Does anybody know what the stock wheel load rating is, for the rim? I ordered some after market wheels rated at 3,200 lbs per wheel and now I'm worried about them not being beefy enough. I'm mainly concerned about the integrity when the truck is loaded up/towing. They fit the bill when calculating GVWR per axle, but after doing some research on other after market rims they are in the 3,400-3,600 lb range. I'm just curious of what other people have run into...

I am in need of a new exhaust from the turbo back to the tail pipe. I have been looking online at exhaust kits that appear to assemble with clamps. Or I could spend a little extra money and pay a muffler shop to put on a custom exhaust with not need of a segmented system. Are the do it yourself kits worth it? I worry that they may be more prone to coming apart and creating more problems. I like the idea of having an exhaust that is welded together, however, I don't have access to one. I wouldn't mind putting it on myself especially if it saved me money, but I don't want to be doing this every other year. Thoughts/Recommendations?

I have the 2001 FSM but there are a few differences between my 1999 and what is listed in the book. I am trying to get my rotor off but I can't tell if the axle nut keeps this thing on or not. To get the rotor off, do I remove the axle nut? Looking at what I have that appears to be the answer, but I would rather not remove it if I don't have to.

Hey y'all, I have been doing research into what to do about the steering issue on my truck. I have found the Y to T 98-99 Mod and another steering kit 7/8" with high misalignment spacers. My question is will either of/ or both of be an option for a 2wd? I see all pics of 4wd trucks using both setups. After all the reading I have done I lean towards the Ballistic Fabrication kit http://www.ballisticfabrication.com/Steering-Kit-78-with-High-Misalignment-Spacers_p_1337.html I have been reading stories about MOOG not being so good these days so I am looking for the kit that will last and fit. I have also read about going to the 09-10 T set up instea…

I am embarrassed to show anyone what lurks under the hood of my truck. Have had a few suggestions, but think it would be good to get this out for everyone. Good products for soaking off grime and grease? I've heard that Simple Green works well (Jag1 says). Concerns about power washer use under the hood?

Once again I got that darn blasted ABS and BRAKE light again. I knew the driver side front sensor was repaired. What had happened was the outer jacket of the ABS split open after being flexed enough times that it broke. So the driver side was soldered and shrink wrapped and tapped up well. So I pull the driver side thinking it was damaged and unwrapped the repair and everything was fine. So I broke out a DVM and set it for ohm setting. Sure enough the driver side was right around 1,000 ohms. Hmmm... So quickly yanked the plug on the passenger side and ohm that lead. I got infinite ohms (open circuit). Now start from the sensor and right about the knuckle the jacket did th…

The drivers side mirror is getting old and my attempts to tighten it up are not working (everytime I shut the door the mirror moves around) and its about time for a replacement. Anyone else done this and what years will fit a 2002 door? Any aftermarket recommendations? This is the "Towing style mirror" I am needing. Thx, FT

My original plan was to change the front brake pads. I figured it would be a good idea to flush the brake fluid before removing the calipers, taking them apart and cleaning them and reinstalling them. I started in the back and right out of the gates I hit a road block. The bleeder valve on the rear cylinder was rusted tight and it sheared off when I tried force it. Guess what? The other side was the same way. I replaced them both and in the process I sprung a leak in the middle of a brake line. I replaced the brake line and FINALLY got moving with things. I flushed the system fairly well and found a lot of sludge inside both calipers. They did clean up nice and th…

The decal between the side glass and the quad cab glass on my truck is peeling. I'm thinking of peeling it off, sanding it and just painting it black. Anyone have a better idea? It looks like crap. You can buy the replacement decal's from Dodge but it's around 100.00 basically for two strips of black vinyl decal. I'll go ahead and take that option off the table. They've lost their minds.

After messing up the cupholder in the dash...and finding no replacement. I ordered the cup holder that fits on the front of the console from Geno's. Takes a while to get here but its a pretty nice setup for my coffee. No I don't drink and drive, but I do pick up a couple every morning for the boss and I. I don't drive the truck much in the winter but being able to use both hands to drive is better than holding 1 of those cardboard trays with 1 hand. Regards Chris...now full of caffene

I am going to change brake fluid and power steering fluid this weekend. Can anyone tell me how much of each I will need? Is there any advantage of going with synthetic? Amsoil is about $8 a pint.

I have a 2002 2500 and the last several months have had a puddle underneath the fuel tank. It appears to be coming from the top of the tank, either one of the connections on the sending unit or maybe the gasket that holds the sending unit on? Have had the top of the tank off before (pulled the bed) and at that time put the Vulcan 1/2 inch fuel line and draw-straw in the truck. Anyone ever had an issue with this sort of thing? After pulling the bed the last time, am thinking of just pulling the tank this time as the bed was not that easy but then I am working in the driveway.... Ideas or suggestions or anyone ever had this issue before? Thx, F…

So I have both the upper and lower ball joint removed, I did the lower first then the upper. Is there a specific order I need to install them? When I did them on my old hemi I seem to remember my mechanic buddy telling me to install the upper ball joint first and then the lower so the press won't get in the way of anything?

I swiped a powersaw for the whole outfit. I don't remember seeing a full hydraulic plow on a Cummins. This was on a 96 with a 318. Any chance I can put that pulley on the crankshaft of the cummins, providing I have the right bolt. Its just for my own use in my driveway. I have a skidloader but its tired and has no heat. The truck should be fine in my driveway. Other than needing a coat of paint the plow is good to go. Chris

What are the stock coil springs rated for/design load...on a 4x4? Does quad cab vs single cab matter? I was just looking at stock height coils and can only seem to find ones for single cab or shorter wheel base.

I bought a set of 2014 18" take off alloy rims w/tires off craigs list. I thought they would be a nice upgrade from my steel wheels with bald tires. I understand the lugs wouldn't fit, but thought the rims would. To make the rear fit, they need to be spaced out for the rims to clear in the rear. Anyone have any advice on the size of the spacers I need and where to buy them? Thanks again, Philo
