The wife and I went out to look at a mustang yesterday and ended up bringing it home. It's a 2006 GT, torch red with 93k miles. I was looking for something with lower mileage, but this is a one owner car, bought new locally. It's entire service history at local dealerships has been recorded on carfax. This car is practically perfect, no dings or deep scratches even, just some light scuffing on the rear bumper that should buff out. The only modification is a tame flowmaster axle back exhaust. I have already ordered an MBRP muffler delete system. This car was somebodies baby and they took dang good care of it.

So my brother has an early Ecoboost F-150 with the maxtow package and 5.5' bed. He just traded his bumper pull camper in on a 37' fifth wheel that weighs 9100lbs dry and empty. Am I right thinking he is out of his mind wanting to pull that? He says the truck is rated to pull 11200. I'm not buying it.

Looking around under the hood and noticed a homeless wire. I found where it came from. There's a thing that looks like a condenser as in points and condenser (showing my age here) off to the side of the coil pack. It's circled in blue in the picture. What is this thing called and what does it do? Truck runs fine without it but I'd like to get a new one.

Recently picked up a 93 Ranger with a 5 speed. The clutch line was replaced before I bought it and I don't think all the air is bled out. Anybody know the proper procedure for bleeding? As usual I'm finding conflicting info. on the net and I tend to trust you guys more than the general internet public. TIA.

  6. Hi, Installing a new cylinder head. This is my first experience with Torque (and) Angle. Manual says: Step 1: Torque to 50LBS Step 2: Turn additional 90 -100 degrees I have a TA360 angle gauge for Step 2. Question: After taking each bolt to 50FtLb's per tightening sequence diagram, do I go back and recheck each bolt to insure its at 50FtLb - BEFORE - proceeding with STEP 2? Thanks. Leaky

I was just called into the shop to help the landlord fix his Ford F-150. The Column shift would not consistently release during brake application. No issues with the brake lights or the fuse. All working. It was the solenoid sticking ot failing. After fighting for 2 hours we both agreed to pull the shift lever out and looked at the tip and you can see the wear mark from the lock. Covered the dash and using a cutoff grinder. Cut about 1/4 inch off the very tip. Now install and presto normal functional shift lever without park interlock system. Then using the cutoff grinder and trimmed the cuff off the column plastic so installation is much easier. Total cost. ZERO Total ti…

Hey all. I wanted to show off my new rig. I miss the cummins motor but I am in love with everything else about the ford. The interior and body seem to hold up a lot better than the dodges. Also, any dodge with halfway decent miles and a crew cab start at $30k-$40k. I picked up this bad boy fully deleted, old man owned, and only 55k miles for $22k. Its been beautifully maintained and all the work was done by a reputable shop here in Washington. Ill post up some pictures and stats for you. Just learned that the newer Ford CP4's are grenadeing themselves and taking out the injectors as well with metal fragments. Costing $10,000 plus to fix. There is a solution to use a return line back to the tank and let the shavings then be filtered out by the fuel filter.

  10. Hi, Replaced Gear Box and Power Steering Pump an a 96 Ford Ranger XL, 2.3, 2WD, 5sp. I'm bleeding system with MityVac Pump and Rubber Stopper in Reservoir. I have bled system, started engine, bled system again, restarted engine and cycled wheels back and forth 5X. Instructions say I should be able to put 20 in vacuum on it and see no drop in vacuum after 5 mins. Mine continues to drop to 19" and remain so for hours. Repeated test at least 5 times. Left vacuum on it overnight and it might have dropped to 17" max. All PS lines are new, and tight. No visible fluid leaks. Vacuum pump tested, and plastic line between pump and rubber stopp…

I figured I would throw this problem at some fresh eyes. I have a 1967 mustang, I recently did a front disc brake conversion on it with slotted rotors and 4 piston calipers. On the first test drive, there was a knocking sound right away when applying the brakes. Upon investigation I had misread the directions and put the rotors on the wrong sides. Swapping them made the sound go away instantly, however it came back a few days later. This time I swapped the pads around and once again the sound was gone but came back a few days later. I have isolated the sound to the passenger side, at which point I swapped the pads on that side, inner vs outer. The noise went away …

Recently made a purchase. It is a 1996 E350 Club Wagon, complete with a forged rod 7.3L Power Stroke. Buddy found this van on Craigslist for $1000 advertised as non-running, non driving, had a bad title, and no pictures. But they guy responded. So we headed to look at this thing, and found that it DID run, DID drive, DID have a clean title, and of course was nasty cause he was living out of it off and on (and it was $1000). We talked the guy down to $600 and the Boost Bus was acquired. Right now the rear seats and interior panels are completely stripped out, side doors don't work, only one rear door opens, and the lock cylinders in the front doors don't work so the …

@Quadzilla Power @Quadzilla_Stephen I have a buddy with a 7.3 interested in the re-release of the Arachnid. Problem is, he's seen my V2 tuning capabilities. He is curious if there is the possibility to create a similar environment to the V2 where he can adjust his own tunes. Not knowing how the PCM communicates with the Arachnid, Hydra, TS chip, etc, is there a possibility of something similar to V2? My guess is he will be stuck with custom tunes that are emailed to him.

  18. Hi, 306K on the Clock. (Good truck. Normal maintenance cost.) "Slow"Antifreeze Leak Right Front side of Engine. Small 3/4" diameter puddle. Leak evidences itself in morning "after" driving. No overheating, heat is good in cab. Looked at if from every direction and no signs of leakage. Checked/wiggled all hoses, clamps - all are dry. Nothing around pump, radiator or side freeze plugs. Oil is NOT foamy. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. Leaky

Posting on this site because many are familiar with hose sizes and what pressures do to floe. I want to install a back up fuel pump in a small motor home. Gas...not diesel. On a small 5.4 trition. I can work out most of the plumbing but I'm stuck on figuring out how much gas I can get through a certain size line. I have a gas line much smaller in size that feeds a generator. Much smaller than gas line to engine under the hood. Would be great if I could use this small line. What is it called...figuiring out how much fluid you can a certain size line at so much pressure? If someone would give me a hint...I could google from there, but don't know what…
