@Dynamic Good morning fellow members! I have a 1979 Chevy Blazer stock rust bucket v8 305 TH350 that is our plow vehicle in Colorado. Recently it has started having a minor delay going into reverse and last night it's actin like reverse is not engaging completely...kind of skipping. I have had a couple of these apart but I'm not very knowledgeable on the exact way to diagnose this. I believe reverse and 1st share the same clutch pack(correct me if I'm wrong) it really seems like a pressure problem? Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Whilst this new truck has more than enough power to tow my work trailer and boat; the suspension leaves a lot to be desired. A lot of porposing with my work trailer going thru dips and over bumps. And I don't have the bed of the truck set up yet for my dog training/hunting stuff yet................and that will add weight (which will still be in the bed) when my work trailer gets hitched up. This truck has just 2 leaves on top of a bottom overload leaf.................not much IMHO!!! I've just got a camper shell, a sheet of 3/4 OSB, 2 dog crates, and a Line-X bed liner in there empty now, and she's darn near on the bottom over-loads. I plan on having at …

So I am getting a new project added to the rest of them. My old man is giving up a 1978 Olds Cutlass Supreme. Car is in pretty good shape apart from its been sitting for the last 20 years. I have a mild Chevy 350 small block to put in it. 1st gen block, corvette 2.02 heads, Edlebrock high-rise intake, mild cam, etc. I have a couple things I could use some help on if there is anyone with experience in the area. First off, the car still has the factory Olds small block V8 in it. Skipped a couple teeth on the timing chain and dont really want to mess with it. Is there a problem with taking the Olds out and putting the Chevy in? Will the motor mounts and accessori…

After hauling some concrete manhole risers the other day with the new chevy 1500 long bed 5.3 v8, I decided to install add a leafs and new u-bolts for added pay load capacity, she was squatting pretty bad. Since I'm adding another leaf, thicker u-bolts (9/16" to 5/8"), do I need to torque the u-bolt nuts to the factory specs of 74 ft-lbs, or a higher spec? There were no directions with the add a leafs and the u-bolts I got were universal truck bolts. http://www.summitracing.com/oh/parts/tfy-81350/overview/ http://www.summitracing.com/oh/parts/slf-11004/overview/

Laughs at me cause I don't own a 'problem free' Duramax like him. Tell me..... what injection pump an 02 Duramax has.... isn't it a VP also, built for a 8 cylinder diesel? Thanks all

We had a gent have his Duramax towed in to the shop after filling it with gasoline. Yea he filled to full with gasoline in a diesel truck. Managed to drive just about half way home and it died. So went through the process of draining the fuel tank, disposing of the mixed fuel, and putting 10 gallons of fuel back in. Now Lindy ask me to change the filter. OMG! I'm looking at this going it going to be fun. Drain the filter and spun it off. Now how in the heck do you get it out. I finally figured if you drop it into the A arm on the passenger side then you can lay on the floor and lift it up and squeeze it back through the fender skirt. So now reverse process of installing. …

Alright, father in law reports his truck has really bad fuel mileage. Supposedly went from around 18 to 12. Been like this for a while. So I ask, does it have a CEL? Yea? Take it to the auto store and get the codes. Its a 99 Chevy Silverado K2500 with the 6.0L gas engine. Codes: P0171 P0174 Fuel trim system lean bank 1, 2. Anyone have ideas? I have not had to work on a gasser in years. I was going to go out and start sprayin ether in different areas to see if I get an audible change in RPM.

Had my truck parked in the adjoining parking lot today. Walked out to it and this is what was sitting beside me. The owner came out while I was standing there and got to speak with him briefly. He is in construction and hauls some equipment with it, bobcat, back how and such. Pretty obvious not off highway much I think. He did have a goose neck ball in the bed and it looked somewhat used. The last pick is in driving trim, and adjusts differently for hauling. Any way he had to leave, just thought some might like this. Not my cup of tea, but interesting.

I have a 2007 Chevrolet 2500 HD 4x4. I drove it to the store a couple days ago, it was running fine on the way there and back, but when I got home I killed it and it wouldn't start back up. I can get it started with starting fluid but it won't idle. I cant find the fuel pump on it either. The repair manual says it's a frame mount, the Chevrolet house said it was in the tank. I dropped the tank and it was not there. Can anyone give me any ideas what's going on?

Dear Daughter got her elderly (& somewhat eccentric) Aunt's 02 Buick Century last night. The car is not at hand. The car has been losing coolant for a year or so. The coolant loss must be external as no sign of oil contamination. Aunt mumbled something about a "head gasket" but has also said "manifold". Aunt really doesn't remember well & wouldn't recognize anything under the hood anyway. (Hope I'm doing this well at 87!) Daughter noted the heater barely put out anything on low & moved cold air on high. Temp guage showed mid-range when wife drove the car. I know the first thing is to find & fix the coolant leak. I Googled it & found a TSB for…

Gots me this truck here and it needs a new drivers door. Not the most familiar with the year range of truck. What year range does this body style have so I can look for a driver door? I think its 90-94, right?
