  1. Hey,Kinda sounds like a head gasket is leaking on you. Has it been losing antifreeze and you can't find a leak?:shrug:Good-Luck,Winslow
  2. Hey,Looks very nice man!!!! I want you to come repair all the dents on my truck.... But they are steel... Well thin steel!!:lmao:Later,Winslow
  3. Hey,Not too bad, but mine is better!!! J/k man!!!:tongue:I'll try to post up a picture of it later if I remember to take it. I've built several of them so I needed an easy to read diagram to follow!:lol:Later,Winslow
  4. Hey,First you're going to have to locate the brain of the alarm and then chase all the wires through the truck to uninstall it. It is going to be a pain but can be done. I've got an alarm to install in mine and I'll tell you, there is A LOT of wires on them!!!!!!:ahhh:Good-Luck,Winslow
  5. Hey,That sounds like what mine did when the VP went out.... Twice!! No codes, just hard starting, then just no start!:cry:Check for air leaks first, but I would try to plan for a VP. Maybe you'll luck out and be something easy, I'll keep you in my thoughts!:thumbup2:Later,Winslow

The mud runs are going on right now as far as I know and the truck pulls will start at 7pm!! I'm going down to the pulls later today so feel free to come up and say hi!!:thumbup2:Later,Winslow
  9. Hey Kansas members,Just wanting to see if there are anyone else from Kansas on here??? I don't see any post so I thought I would be the first since I'm the Kansas Cummins Crew Vice President. We need to get some activity going on guys so lets hear some shouts!!!!!!:hyper:Later,Winslow
  10. Hey, My worry would be the computer thinking it is too cold and throwing a code. Not sure if it would or not, but that would most likely show a pretty cold temp! Later, Winslow
  11. Hey, I understand about the wires, you'll still have wires under the hood that will have to go to the sensors. That's just my thoughts, that's all. I don't have to "pick an idle mode". I just leave the center switch up which is 6 cylinder or if I want 3 cly, I flip the switch down. Pretty simple I thought? All my wires are contained in the two harnesses and are heat shrink wrapped for cleanliness and ease of installation/ removal. It isn't too hard to run them through the firewall, essp. with the bullet connectors left off until inside the truck. Yeah I didn't figure you would put the relays inside the cab, but you would have to have them under the hood and I don't like any more clutter than we've already got. Mounted down by the ECM would be okay, but it would be a PITA to install/ remove imo!! And thanks for the compliments on mine; I'm trying to market them for sale as of right now. Just so you know, I'm not trying to bash your set-up, just provide some constructive criticism about it!! Mine inside the cab: Thanks, Winslow
  12. Hey, That would probably work, but you would have to have the three relays under the hood or somewhere and they aren't the smallest and cleanest to mount up in my opinion. I like having the three switch set-up personally with box mounted under the dash that contains everything and can be disconnected in about a minute. That's my thoughts, but it is a cool idea! In case you don't understand what I mean here is my set-up: Thanks, Winslow
  13. Hey, No, I'm not a rep, but I probably should be!!!! The headlights are pretty new. They are a sport light conversion from DieselAutoPower.com with new harnesses that came with them!! Thanks, Winslow
  14. Hey,I'm very glad I got it fixed. It bothers me when things don't work like they are suppose to. Plus it would have been a PITA if it would have decided to wait until winter when I'm going to school to decided to not work. Glad I found out now and it turned out to be a cheap/ easy fix!!!!!!!!!!!:hyper:Thanks,Winslow
  15. Hey, So I bought a 3M headlight restore kit a while back and decided to give it a try. This was done a little while back, but I'm just now getting around to posting it up!! I was really impressed with the results!!!:blues: Here are some pictures: The kit! Don't you like my custom tool box!! Tools needed: A drill, spray water bottle, and shop towels help! The passenger side is done, the driver's is about ready to be started! Before! First step! During the step! Second step! During the step! Third step! During the step! Fourth step!!! Use this on the last step! Water bottle needed! After!!! Done!! Done!! That's pretty much it. It didn't take long and the instructions are easy to follow. Make sure you use the provided masking tape to tape off anything you don't want sanded!! They gave me plenty for what I was doing and I even used two layers on mine so I don't think you'll have a problem. Of course you can always buy a roll when you pick up the kit at the parts house!! If you have any questions, just let me know as usual!!:blues: Thanks, Winslow
  16. Hey,Yeah mine is a lot different. They probably changed it in 2000 I think when they went to the digital odometer. Or they may have changed it in 98.5 then again later. Hard to say about Dodge!!:lmao:Mine was pretty easy to remove and install. Four screws and a good pull!!!:tease:I just can't believe I overlooked such a simple problem. I even thought about checking the wires, but thought they should be okay!!:stuned:Later,Winslow
  17. Hey,The Carli Coils are suppose to ride really nice and still have the same load rating. They are a progressive spring so after they get weighted to a point, them bottom out against each other and handle the weight. When light they let the truck glide over bumps and such. That's what I want for mine at least!!!!!:hyper:Later,Winslow
  18. Hey,I had the same problem on mine so I added the little Napa hose 7447 and haven't had the problem since!!!!:thumbup2:Later,Winslow
  19. Hey, Got it fixed!!!! It ended up being the two wires that go to the CAD switch got up into the A/C pulley and were cut in two!!!!!!!! So I got out the soldering iron and fixed them. Now it works just like it should and I made sure it will never get up the pulley again! Zip ties!!!!!! I'll post up some pictures after they load up in a bit!! Thanks for all the help, just goes to show make sure you check the simple things first!!!!! Thanks, Winslow --- Update to the previous post... Hey, Here are some pictures: Wires got cut! Stripped! Soldered! Heat shrink! Covered! Zip ties! Works for me! Done! Tools! More tools!! Back side of mine! Rare view inside! Thanks, Winslow
  20. Hey,Yeah it was really really too easy to remove!!:lmao2:We are just right now checking to see if we get continuity through the LED. I've checked for voltage at the plug on the CAD and nothing there... Haven't chased wires but we get continuity from a ground to either one of the plugs. That's what the service manual says to check. I've tried across the plug and I don't think I got anything. But going from what the service manual says, I'm suppose to check plug C2... and tab 10... which ever one that is!:ahhh:Thanks,Winslow
  21. Hey, Just pulled mine. It wasn't hard at all!! Just no luck on the 4wd yet though..... I've got pictures of the cluster if needed! Thanks, Winslow
  22. Hey, Alright guys yesterday I noticed the indicator light wasn't working on my truck. It goes into 4wd but I don't get a light on the dash. I've pulled the switch and tested it and seems to be okay. I've tested for continuity in the harness and some to be fine there. I've done what the Dodge book says to do and haven't gotten a light yet. I've tried to jump the plug across and I still don't get a light. Any ideas?? Should I pull the cluster and see what is going on behind there?? Is the light a bulb or LED? The Dodge book says it is a LED, but I'm not sure?? It has been a while since I've had a cluster out on one of these so I can't remember how big of a deal it is to pull or if I'll be able to figure anything out if I do!! Thanks, Winslow --- Update to the previous post... Hey, Also I should add that I've just pulled the cluster. It is a LED so no hope on a bulb being burned out. Right now we are trying to figure out which tab on the harness is for the 4wd. The service manual is a PITA!!!!:banghead: Thanks, Winslow
  23. Hey, That's true, it would be better overall I think. Just extra cost!! Later, Winslow
  24. Hey,Thanks man! Looks like we need a few tools first to do it. I wonder if you person could just turn the engine with the alternator nut or if the barring tool would be much easier??:shrug:Look like we need the socket, the gauge holder, and maybe the barring tool. Not too bad just too bad we are both broke!!!!:lmao2:Later,Winslow
  25. Hey guys,I'm going to help a friend on his '98 12v to adjust the timing. I haven't messed with 12v Cummins too much and never adjusted the timing. I was wondering is there is a guide to it anywhere and pictures would be great too???:ahhh:Also what, if any, tools are required?? Any special tools that are Cummins tools or anything?? I've got a dial indicator so that isn't a problem but wasn't sure what else is needed???:shrug:Thanks,Winslow
