Well I've made it home for the summer and it's time to start tearing this thing apart. I will begin tomorrow, but yesterday I took it to the dyno. Laid down 503 / 1215. I was very pleased with the numbers, but the knocking is getting worse to it's time to take it apart.

Get it balanced?

8K.. wow!! I just hit 20K on my rebuild yesterday and I have had it back for almost 2 years (2 years on 12/10).

NO :( driveline shop was closed on black Friday. I'll have to figure out a time when I'm off school to do it.

Yeah I've been driving a LOT. It'll come to a halt after Christmas though.

Geez.. You don't drive much. Typically in a year I cover 30-35k miles on average.

The truck only gets part of my miles. I drive about 20-25K miles a year but only use the truck for truck stuff.

Build it myself!

Pretty close @Dieselfuture! I personally like the sides that go straight down though. I don't run wide tires so no need for the protection.

Cool, I see your point, it does look a bit goofy from front in my picture. I did it more for if I hit something it will push it away from the truck. Also I put my hook points and reciver hitch below so I don't hit my shins on them.

I'd be a little scared of your pull angle if you pulled on it hard enough. You'd hate to rotate the bumper into he grill. I've got a shin bumper on the back so why not throw a couple on the front

I made them kind of in line with the frame, the eye hole is about center with frame rail, but not sure if it will make it rotate more or less. I guess it would depend on how I'll use them. I was thinking using them straight forward if I winch I can loop cable back to truck. But if I pull a cat down from a tree then it might fold up a bit, but I know it won't be the bumper bending, my mounting plates are 1/2''. and rest of the bumper is 1/4''

So what was the cause of the knocking? Don't feel like digging through 30 pages to find out lol.

7x0.013 sac are on the way. Let's see how much fuel this thing can handle

Knock was an excuse to rebuild :)

Oops... Honestly I have no idea. Still does it a bit now and then. Probably something with the dang VP

Some of the knock is the timing. Also more fuel will create a larger bang so to counter the rod and crank bearings getting beat to hell on higher fueling you can option harder bearings for both the rods and crank. They are grey in color instead of silver. My truck has a knock but it doesn't seem it's from the engine rather something around the bell housing. In my case that could be the bolts or flex plate creating the knock. Next time I pull the trans I will replace the bolts with ARP hardware and a Goerand SFI spec flex plate.

Also when starting cold it won't knock so I'm thinking mine could be static timing may not be where it should be and as the fuel timing changes with temperature rise it begins knocking.

I'm done searching. If something blows up I guess I'll find it!

One last video before the big injectors go in

Threads like this make me want more than the 400-450hp goal I currently have lol.
