I know this is sudden but...
Well let's see... This is not my first winter. Then 5 years of driving to Boise / Ontario in the winter. I've seen ugly where you can no longer see the definition of the road because it drifted flat and no reflectors poles now that is ugly. Heck I'm the Mopar1973Man I designed Beast to run in this kind of foul weather. Oh. Tidbit Beast is almost back from the moon. 475,4xx just need another 600 miles and I'll be back. Now load Beast up again head back to the moon. Being ill be on the highway for my medical treatment.

Did you have the new alternator tested? I've seen new in the box that has failed the bench test more than once. Another way to test unplug the field lead on the alternator. It should stop the lock unlock issue. This will show that alternator is bad. As for the power issue. What size tires are you running and what axle ratio does your truck have? Like myself I'm running 245/75 R16 tires on 3.55 gears which makes my final ratio 3.69. This makes my 66 MPH at 2,000 RPMs at 80 MPH 2,450 RPM. I can tow my 31 foot RV over a 7% grade on cruise control and never go high on EGTs nor lose speed.

I know this is sudden but...
It really made a difference to get hooked up with a friend last night get out of the house and just forget about all my issues and just live a little. I went out to dinner and had Chinese food last night. Then we thought about hanging out at a bar in McCall but it was not all that it was cracked up to be. We left McCall and headed back to my place being at least warm and comfortable. Everyone around here is out of sorts being we all seemed to stay up fairly late last night. Seriously I did enjoy just letting go for a short time and enjoying life again. You have to remember you become kind of self-conscious being you can feel the bags tied to your legs but no one can see them. This will become my new normal and it is taking some time to get used to the feeling of the two bags and the tubing coming out of my back. I know I've hinted at something in my last post too. I've got another secret that I've been playing with as well. It started out as something fun to do as an alter ego. My past girlfriend helped me get started a bit but when she broke up I ended up continuing on my own. I know that @IBMobile posted about the blue and black hair wig I've got. This has grown too. I've got black and blue, black and purple, and a few other colors I've collected then I started adding makeup to make it more Goth or Emo Goth appearance. Last night I was dressed up in my black and blue hair and makeup, spike collar, and wristbands and wandered the city of McCall which is a town of rich and well-to-do. I had a blast where many people commented about my hair and makeup. Sadly I didn't get a photo of my artwork... So this a previous using my black and purple. Be aware most will be shocked to see the altered me. I partied like it was the last day of the year...

Happy New Year to all!
I actually went out with a friend last night and had dinner and then we both came back here and crashed for the night. I at least got out and had just a touch of fun last night. It was cold and super foggy so we were trying to hang out in McCall but with not really anywhere to go but the bars we just came back to my place and enjoyed the rest of the evening here. Jake popped out of his room last night and wished me a Happy New Year as I was up dealing with my bags at midnight. Then got up this morning and hauled my friend back up to McCall this morning. Way better than just sitting here and staring at the walls all night. Like last night coming back here was interesting when you cruising down the highway and saw people shooting off fireworks in New Meadows bright reds, blues, and whites out in the fog of the fields.

Technically the ECM and PCM do not store any drive information. The only thing it can store is the error codes and disconnecting the battery does not erase codes or any software being the software is flashed to the EPROM. The codes are stored in NVRAM like a thumb drive. Like I said most of the hunting is caused by the AC noise levels. Still, say to test the alternator and the charging system. Even weak batteries with a bad alternator can produce some serious AC noise exceeding 0.1 volts which is damaging to the ECM, PCM, and the VP44.

Tuning Assistance
Did you test for AC noise? Did you bench test the alternator? Have you done the W-T ground wire mod? All this fixes the lock and unlock. Now as for dropping into 4th quickly. You might gain some if you readjust your Throttle Valve cable which you might be able to delay it slightly. I had the same problem with my 1996 Dodge 1500 5.9L V8 5.9L. That 46RE (including 47RE and 48RE) was known to fall into 4th early. 1st through 3rd is all hydraulic controlled in the valve body but 4th is electronic controlled by the PCM. Hence the name 47RE which is 4 gears, TQ rating of a 7, and it rear wheel drive, Electronic shift. RH would of been Rear Wheel drive and Hydraulic Shift.

Merry Christmas everyone!
Today there is still no snow. I'm on dry ground and just barely started lightly raining. With my lack of energy in the evening hours I've not paid much attention to the night skies.

HELP Power Loss When....?.....
So you need to verify the solenoids are hooked up properly and that the wiring is in good order. There should be a black and tan per solenoid which is the ground wire. You might measure the ohms of the solenoid and the test your wiring between the solenoid and the ECM. Basically the ECM is trying to see a particulatr voltage drop and know the ECM has control over the solenoids but if there is improper solenoids used with improper ohm values its possible to trip the codes again. Wiring issues have to be verified too. Most likely because you have no tuner that handles the boost values for you. So if you capable of 20 PSI or greater the P0234 code will be thrown. If the turbo has a wastegate find out if you can reduce you max presssure to 18-19 PSI max then the P0234 code will not trip. Also if you trip the code the ECM will defuel pretty hard and power will remain low till the code is reset every time. If you still have the stock turbo I would reinstall it till you have the funds for a Quadzilla tuner.

HELP Power Loss When....?.....
P0234 Boost pressure is too high. Wastegate issue on the turbo. Possibly you running bigger injectors without a tuner to manage boost pressure. P0216 VP44 can't set timing as commanded. VP44 needs replaced. P0380 and P0382 are grid heater solenoids are no longer receiving signal from the ECM. Might need to replace the solenoids. P1693 is just a flag code. Typically only seen on the odometer to alert you that the other module has codes. ECM <---> PCM.

Air leak Hard start in the morning.
Good at least the final ratio is good. It won't hurt to do all the o-rings on injectors and crossover tubes just to make sure you didn't nick a o-ring.

Air leak Hard start in the morning.
Double check also the return rail of the head make sure the banjo bolt and sealing washers are good then also check your return on the p-pump I've seen the overflow valve create issues with prime when it's wore out. Your biggest issue is your final ratio is too low you should not be running 35 inch tires on 3.55 gears this is why your head cracked. Your best off switching to 4.10 gears.

I know this is sudden but...
Good morning gang... I'm still getting up and doing my thing. Sadly with what I deal with on m,y bladder bags sleep is tough to get if you are waking up every 2 to 3 hours to drain these bags. Other than that I am doing good and handling what is coming at me for now. I will admit with the timeline between past cancer runs to this time it is horrid that both land on Christmas and New Year's. I will admit I've had to battle my demons with my mind about this. I get lonely and have too much time to think about things and my mind can get my anxiety fired up thinking about what's happening then I'm looking for anyone to have a conversation with to get past my mind filling with all the negative things. Then realized that my Christmas / New Year was ruined again by my cancer. Then I can go down worrying about how I'm going to pay my bills. I have to say Thank You to the members here on the website for being there for me... @IBMobile @IBMOBILE-JEN these two have had some conversations with me trying to keep me going. Then @Doubletrouble I know I shocked him by telling him about my cancer but he's been there to just listen to my tales and just being that ear that just listens. Then there is the entire "Blynn Family" which Tianne Blynn is my bookkeeper for Mopar1973Man.Com her family is been there covering my back and making sure things are being handled. Then there is @MUDDY he's back too but not at the capacity as before but I can just call him up and discuss what going on as well. Great way to just mellow out. @JAG1 he's made contact too trying to lighten my load mentally as well. I know there is several other members as well but these off the top have made multiple calls just to keep up with me. I want to say Thank You to all the members and all get well wishes... It does keep me going. Thank you all and much love in return to you all who stand behind me in times of need!

Merry Christmas everyone!
Good morning all. Day after Christmas... Even with all that is going on with me, I managed to get a friend to hang out with me for Christmas. sadly I ended up being stoned and passing out quickly on him. Best past I was able to get some much-needed sleep. I'm thankful that I didn't spend Christmas alone. As for snow it is dumping snow pretty good this morning here and becoming more like wintertime now. Hopefully, everyone had a wonderful Christmas and got some awesome gifts.

Help
Again why I said if there is 100k miles just replace them. The solenoid coils can be tested on a test stand. If the injectors have less than 100k just pull all six injectors out and have them tested. This eliminates all the guessing. Then test your gasket wiring and go from there.

Help
First question how many mIles on the injectors? If the mileage is over 100k miles time to replace all 6 injectors. Now as the the valve cover electrical I would ohm from pin to injector contact to be sure no opens or shorts. Error codes are showing electrical issues. It even could be bad injector solenoids causing the errors again if over 100k miles I would start with injector replacement first. Now I'd these injectors are less miles I would pull them all out and have them tested I've seen a injector fail from damaged internal parts.

- W-T ground wire mod - Simplified
That's cheap way to do it but still way better to remove all that and ground it directly at the Vp44 and not even have the ground heading to the passenger but to the driver side battery. Then the charge wire goes to the passenger battery with a 150A breaker or fuse.- 35 comments

- I know this is sudden but...
Yesterday was a much better day. I managed to get sleep as well as last night. As for my abilities and function, it is a change in figuring out typical daily activities. Being I've got the two ports in my back I need to keep those dresses dry and clean. What do I do with my bags? Yeah, just a simple task of hopping in the shower has more steps. Then my clients are coming and paying up and picking up vehicles. It is still a mental thing for someone to take over my job and have the trust the job would be done right. Which is timely and needed. So yesterday just headed to McCall for banking and groceries. I welcome the time to leave the house and be out. I've been cooped up for quite a while considering my stay in Boise ugh. Give me a little bit to heal up and I'm going to be busy here. I will admit the ports in my back are sore most of the time from laying on them. Thank Gwad for cannabis which great pain relief without constipation problems. Strange enough even after the scrapping of my bladder there is ZERO pain which is weird to me. My ports are always floating 3-4 just enough to annoy me. As I type I'm sitting Indian style on my bed. There are several of you who reached out to me and checked my mental status. Go for it I'll just have to tell you all I'm just crazy and looking forward to the changes that are coming. Really? Yup, I'm more or less retiring for wrenching. 40 years of turning wrenches I could easily give it up. Will I miss it a little bit but I look forward to developing my coding skills in AlmaLinux and Interworxs. So how did I deal with the stress and anxiety of all this well... there is another side of me some know about and others it's a secret. I started playing with what some call cosplay. Well, I've created a character named Titanium. Titanium is based on the song Titanium. Speaks about being shot down but I never fall. So when stressful things were happening I could whip out my photo and show photos of me dressed up as Tiranium. This created a following just in the hospital. I've been requested to be in full makeup and dressed up. The hospital staff is shocked at how positive and how I'm dealing with the stress of all this but I'm still moving forward and looking forward to my new life that should have 100% survival rate and 0% of cancer return. If I see replies I'll post the photos. Then you all might find out how crazy I am.- Tuning Assistance
Level 2 caps any fuel table to 100% stock fuel. Then allows the custom timing. Now this points out that the custom tune fuel table it restricted. Now the timing table is going to be the most important thing about the tune. Being able to get a flat engine load at 65 MPH then we set cruise range. So as long as your engine load is low and boost is low you can have 24° to 26° BTDC at 2,000 RPM and do it safely. Another trick is if you have the transmission temp sender plugged into the oil test port on the oil filter housing you can verify you amount of timing by your oil temperature. Proper timing your engine oil temparure should hover about 165 vs 195 coolant. Now if engine oil temperature is great or equal to coolant temperature your timing is too advanced. Any changes that add more to temperatures or increase engine load your going the wrong way. When the tune is done right EGTs should be so low that in the winter I can drive 15 miles and barely get the truck to full temperature.- Tuning Assistance
No such thing really. Mileage is all based on how the tune is built and how the truck is driven from there. I can be on any level I wish which with drive the same in every manner but the only thing levels do is just cut the maximum fuel to different limits. Level 2 - Stock Fuel only Level 3 - CANBus fuel only which is about 60 HP jump. Level 4 and up - CanBus + Plus Wire Tap (Level limits the wire tap) In my case, the only time I use level 2 is during the winter to prevent spike of power causing wheel spin. Even with level 3 and up I can still do very well just you have to think more power quicker to destroy the MPG number. All you have to do is go over to the forum for submission for a tune and answer some basic questions. Then I build a tune based on the information given. This base tune will need work and effort. But once the first tune is built and uploaded then you will make your payment for said tune and the forum will keep our notes in order. I will create as many new versions updated based on what is not quite right. All previous versions will saved in your download section so for example 1.0.0 base tune, then we make 1.0.1 and good. Now you request something different I made 1.0.2 and it is a flop that runs poorly with performance problems. We can back up to 1.0.1 and then spur off a new version of 1.0.3 which then we never have to rebuild from the ground up. https://mopar1973man.com/forum/216-custom-quadzilla-tune-request/- I know this is sudden but...
Give me a chance to get that far in my medical then I'll be learning about those right now I can't remember all the medical terms on what that's called. I know I'll figure ways out to protect my bag. Still in all doing things like transmission rebuilds or clutch installs is not going to happen again for me. Yeah doing like my own oil change, sure I know I'll be back to servicing some things in my truck on my own. I still have to remember I've got to keep a sterile field around my port when I get it. Not like in the past when I let diesel fuel run down my arm into my shirt like I've done so many times in the past. But hey... My mind is full of information and different things. I can still support all of you guys out there in the world. Nothing is stopping me now from being here on the website and helping where I can with everyone. Seriously it does help to keep my mind busy with thinking about solutions for problems on these trucks. Even just being on the phone with some of you the phone call helps me settle down and get my mind right. Like I just remembered I was starting this post and got busy so... I'm returning to finish and then realize I need to check on Mark with my injector job in the shop and he already got my front tire tied into the back of Thor to be repaired. It's been really strange to just give orders to people and get stuff done. I'm not the type to do that... But my mini-family here is Jake, Mark and myself. - W-T ground wire mod - Simplified
