This thread is where I will post updates of my modifications, issues i've had, and potential upgrades I'm considering.

This page is dedicated to @TFaoro, because without him my truck would be bone stock still....

To start off, today my VP died.  It took me by surprise, as it gave no indication there was an issue.  But, it threw Death Code P1691, and that's that.  Good thing it died before I bought tires.

Is DAP everyone's first choice for a new VP?

  • That was all him lol. I stood by and provided encouragement.

  • I am jealous of the timing cover. Sure is purdy!!!

  • Yesterday I made a trip down to @TFaoro's shop to put a Fast cooler on my truck and do a pinion seal.  While there I was able to witness his new p pumped truck start up and go back together, while put

And if you go through a set every three years like you did with the truck, you're set for a long time!

I'm considering converting the Honda to projectors.  Stock halogens just don't cut it anymore.

I thought my bulbs went bad, but it ended up being a bad connection, hence the 3 sets of spares lol.  I am going on 4 years now with the first set of used bulbs I got lol

I just got a set of 4500K's on order.  Should be here in a few days.

Running 5k bulbs in my Morimoto D2S lights. Slightly on the bluish side not bad. Still can see the reflection off the bottom edge of road signs during the daylight hours.

I doubt anyone's eyes would be good enough to notice a diffence in down road light between 4k and 5k bulbs.   point of demisihing returns.

Did some fine-tuning of the wastegate today, and I can hit 47 psi on the mechanical gauge at WOT full wiretap (quad spikes to 58 psi lol).  35 psi on CANBus.  Good enough for me, and it feels torquier down low.  Definitely glad I went back to the smaller housing.

Though I sprung an oil leak tonight after a hard pull up a hill.  I think it's the oil return line at the 2" rubber piece on the block.  Will check out more tomorrow.

Finally stepped back into a set of 285/75/R17's! And just in time for winter to supposedly hit my area too.  Hoping these work out as well for me as they have for Tyler and his brother

Looking good :thumbup2:

Looks almost like mine minus rust holes lol. When I got my truck it had grapplers on and they did pretty good, when I got same rims you got I put on toyo open country and not to impressed, already got cracks between tread like dry rot. Got on it in the rain going about 45mph hit about 20 ish psi and started to drifting like in a race car, it was fun but I thought they would bite better than that, and it was on concrete not on asphalt. Next set will be ether grapples again  (no e rated though ) or something cheaper like Hercules.

Are you getting snow already?

Looks good! Let us know how those tires pan out. So far I'm pretty happy with my Coopers, and hard to beat a 60k tread warranty.

Thanks!  Hopefully you're still around Golden so we can go get that beer we talked about months ago...

We're 'supposed' to get snow starting tomorrow.... But it is currently 38* and raining, so I bet we're going to get ice.

I sure like having the slightly taller, more aggressive tires, but man can I tell a difference in fuel economy already.  Guess I got used to the little 265's.

Yeah I liked the Toyo's extreme tire that starts in 285/75/17 but decided to go with 285/70/17 but I don't know if it would make a huge difference between the two,  going from 265 to ether size would thought.

Whatever y'all do...DO NOT buy duratracs.

Use em as burnout tires!

Don't forget to take a video :)

Whats wrong with your duratracs?  Other than being loud and heavy they were really nice on my wifes chebby.

Ride like trash. Spin in the rain with a 180hp 12v driving them....work great in the snow though.
