August 2017 Eclipse camping

Everyone is welcome to meet starting August 18th on a Friday near Weiser at Catfish Junction RV Park.(location close to center of full eclipse path on Monday 21st of August). Rv Park phone is (541) 262-3833 for reservations for tents and rv hook ups. There is also an area next to the park for free dry camping if you like.

 

Please try and make it even if you cannot show up till Sunday night. All are welcome . IBM is bringing several pairs of eclipse glasses, 'shades'. I'm bringing shade canopy, food snacks, and a full cooler.

 

Let everyone know if you are planning on meeting up.

    My wife said I could go if after the eclipse I took her to Glacier National Park, Banff and Jasper Canada with a side trip to Yellowstone on the way home.

Well it appears that plans may be changing yet again.  Wife's work came around and said that it might actually work.  At any rate, don't count on me being there until I am there haha.

    btw, Tent sites are available or double up with IBM or MoparMan if their sites are long enough. She said she will try getting me a tent site near by at any rate.

    Good luck...I don't even have a site yet I might just drive back and forth. Unknown what I'm doing as of yet.

    So much for a big leadership turn out....

     

    It's supposed to be the busiest weekend in the hotels/campgrounds/roads of the year, or more. There are news articles on it every week or so right now.

      I just got of the phone with Judy, a real nice lady, at Catfish RV and confirmed that I have a reservation for site #7.  She said that her RV park is full now with 100 RVs and no tent sites available. I'm glade I made that reservation a year ago.

      There are a couple of places up the road from there that you can dry camp at but I'd get there early because they expect a lot of people to show up for the weekend.

    It is the same over hear in NC. Turns out the eclipse is passing a little south of where I live. I am sure getting something around here is just as difficult.

    I misunderstood then about the tent sites. However, she did say she would try to get me close to IBM or Mopar Man:)

    And she did say too  that since I'm so small that she could also get me a parking spot near her building if need be.:thumb1:

     

    Michael if you drive back/ forth, Daniels and My Frig will be full of food and drinks anyway.
