  1. Spring has sprung here in Minnesota, so in a few weeks I'll be able to haul my '94 to the shed to get working on it. I posted WAY back when I first found this forum on my build plans. I'll start here again to bring everyone back up to speed. First off, is this the right part of the forum to post a "build" thread? If not please direct me to the correct location. thanks I restored a '51 Pilothouse B3D truck that was my great grandfathers truck. I seem to have a disease now, lots of old truck parts in my house, garage and at friend's sheds. I decided a few years back I was going to take a modern powertrain and graft on a Pilothouse cab/front clip as a daily …

My buddy traded me a first gen 6bt to do some body work for him on his truck. So several patch panels later I got a "free" engine.

So I bought a 2012 4x4 1500 with 104k on the clock. Auto trans with electric switch on the dash. Course I looked up the oil and it says to use ATF Here in Tx it gets real hot so I don't think its good to run ATF, what do y'all run?

  4. Minnie has been down for a few weeks with electrical issues. The funny part is the solution was straightforward. Remember start easy start at the battery terminals. Sadly I started ripping the dash apart thinking the ground issue was in the cab being the fuel gauge would drop to empty and chime there was no fuel left there was over a 1/4 tank. I've got another I've gotta check on power door locks but they just quit. Maybe a fuse? Minnie is back to running with a bit of effort.

Need to put a new thermostat in my truck , 1998 5.9 V8 Magnum, it appears someone has been in it before and appears to have probably lost one of the housing bolts and used a longer bolt as one is spaced up about 1/2" or so.. So if possible before i remove them i would like to know what size the factory thermostat housing bolts are so i can have them when i replace it. I've found a few results online for thermostat housing bolts but nothing that is a verified fit. Thanks.

Does anyone have an older 60’s though early 80’s 318/360 that has power steering and an alternator? I need pics of the brackets that hold them on. We are putting a 1972 318 from an RV into a 1959 Plymouth Fury and we tossed most of the RV stuff because it was really funky looking and now we can’t seem to get anything else to line up. We’ve gone to junkyards and tried googling images but can’t seem to find what we need.

Hey gang, I'm getting started on getting parts for @Honey Badger Jeep. I've got several issues to deal with from body rot where I have to replace floor pans on the passenger side. Then I've got to replace a front driver-side tire which has a broken belt in the tire. Then replace all the mechanical and electric fans that her previous relationship pull both out and wired in two small electric fans to solve an overheating issue. Change oil since the oil is thin and shot. I'm going to get this Jeep running well this year for backcountry adventures. When the job gets going I'm going to posting up photos soon. I've got to get the last job out of the shop and start prepping this…

So I have 3 injectors that show weak pressure and plan on replacing all of them. Any recommendations on who to buy from?

  9. I've got @Honey Badger 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee here and we started doing some serious repairs to her Jeep. What started out as cleaning the interior up and the carpet was well pretty nasty. I suggested to Mark to pull up all the seats and trim and remove the carpet so we could power wash the carpet. That option uncovered another major issue. The passenger side floor is rotten. While the Jeep in the state Honey Badger wants to make this her own kind of vehicle. So like in the picture above we are going to paint all the tan interior parts in a color-changing paint of blue/purple. We did a dry run last night of painting the driver-side kick panel. …

If you're adding significant horsepower / torque numbers to your gen 3 hemi you're likely no stranger to supporting mods. That Power is tons of fun until it breaks something. Ive been pushing the limits of my stock transmission until recently when I installed a modified valve body from paramount performance. Granted if money isnt an issue and you're frequenting the race track with high horsepower a fully built trans is always the better bet, but like many others im on a budget for the time being. I did the install myself, being careful and having the needed torque specs for everything it took about four and a half hours to get done. granted working on a 4 post lift was a …

  11. Installing aftermarket catalytic converters may trip a check catalyst below threshold code or a rich to lean code in these cars depending on the brand you bought. These motors are very sensitive. I bought a set of BBK high flows and had this issue and it took me forever to track down a simple enough remedy so I thought I might share my findings here. With the purchase of these cats I later found big daddy's garage has an o2 CEL fix. It's a cat simulator that threads between the downstream o2 sensors and your exhaust. Bought 2 at 50 bucks a pop and cleared the code without issue. Still saved me money as opposed to purchasing the higher end high flow cats as it was out of m…

This truck hardly gets driven it only has 85k on it and it started smoking slightly on start up very seldom about a year ago. Fast forward and it has increased in smoke and how often it smokes on start up and there have been times when a huge cloud of blue smoke will cover the tailgate. So it has a very slight miss to it, you wouldnt even notice if you werent feeling for it. Has no stored miss codes but the miss is there. Ive been really thinking hard on this and Ive seen worn valve guides smoke but this is more than that. I am starting down the road of valve guide seat coming loose in the head making the huge smoke cloud ever so often. Im sending in a oil sample ju…

Took my Sunday and did some work on Minnie. New headlights, LED bulb coming in a few weeks. I got aggressive and empty the Minnie out and started power washing the carpet. Boy it ran all kinds of weird brown colors. Used a shop vacuum to draw up the excess water. Also power washed all the seats, really good brighten them up a bunch. Then 5 gallon bucket of simple green and hot water and washed the inside down. My Armor All is old didn't work too good but it has some shine on the dash. Then power washed the entire body getting the black mold off the roof. Minnie cleaned up nice still has a few stains and a chemical burn in the carpet. Her she is now.

  16. I have a drain of 4+ amp's and got it down to my trailer circuit. I've traced it in to the cab I bought a new controller thinking that it was my problem because when I unplugged it draw was gone,But the draw is still there even now with the new controller. Any help would be appreciated thank's

  17. Hey I'm hoping someone can find me a wiring diagram for "Minnie". I've got a weird issue with the fuel gauge that usually depends if the carpet got wet or damp in the front. When it does get wet the fuel gauge will drop to EMPTY and chime the low fuel light. Once it dries out again the fuel gauge works as designed. The sender is working correctly and not wore out but dropping the signal to the dash to display how much. I'm figuring its a ground wire but I don't want to tear the entire vehicle apart without a wiring map. Just did about 30 minutes of Google hunting and turned up nothing.

@Honey Badger brought her truck down. The A/C and heater blower performance was poor. So i broke out the bore scope and fed it into the evaporator to see if it was plugged with debris. I started checking the blower rotation it was wired backwards. Once I put the black to the black/tan and green to the blue/yellow it has awesome blower performance. A/C is nice and cold and blows air strong out the vents. Zero cost, no parts, just fix someone's crappy wiring.

Hi all I have a switch that is working but not on high. Also the AC is not blowing cold air. Any suggestions are where to start troubleshooting would be appreciated.

Well I had a run to head up and look at @Honey Badger Mom's Jeep nothing really wrong just battery is weak security system tripping. Then locking out the ignition. Just unlock the drivers door with the key and its disarmed again as long as you dont leave the key in the vehicle. There was a family member that told her the catalytic converter was bad, nope there is a hole in the pipe near the catalytic converter. Misinformed and lead to believe big money repairs. We took a break and ran with @Honey Badger jeep out Red Ridge to pick some mushrooms. Her jeep started to heat up. Fan weren't working. Her past boyfriend hacked up the entire fan circuit to make a wir…
