Front Axle CAD Vacuum Actuator to Manual Posi Lock
I really like the concept. My low stall T/C doesn't allow for rev up of the engine at all...so the low range would help a lot!! I hear that backing up a heavy load is hard on the automatic transmission. So the low range without 4x4 would be cool. Good for 16% roads too while pulling a trailer.

Moving away from wife
For me, I was thinking that a toy hauler would have storage for stuff and avoid storage unit rent...not for ATV's. Plus more likely to have a generator. One I saw had 3 axles and 16' of hauler room.

Moving away from wife
I keep having people tell me I need a 5th wheel. What's the advantage if you're not moving it much or at all? I don't want to remove my canopy to haul the trailer.

Thanks for the input. Hard to imagine a full timer being too big.

Moving away from wife
We have a rental, which she wants me to move into...but what would I do with a 2,000+ sf house? It would cost me thousands to furnish it...starting from zero. So my current thought is to buy a travel trailer bumper pull in the 35' range. They come basically furnished...even with a flat screen tv. Just buy some bedding, pots and pans, dishes and that's about it. Does anyone have suggestions on brand/model? New to a few years old. I'd like to keep the cost down, but financed the payments on a $35,000 unit are pretty affordable. I want a bedroom and no other bunks. Multiple slides would make it feel more spacious. I'd live in it for an undetermined amount of time. Eventually becoming an RV again....maybe. Who knows, maybe I'll just buy a piece of land eventually and park it there. But for now just staying on friends property.

Exhaust Brakes and head gaskets
What exactly does the exhaust brake do? I realize the outcome. Lol.

Exhaust Brakes and head gaskets
Simple question...are exhaust brakes hard on head gaskets or other downsides to them?

Truck Running Fine!
I feel like I should be knocking on wood. I've had no problems with my truck for ages. Feel like the preventive maintenance is paying off! Thanks to you guys and this site for helping me to see potential troubles and what to do about them! Side note...had to remove my studded tires this past week and got some new Toyo's. I am liking the 3rd gen 17" wheels. Cheap bling. Got used ones from a classified ad. Two sets so I have a set for studs and a set for regular tires.

Adjusting parking brake
That's exactly what I needed!!! Thanks.

Adjusting parking brake
I have 4 wheel disc. Parking brake pedal is getting close to the floor. Which way do I turn the adjusters to tighten the parking brake shoes?

Fuel sumps are illgeal
Less worried about diesel than I'd be about gas. I'm sure that the complete tank emptying of fuel is better than with a suction system. I ran mine dry at 30 gallons going up a hill. 5 gallons left in tank.

Thoughts / Prayers to those that live below Oroville Dam
Wonder if insurance will cover those folks without flood insurance?

Mike will be needed for major mods!
Well, not me. I'm beyond bling in my life. I like the Chrysler 300's too, but the Magnum's are similar drive train and interior and less expensive. You can get a really nice Magnum AWD and Hemi for around $6,000....cash.

Mike will be needed for major mods!
Nope, slow boat from china. Maybe next year.

Guest house flooded again...
But on a bright note, I bet your water generator is working well. Sorry for the troubles!

Mike will be needed for major mods!
Soon as I can get the cash together, I'd like to get my truck to Mike and keep him busy for a few weeks.... Automatic to manual swap, exhaust brake and new exhaust system, rebuild front suspension. I'll think of more. Oh yeah, track down some oil leaks on the motor. Maybe replace the fuel tee behind the head (can't reach it myself), replace left front axel seal, flush cooling system and replace radiator. Might as well do the rear main seal on engine while transmission is out. $1,500 ought to cover it. ?

Sport headlights installed
I used the Eagle Eyes standard replacements too. Very happy and brighter than original. I'm still going to do the driving light and fog light mod with relays as in the article on this web site. Have a couple holes in my welded bumper for fog lights (6").

1st gen gasser
You guys aware of any drastic problems these rigs have? I had a 1985 with the 360 and it went 280,000 miles before I sold it and I still see it running around. Only thing that I did was transmission rebuild. 727. Heads never even removed. I had a dodge boogie van that had the 318. Crazy good motor with ZIP.

1st gen gasser
Yes, has carburetor. Thinking about stripping all the emissions stuff off down to and old school 318. Has an air pump.

1st gen gasser
We bought a 1990 extended cab short bed gas (318) truck for $1,400. Automatic transmission, air conditioning. Nice little "farm" rig. We're going to paint it the old forest service green and spray in a bed liner. My wife is a forest service brat. Her dad was a ranger and smokey the bear.

Needed a spot for my cellphone...
That's where I put my backup camera. Looks good.
-
Bad Starter...?
That's cause they shut those trucks off at each stop. Surprised they don't use gas rigs.

Shirts?
I'd buy a 3xl tee and hoodie.
