Hi im new to the forum and to dodges we dont really have many in the UK..

 

Im currently looking at buying injectors for my truck been reading alot about what size is best for this spec etc.  My truck is pretty stock at the minute. But can anyone tell me what size would be good for a chipped truck with a BHAF... i dont do any towing truck is purely for fun and taking my bike to the track...

What do you have for a transmission? 47re? Stick shift? What chip?

An old superchips programmer bought around 2003... auto 47re which is stock for the time being.. slowly stock piling parts to build it ?

I would not go over .085-75hp vco or rv275 would be a good choice, which means 275hp total where 50,60,75hp injectors are over stock. So if your motor is 235hp add that on top. Stay with vco style. Honestly until you built your tranny or drive like a grandma I would not do anything over rv275, Plus they are brand new Bosch. Not sure if  DAP ships overseas but they have good selection and they use Bosch bodies for most of their injectors 

Yeah i was looking at both injectors ive only had the truck a few months now but its getting to the stage i can upgrade a few things. So the 75hp injectors would be ok with what im running now until i eventually upgrade programmer and turbo?? Ive spoken to dap and they dont mind shipping over seas ????

75hp and drive it easy. If not you will be building that tranny sooner rather than later. Stock auto tranny does not like much extra power at all.

Thanks man ? what sort of tranny mods would you suggest for my truck with the injectors?? Currently got a shift kit waiting to go in and im about to place an order for a rebuild kit.. Thanks 

    I would have to leave that up to the more educated on autos. @Dynamic is a vendor and resident expert on the autos and there are some others more suited to advise you. @Dieselfuture's advice above is good. I just know the stock tranny does not like the added power without some help.

Yeah i went to school in my truck as kid only took 15 years to finally own it ? 

As far as transmission upgrades go a modified valve body and triple disc converter are bare minimums IMO. I’m no expert by any means but from all the reasearch I’ve done and talkin with people who know what they’re talking about (@Dynamic and Goerend) that’s pretty much the minimum requirements for stock to a little above stock power levels. 

Yeah ive got a shift kit waiting to go in and if im taking the box out to do the TC i may as well give it a freshen up inside i will speak to some of the dealers on here.. thanks

My opinion is that you should first define your power goals and your driving goals and then start to save and build.

 

I have re-done a lot of steps, thrown away a lot of expensive parts and had a lot of inconvenient breakdowns from not follwing this advice.

I also did a box first, burnt tranny, built tranny to box, got injectors, got air to use injectors, re-built tranny for box+injectors+air, did modify injectors, did change from box to programmer, re-built tranny to cope, changed program, got more air- added fuel- wrecked tranny etc.. 

 

And the advice to add power and drive it like a granny- rubbish!

Change the leverage on the go pedal and be done- why add power for money and then refrain from using it because it will cost more money- the same result can be had by pressing the accelerator pedal to the firewall. Right now your transmission limits you, and you spend money for not having to move your right foot an inch more.

My advice- plan first, implement later..... I wish I could recuperate 1% of the costs of not following this path- could buy some nice toys..

Forgot to mention something

All you got to do is keep in mind the weakest link in the system. Constantly upgrade your weak points. 

That's my problem i dont know what to aim for i want a reliable pretty quick truck not something that spends more time on a ramp due to issues. My plan was to gather gearbox parts as and when i can get around import duty as its criminal the amount we have to pay. So when the box burns up i have pretty much what i need to rebuild it. I think i would be happy with 300-350hp.. its just a fun truck that i throw my mx bike on.. so my list was:

quadzilla programmer

Injectors

Billit triple disc TC

Gearbox rebuild with quality after market parts.

Shift kit 

 

Anything else you guys reccomend??

A nice 65hp programmer like the quad xzt or edge ez is what really makes the truck much more driveable with the added timing=increased throttle response. Those coupled with rv275 injectors is all you "need" and is time tested and proven, that should put you around 300hp. Then again 100hp injectors with a 120hp box is nice too, but those definitely require a triple disc torque converter and a billet input shaft and other transmission goodies. What year is your truck? If it's a 2000-2002 with the Holset HY35 turbo, you'll need to upgrade if running larger injectors and a wire tap box. I ran both setups, both were great, but back to smaller numbers for ease on the drivetrain. Need vs want and budget. 

 

Either way an upgraded torque converter and valve body is needed for fueling modifications.

@CTcummins24V my truck is a 99.. thats why im torn between rv275 and 75hp injectors.. i like the quad because of the adjustability and can make it suit most set ups.. i think im going to sort injectors then programmer and when the trans lets go i will build that.
