  1. Good one. Fowarded it to my dad on the east coast, in CT, AKA anti gun capitol
  2. Black Rock Yuma 16x8s, aluminum, 4.5" backspacing. I think I paid just over $500 for them
  3. craigslist has worked great for me
  4. Ya, that whole washing thing is risky business. These are supposed to be better at filtering than K&N, a slightly different material filter media. It's not a turbo, so less suction through the filter, but in general do aftermarket cotton filters dust the engine, more than paper? Yes it's oiled. On all my brothers corvettes and mustangs (years 2001-2013) the air intakes have oiled filters, all aftermarket filters/intakes. They do improve performance, but I'm guessing that comes at the cost of letting more dust in along with more air? I can read both sides all day on forums and product websites, I was just wondering if anyone had any real world experience with them.
  5. Anyone use one of these? I'm finally getting a functional company vehicle for jobsites! My 2010 impala is going wayside and I'm getting a 2013 chevy 1500, 5.3 v8. I ordered a drop in replacement air filter to give it a try. http://www.greenfilterusa.com/
  6. I was told once upon a time to get OE ones only, as the HD ones are known to squeal. I used a mopar one with no squeals. Can't say from personal experience about the HD ones though.
  7. When my mechanic checked mine, he said the front driver's sensor was bad. I replaced it, light still on. Then I replaced the passenger's, then rear, light still. Checked connections, wiring, all good. Then a different mechanic ran his $10,000 snap on reader for free, the ABS module kept cycling and he said it was the ABS control module. I get it replaced and vin coded this Friday, I'll report my findings. Also, when I replaced my rear diff sensor with an O-Reilly's unit, it was defective and my speedo would come and go intermittently. Then I ordered the OE part from Rock Auto, and the speedo is all good. As 98whitelighting said, it may or may not have something to do with the p-pump conversion. Are there any other symptoms other than loss of speedo and abs/light on? When I replaced the front hub on my 2003 hemi, there was too much grease in the unit the sensor would think the brakes are locking up and my ABS would go off. I had to take the sensor out and pick some of the grease off the teeth and it cleared up.
  8. Rear diff sensor got my speedo back. Oem only, oriellys one failed. abs light is most likely the control module. Have a mechanic check it with the snap on reader and if it cycles on and off then it's bad
  9. Mmm yes, retorque after a couple hundred miles
  10. Ohhhh ya! Great sound! Nice turbo whistle....does anyone else think it's weird that a lot of us are obsessed with 15 year old trucks?
  11. I was doing some rust maintenance in the rear, painted the axle, removed the 9/16" u bolts and brackets, blasted and powder coated them and installed new 5/8" skyjacker u bolts. Torqued in a criss cross pattern according to the link below, snug, then 40 ft-lbs, then 80, then 110. How much do these bolts stretch? Once I hit final torque on the first 2 nuts, the next 2 nuts hit torque sooner than the first 2. Then when I checked the torque on all the nuts they turned a little more before the wrench clicked. Is this normal, it was my first time doing u bolts. http://www.suspensionspecialists.com/techinfo/Ubolt_Information.pdf

  13. Craigslist, get a used set of stock injectors for a core. That's what I did with my second set of injectors, only paid $50.
  14. Genuine bosch bodies. What turbo do you have? HY35? That is going to be your limiting factor unless you upgrade your turbo. HY35 can't handle injectors and the edge comp. Get Bosch RV275s, and if you want more power down the road just swap out the nozzles
  15. I'm finally getting my ABS module replaced and getting rid of the abs brake light being on. Do I need to disconnect my Comp for the dealer to reflash/vin code the ABS module?
  16. From this... to this! The pictures make it look better than it is. There is some texture/orange peel going on, I didn't wet sand anything. But, better than it was.
  17. My truck goes into the dealer next friday to get a used ABS control module installed. $400 for used, $1100 for new! Ridiculous! Ohh and $150 for labor. They quoted me $500 for a new unit 5 months ago...
  18. Primed, painted and cleared. Doesn't match that well but it's better than bare metal. Have to let it set up for a while then I'll buff it and try to blend it.
  19. Thanks guys, I think I'll have the dealer do this drain and refill
  20. My girlfriend has a 2011 Subaru Outback with the CVT, and it just passed 60,000 miles. According to the manual, this is a service free unit and the fluid does not need to be drained and refilled...BS. Should I drain and refill with Subaru CVT fluid or trust the manual? The dealer also said the tranny fluid was lifetime about my dad's Saturn Outlook and when the tranny started slipping at 140,000 miles with the original fluid, I drained it and it was black!
  21. Really?! That sounds fantastic! Who did you get them from? Part number?
  22. I had to cut my MBRP exhaust in one section. I forget if it was 3/4" or an 1.5", but after the cut the hangers lined up much better. Chopsaw with a metal blade is the cleanest way.
  23. Ditto, sawsall, at least 2 cuts
  24. I think the 4.5" backspacing on the rim put the back of the rim closer to the caliper
