Posted July 10, 201212 yr When you are pulling a heavy load on a straight road, what are you normally running for exhaust temps. :shrug:When pulling my 5th, I am seeing 1000-1100 anytime the truck is working uphill and about 800-900 when on a steady grade. Is this normal??
July 10, 201212 yr To many factors to get a "normal" reading. Turbo, fuel, and everything else inbetween. Those numbers sound fine to me though.

I see 800 at 70 on level road on a cool day. Maybe you should think about a water/meth kit? I didnt see injectors in your sig are they factory?
July 10, 201212 yr Pulling my 15,000 lbs RV 5er, I see 750-800 flat Texas roads at 65-70 mph1000 up hill in 5th, 2,100 rpm1,100 - 1,200* up hill in 6th *(down shift time), or accelerating uphill in 5th Avg. I'd say 800-900* at 10-15 lbs boost
July 10, 201212 yr As long as your egt guage is pre turbo sounds fine up to 1250/1300 in short bursts is ok ...
July 11, 201212 yr Pulling my 30ft 5er, i see 800 flat, and 1000 on grades up toward colfax so about 4000ft ele. steady steep grade, but i never tow at 70 because trailer tires are not rated for those speeds, my max is 65mph.
July 12, 201212 yr About the same for me. 800ish on the flat and 1100is up a 12% grade with the 5er and the A/C going. My GVWR is 15750, just shy of my max. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
July 14, 201212 yr I'm in a 3rd gen so my numbers are a little different, but those numbers sound normal. What's your peak EGT/Boost?

With my mods I see slightly lower temperatures. 700-900*F on flat ground and pulling 7% grade I'm about the same with 1000-1200*F. Once I hit 1,200* I will gear down and hold my RPM's at 2K in the next lower gear and re-check the EGT's
