Drove it home last night. Wouldn't start this morning. Has a P0126 code. Has fuel pressure out of the fuel filter. I am assuming a dead VP44. Who sells a good quality pump?

  • If anybody cares, the new VP44 is in the truck and it runs. FASS going in tomorrow.

  • I care..  i don't know if it's been talked about or not but what i found be really handy is shut off valves before and after fass pump.  Changing filters,  priming Etc   I'm did the fass pum

I still have the blue stuff yhat came with the AD. It is cracking a little on the outside but not leaking. I still have the AD quick disconnects that are still going strong.

Still need to relocate the sensor off the pump. Need at least 5 feet of 1/8" air brake tubing. Pulsations of the pump will eventually kill the sensor. Pump is upstream of the filter on both AirDog and FASS.

Inlet -> Water Seperator -> Pump -> Fuel Filter -> Outlet.

So, should the sensor be plumbed into the main fuel line upstream of the pump, or plumbed off the pressure port and at the end of the 5 feet of air brake tubing?

Mopar1973man on too many meds...... from surgery..... It goes like this.......

Fuel tank---- water seperating filter-----lift pump-----factory filter-------fuel pressure 'T' and needle valve'------ then Vp44.

branched off at the 'T' and needle valve-------5 feet of line-------then the electronic sensor.

I'm dense some times but I believe I understand how this plumbed now. Looks like I can get the fittings from Vulcan if I can't find them locally. What is a source for the needle valve?

I put a adapter right at the front of the IP no problem since install

Currently ACE hardware has them, I just bought one a few weeks ago. I can get you a P/N for it. NAPA doesn't carry them anymore, god knows why.

They sell them for the valve that goes behind the frig for the ice maker water supply and shut off.

More progress. Yesterday we installed the relocation kit from Vulcan. Included t-fitting, needle valve, snubber, then rubber(?) line to the sensor. I opened the needle valve about a half a turn. Gauge is showing 15 psi and is steady idle to full boost. Still have to build a bracket to hold the sensor to the inner fender.

Another question: I have bypassed the factory filter and lift pump. I assume I can remove them from the truck?

Yes you can but the bracket for the lift pump has to stay. It covers a hoe in the block for the mechanical pump that ran the 12v trucks.

I dont see what lift pump you used to replace factory one. Since you bypassed the oe filter did you put something else in for filtration?

Yes, I went to a FASS Titanium 95 system.

I believe it is recommended that you just barely  crack that needle valve open.

You want it so it comes up from zero to full reading at a slow pace. Doesn't have to be too slow just reasonably slow.

I cut mine off, could have bought a block off plate but I'm too cheap

Dodge left the bracket on when they installed my in tank pump. For $900 you would think it would have been included.
