I wanted to give a Big shout out to BBHD.  Thanks a ton for the BHAF,  the truck screams not, well not faster, but it sure sounds good in the cab!

Bbhd dropped off a bhaf for me ysterday.

That's real cool. How did your factory air box get broken?

BHAF are a good filter for the 24V trucks. Much better than the stock air box.

Dunno how it got broken truthfully.   I just noticed it was awhile back.

Most likely brittle with age and just the pure flexing of the plastic gave up.

Yea I need a BHAF on my 02, it's too quiet! 

She screams now.  Might get a little old when towing, but man does that VGT sound good........

Knowing how you guys love power modes you probably collapsed the dang thing and cracked It

Just don't use  K and N filter or your truck turns into a shop vac.

haha My coworker is one of those old guys that "swear by K&N"   doesn't matter what you say, answer is always " must of oiled it wrong"  

Tell him that you'd be will to test your BHAF besides his K&N filter in a independent lab test of the two filters. Tell him loser pays for the test. I'm pretty sure he'll be singing another tune.

I know what you mean.... I learned a long time ago to let the lady be right even when you know she is wrong.

The makers of these oiled filters don't tell consumers the problems they can produce.  The oil that comes off the filter can coat the sensors and cause erroneous readings.  These readings will diminish power and fuel economy, increase tail pipe emissions and cause poor drivability to the point the engine will not stay running.  These problems readily occur not so much in the diesel engine but in vehicles with air mass meters.    

Yea I had maf issues in a old Bmw due to k&n since then nothing but paper for me.

Just like the Dakota I just do the manifold gasket the amount of debris in the manifold was unreal. Previous owner had a K&N.

My 96 with a V10 had a K&N and the motor dropped a valve at 145k. I dont know whether that caused it or not, I had to trade it and get another truck right away.

That truck pulled my trailer really good. But you could not pull past a gas station. 4.5 mpg towing and about 12 mpg empty. I am glad gas was only  a buck a gallon back then.
