  • How many parts is a good question. I get asked that a lot. I can guess at a few. 1. New tires every 100k. 2. Too many u joints to count. 3. Three gallons of oil every 20k miles for the first 500k mike

CajFlynn, have you had this truck since "brand new"???? How many sets of brakes pad, calipers, tires, U-joints, oil filters, gallons of oil etc. have you gone thru. It'd be interesting to see!!!

As far as I know he got the truck with 300K or so... I've known Caj now since like 580K miles... Miles fly by quick for him...

Three gallons of oil every 20k miles for the first 500k mikes and three gallons for every 8k miles since then. 4. 2 head gaskets. 5. 4 transmissions. 6. 2 rear ends. And a partridge in a pear tree.

2 head gasketts ? Maintenance or blown ??

And why the oil change interval change? 20k I assume you had a bypass, did you remove it with the 450k issues and go to the shorter interval?

I had to do the second head gasket because I reused the bolts the first time. You live and you learn. I changed my oil every 20k because i thought that was what I needed to do. I drive a lot of highway miles and it seemed reasonable. I switched to 8k because I got scared. That being said when the head was off it looked pretty good. I have never had any oil related problems other than leaks. 997,662 so far.

"I think I can I think I can I think I can ...... woowoo" Remember michael jordan " I wanna I wanna be like Caj .... yeah"

I would be happy if my truck last about 1/4 of that. Prefer half that. Working on my maint now so i can reach that number again some day.
