  1. Update...got the backups camera installed. Works awesome! Got my trailer hooked up first shot. Ended up doing all wiring behind the taillight. Stays dry there for the tapping in of wires. Ran a stub wire into the bed area for running to the back up light on top of the canopy. Went really well!
  2. Multiple factors...vetting process caused a bottleneck. Lots of folks couldn't get through. Plus Obama supporters don't work plus they bus them in. Everyone that came for trump did so on their own dime and time. Trump is slamming isis. Old Mad Dog not screwing around. They don't have to like us...just respect us.
  3. Problem is inventory. S,m,l,xl,xxl, xxxl. 6 sizes. You could just do large and extra large, but they won't fit me...3x for me. Hats are one size fits all. I've got a kid here that does some kind of heat transfer and can do onesies, but he charges like $10 a shirt for one color. They hold up good too.
  4. Landscape used to be good...30 years ago we were getting $35 per hour. Today, that if you're lucky. Illegals have slowly diluted the wages. Between that and my tired, old body...I give up. I used to make $100k a year. Now I'm lucky to hit $35k. If not for health insurance I'd retire. No debt, house free and clear.
  5. Passed my Oregon state real estate exams today. Going to be selling real estate here soon. Should be licensed by the end of the month. After 30 years of landscaping, my body is toast. I'm not 65 yet and need to be working to afford health insurance. So a new phase of life for me.
  6. How far of a drive is it to Boise for you?
  7. Mopar Mom looks good and is sporting her Destination tee shirt...way to go!
  8. I ran hot and ground 8 gauge wires into the bed a few years ago for a bed mounted sprayer that now resides on a trailer. So I think I'm covered. Direct from battery terminals with a 25 amp fuse on the hot side. So now wiring with a relay will be a snap under the canopy. Still need to tap into hot and ground wires behind tail light for the backup camera. So only issue left is getting these wires from there to the licensce plate area for backup camera. Not sure if there are any holes in the tail light bucket area to fish wires, but I'll play that by ear when I'm there. Cant tell you how many times I've back up to trailers over the years blind and had to hop in and out of the cab to get lined up. Probably hundreds. This is going to be sweet. Plus having a light up high on the canopy that comes on when in reverse to be able to see the trailers while backing in dark!!!?
  9. Thanks! I'm going to run the conduit so it's easily accessible under the dash and run it up to the master cylinder area. ? Hope to find a spot to drill a new hole in the firewall.
  10. Can someone tell me the maximum dimension needed to get the wiring harness through the firewall? I am going to install a chase through that allows for current and future runs through with ease. Maybe flexible electrical conduit. Long enough to poke easily and catch the end easily too on the other side.
  11. I got them off eBay cheap! Could check there.
  12. Pretty much shoots 3 days a week! Sorry man! Will insurance cover medical transport? That'd be sweet! Prayers coming!
  13. Is grounding to the bed acceptable?
  14. Looking like tapping into the tail light assembly might be easier...just remove assembly with 2 screws and all is accessible and a more dry location to make a cross connection. Looks like I can tap both positive and negative there with ease. Do you think the wires/curcut can handle running the auxiliary reverse lamp without doing a relay? Lamp was mounted on the canopy when I bought it. It doesn't appear to be a high power unit? Won't ever be run for very long. I'll put a kill switch inside the canopy so I can eliminate it from coming on as necessary. Like when I'm in the woods and backing up long distances on logging roads that dead end. Also, I've never understood why some vehicles put switches on the negative side and others use the positive side?? Maybe negative side is easier due to being able to only run one wire and switch just supplies ground when activated?
  15. I ran a big 8 gauge wire to the trailer plug. Can I run a relay from the reverse wire to trigger the relay and power it with the big charge wire I ran?
  16. So, violet with a black stripe? Thanks!
  17. Anyone know the colors of wires I'm looking for? I'm hooking up a backup camera and a backup light on my canopy. What's the wire color going to the trailer plug that's reverse lights? Is there a better place to tap than the wires going to the trailer plug? Tap connector and liquid electrical tape to make the connection?
  18. Most animals are good with the cold as long as they live outside. It's when they live inside and out that you have problems. But sounds like you go his feet figured out. Good!
  19. We want to be like Europe. Why do we want to be different here? They seem to have all the answers. NOT.
  20. I also replaced both of my headlight assemblies with Eagle Eyes. I'm very pleased with them. I'm upgrading to auxiliary driving and fog lights with the mod article here on the site. My original lights were damaged in an accident.
  21. Time to bring back the discussion about your fuel tank access through the bed!
  22. This is awesome info! Thanks!!! Stock wheels/tires 2 gen...265/75-16 3rd gen 265/70-17. Overall tire diameter and width the same on both. So just a little more rim and less rubber. But does allow for needed rotor/caliper clearance. Mike is spot on if you have an exhaust brake like he does. For us automatic transmission owners the exhaust brake is not realistic. So the additional braking potential is desirable. Stock wheels/tires 2 gen...265/75-16 3rd gen 265/70-17. Overall tire diameter and width the same on both. So just a little more rim and less rubber. 23. I've already got the 17" 3rd gen wheel and tires. Doubt I'd add much more weight than I already have. Recently put new studded winter tires on. Snowing now. Don't look like a fool now. Lol. I replaced my pads and rebuilt front calipers recently, but I didn't address rotors (which need to be replaced). So being the cheap @$$ I am I thought I'd look for some core returned 3rd gen calipers. Rebuild them, get the 3rd gen rotors and caliper hangers. Do the front for now, as the rears have had new rotors done a while back. Do the 3rd gen rears work like the 2nd gen? Little drums for parking brakes? Are the 2nd and 3rd gen parking shoes the same? Parking brake cables same?
  24. I want to go to 3rd gen brakes on my truck. I've gotten pretty good at rebuild calipers. Wondering about getting some used calipers for the price of core charge.
  25. I like the go/no go sets.
