanted to take it off to clean it. It's a little dingy and thought I would get more light that way. Probably change the bulb to an LED eventually. Or for the sake of conversation, would an over head console bolt in if I would find a decent one at a salvage yard? Just curious.

I changed my alternator this morning. Went from a Bosch to a Napa Denso. The install went well, but when I started the truck, the scan gauge II did not pick up the water temp for the intake temp for about 5 minutes. I shut the truck off, restarted, and started registering water temp and intake temp after a few seconds. The alternator is putting out 14+ VDC. Rated at 136 Amps. There were no codes thrown, and yesterday was working fine after my radiator flush/water pump repl/and t-stat replacement. Anyone have any ideas of anything I should check should this recur? Thanks.

  17. Might as well get the embarrassing part out of the way first, I tried to take a shortcut while wiring up my new radio and majorly messed up. While hooking up the steering wheel control adaptor I grounded what I assumed was just one of the two wires going to the steering wheel buttons. You know what they say about assumptions. What I actually grounded was the positive side of the CCD circuit. When I turned the key on I got the no bus message on the odometer along with the other symptoms that come with that, but the truck did start. Naturally I put all of the wiring back the way it was, but now the truck only cranks but never fires. So I can either have a running truck with…

OK, if you're brave enough to check this out, here's my issue. I drive my truck 5 miles or 50 miles, when I park and get out of truck, I smell gear lube.....alot. Hot gear lube. When I bought this truck 3 years ago, about 3 months into ownership, I smelled gear lube. It's unmistakable. Found an axel seal was leaking and saw gear lube on the tire after sitting overnight. Removed both axels and replaced outer seals. Fast forward to about a year ago. Started smelling gear lube again. Haven't found any signs of axel leakage at all. Is it possible I'm just smelling gear lube from the vent tube? The thing that has me puzzled is I don't remember smelling i…

I'm still waiting on my ss braided fuel line for my Isspro mechanical fp gauge, but decided to wire up the lights the other day. I tapped into the ash tray light as recommended by geno's garage. Now, I'm getting an intermittent condition of the dome and courtesy lights turning on while I'm driving, and today was inside the store shopping only to leave the store and come outside and hear my factory alarm honking going off. Then 5 minutes later while driving, the flasher unit started making that sound like the relay was opening and closing. My wiring is like this: Ash tray ground line is orange/black. I didn't use this, I used a ground underneath the steering whe…

First off- very good site, stumbled on it in my searches for dodge info. It seems you guys answer questions instead of bashing people's ideas:thumb1:now for my question Does anyone know where to find a decent diagram of the 42 pin connector where the engine harness plugs into the PDC. (c130 in my diagram) I bought the mitchell diy thing yesterday turns out that was a waste of good money. When i told my local dealer what i am looking for they just told me they don't have it(seems like laziness to me) and that what i am trying to do can't be done, well i don't believe in CAN'T! My truck is an 01 1500 that had a 5.9 gas and auto trans. I swapped everything out of my 97 d…
