  1. By "it" you're referring to the Luke's link mod? Do you have to remove the trac bar when you remove the pumpkin cover for fluid change of the front axle?
  2. Makes me want to do the hole in the bed mod. I found it a pain to drop the tank while laying on the gravel.
  3. I've not seen the instructions for Luke's link. Do you actually have to deform the pumpkin cover to get adequate clearance for the track bar? Sounds prehistoric.
  4. Death and divorse seem to bring out the worst in people. Both situations have plagued my family. There are a couple in my family who seem to think mom and dad's money is their only salvation. We've lived as though we won't get any of it. Won't get upset if they end up with all of oarents money. It will be gone before long and we will still be plugging along as usual. We own out home and two rental properties. They seem to think we live charmed lives. Lol. No cable tv, just got our first flat screen tv. Don't buy new vehicles. Wife clips coupons. Heat with wood we cut. Etc..
  5. May be a bit off topic, but is it normal to see about a 2# difference in pressure from full to when the low fuel light comes on? I know from water hydraulics that water level in a well for instance will make a difference.
  6. My buddy has a cheap solar panel on his camper. It definitely helps on week long hunting trips. But you'll still need to be conservative with power or have a generator for periodic top off of batteries. $139 for that big 3 panel solar system? Includes the power management unit pictures?
  7. I'd contact Vulcan and talk to Eric about this. They sell the modules with draw straw included. I bet there is no baffles in the tank. Someone needs to send Michael a fuel tank for disassembly. Lol.
  8. Yeah, I've seen vehicles going down the road like a crab.
  9. Great to hear its over! She will need support now to help her feel like she's got her life back. Don't let her feel like a victim for too long. Gotta build up her confidence and self reliance. I'll pray for her. Whether or not she's a Christian, god does answer prayers in hopes of changing lives for eternity.
  10. Not sure how to tell ya to fix it, but in my experience with dim lights it's almost always a ground issue.
  11. No wonder road hunting doesn't work. Gotta take off the deer whistle.
  12. Boy, ain't that the truth!!!
  13. What is that fitting originally for? The one next to the map sensor.
  14. Is the 40psi gauge enough? I'd rather have the gauge use it's full range of motion than have to stare at a 100 psi gauge and figure out where it's at.
  15. Thanks. Yes, I agree that removing the horn and drill/tap in the shop seems the safest way to go. Thanks for the link. That's an easy one!
  16. I want to install a boost gauge on a stock truck. Wish to be able to know if I've got a boost leak and have a starting point for other mods. I have Isspro gauges currently and want to match. Looks like they are pretty cheap, so I want to install one. This will help to evaluate if I need new boost elbows, etc. My gut feeling is that my boost is not providing all it should. Seems easier to install a gauge than to build a boost testing unit. Although that would be cool too. Can't find that article or thread. Where does the boost gauge get tapped into the boost system for reading?
  17. Cheapest bandaid is keep filling with water, but watch freezing temps. Plug in at night when freezing.
  18. I've had my eye on the blue digital gauge here. Anyone know of an overhead console gauge pod for mounting? http://www.digital-auto-gauges.com/products/Auto-Thermometer-Gauge-for-Trucks-and-Cars.html
  19. It's only $800 a month for 60 months with zero % financing.
  20. Good solution and much cheaper than I'd a figured. I always like the cheapest solution with a clear path. These 3 motors look like the path I'd be on. Maybe able to sell some parts off the motor to offset final cost.
  21. The classic argument between ranchers and common folk. Here in Oregon land owners get preference tags. X number per Y acres. That tries to address the landowner issue. Here we have worse issues. Wolves are federally protected and ranchers are not allowed to shoot a wolf even if he sees it eating livestock.
  22. My buddy has 1000 miles now. Only getting 9-10 mpg pulling 23' toy hauler. Will this improve significantly?
  23. This guy must be sick, as it sounds he was unaware of the cracked blick when he bought it. Sad. When I bought mine, I would not have been savy enough to know either. I got lucky.
  24. That's like saying don't put so much money into a cummins. Just go out and buy a yugo. We put a lot of time into hunting. It's time well spent. But no question you could buy store bought cheaper. But you gotta do something besides work. The camping, commerodity is important too.
  25. Seems I've read about welding blocks before. But probably would have to pull it to get access. Why would it crack like that and not push the freeze plugs out?
