Sorry for the beginner question but I'm not having a lot of luck with the search feature. I'd like to install some gauges - fuel pressure, boost, & EGT. I understand best accuracy is achieved by selecting a gauge where the engine's normal operating range is in the middle of the gauge's range. But I don't know what is the engine's normal operating range for boost & EGT ('99 3500 2wd auto 4.10). The truck is stock now but I may boost things later for MPGs & towing an RV. Next mod after the gauges will be a decent aftermarket lift pump (100gph).As I recall, before the Turbo is where the probe should be installed. On my first gen that required drilling & tapp…

Hey gang, Okay a friend of mine just installed a set of used GS gauges I got in on a trade. He has the wires all hooked up and such, grounded to the battery and all. Well his fuel pressure gauge isn't working quite right. When he turns the key on, the other gauges sweep over and back down to zero. Well the FP sweeps up to 30 psi and stays there. Then when he starts the truck it drops to about 26ish psi, then once the truck starts, it goes up to about 33 psi which is the end of the gauge. My question is this: This there a way to test the sensor without just replacing it?? Fuel pressure doesn't drop with heavy throttle either and the truck doesn't appear to have any after…

Hey guys, the ABS light has been on on my '96 2wd for most of the summer. It has just RWAL. I pulled the sensor on the rear end and made sure it was clean (it was). I also made sure the connector was on good. Where else should I look?

New member, new owner, first post. Picked up a '99 3500 quad yesterday. Been reading the owner's manual and it seems the truck may be equipped with the remote keyless entry system, but I have no transmitters. Reasons I believe the truck is equipped with the system is that the doors automatically locked shortly after pulling out of the parking lot, and the interior lights stay lit for aprox 30 seconds after the door is closed. The truck also has many other options like power windows, power seat with lumbar adj, overhead console with compass/trip computer, auto dimming mirror, etc., so RKE would seem like a logical option in this truck. I'd like to get a transmitter (or two…

I came across this and I think everyone should see it just in case some people are unaware of the effects of submerging their axle. I know a lot of people just worry about the engine sucking in water but the axle can get filled with mud/water as well. Not as catastrophic as the engine seizing but definitely something to be aware of if you happen to submerge the axle. http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/94-98-powertrain/337867-what-your-diff-oil-should-not-look-like.html

I've always been a little worried about using other air filters besides the Fleetguard filters made for the factory air box.....Especially after reading some of the stories of people posting how a lot of the performance air filters were bad & would shorten the life of the engine.....I had a K&N in for just a short time & I noticed there was an increase in power, but went back to the Fleetguard after hearing that the K&N didn't provide good air filtration.....After seeing the writeup here on Mopar1973Man's website for the BHAF I was thinking about installing one of these.....I was just wondering how good the air filtration is compared to the stock filters? …

  14. I bought a used 1998 24V QCSB (185k) about 6 months ago. Occasionally, it will fail to start for exactly one hour. Then it will start right up. I suspect an aftermarket alarm. I have no fob that might have come with the alarm, but there is a switch hidden under the dash which enables/disables it. Same problem not matter which position the switch is in. Most of the time it starts just fine. But has failed to start twice in the last week. So, the frequency may be increasing. Any ideas at all? I know the alarm has lots of wires but haven't any idea where to start to troubleshoot. And it may not be the alarm at all. If it is the alarm shutting down the ignition and it has a t…

Hey,I had a quick question. My brake light by my dash gauges has been coming on and off frequently since I have owned the truck. My seatbelt light will stay on sometimes also even if both are buckled up. Just those 2 lights. The previous owner said they came on and he never could figure out why. Neither can I. I have had no problems with my brake pads, lines, or fluid. Always full and new pads and light still comes on. I am starting to think it may not have anything to do with the brakes. Maybe electrical? wiring? etc? Does anybody have any wise input on this or ever experienced this? Thank you.

Moparians,I'm wanting to get another Mopar key cut for my truck to use as an ignition key that I leave inside the truck so I can leave it running and lock the doors. I've got several just plain hardware keys for it as spares but I'm wanting a Mopar oem one. Does anyone have an idea what a dealer charges to cut another key? I found some key blanks on ebay for like $9 plus $4 shipping. Just thought I would check at a dealer before I go and buy them off there. Any ideas?:shrug:Thanks,Winslow
