This thread is where I will post updates of my modifications, issues i've had, and potential upgrades I'm considering.

This page is dedicated to @TFaoro, because without him my truck would be bone stock still....

To start off, today my VP died.  It took me by surprise, as it gave no indication there was an issue.  But, it threw Death Code P1691, and that's that.  Good thing it died before I bought tires.

Is DAP everyone's first choice for a new VP?

  • That was all him lol. I stood by and provided encouragement.

  • I am jealous of the timing cover. Sure is purdy!!!

  • Yesterday I made a trip down to @TFaoro's shop to put a Fast cooler on my truck and do a pinion seal.  While there I was able to witness his new p pumped truck start up and go back together, while put

I have a couple road trips ahead of me to mess with timing and fuel curves. Biggest issue I’m facing is wind on the flatlands and temperatures.

Are you sure you don’t want to redo your differential? It’s great fun.

80 PSI that's a lot of boost pressure. Wow!

You can air up your tires now, just need a storage tank with check valve

WOT to run the horn. Hmmmm.

The whole point of compounds is to be sure the air goes in the engine!

Put it on a toggle switch. Toggle to charge the tank then toggle it off to run normally. Still can have air. Crazy idea I know. :cookoo:

Man, I have a friend who follows the Sloppy Mechanics Facebook page and tells me one-off ideas. Like an anti-lag device between shifts using air. Didn’t expect to find that stuff here!

And I'm worried that I’m just sloppy enough to try some of these.

Propane will burn... Nice shot of propane will keep the lag down.

Throw a little water/meth injection with the propane to cool it down.

Yeah but then my IAT will be below 80*! Come on Mike!

I have a 2000* egt gauge. I’ve had it up to 1800* before. Held that for almost 45 seconds. Probably won’t do that again.

Scary, I held mine at 1300-1400 for about same time and was freaking out the whole time :lmao:

Longest I’ve gone is 1500* for 4 minutes. Blew an intercooler boot going up a mountain and couldn’t pull over. 45 miles an hour in 4th gear to keep speed up ?

and its still fine so egt’s are just a number right?

Though I don’t really watch my EGT gauge at all anymore. Just glance at it occasionally.

I bet you'll have problems getting that pyrometer to climb to 1800 again.
