Anyone use PEAK fluids?
Toyota doesn't have a removable diff cover so they have to. Toyota have the 3rd member pop out and you can do gears on the bench vs in the axle.

You should have no issues at 10K with that combo. Yes startup wear is hard on things and one of the reasons I like synthetics and Amsoil. The other big benefit to synthetics is the high temperature performance. The sump capacity on our engines is the smallest for the 5.9/6.7 applications and pickup use is harder on oil than many other applications so when towing heavy with added hp the high temp stability of synthetics is a big plus.

Yes they are. There are currently only 2 tires made in LT255/80R17. These S/T Maxx's and the BFG KM2's I just took off.

cSt at 100°C should be very close as they are both 40 weight oils when hot. T6 is rated at 14.2 and AME at 14.5... Seems about right on the UOA. At 40°C the T6 is 87 to AME's 98.4 so we are starting to see the 5w vs 15w spread. Because they are a 5w vs a 15w the cold tests are 10° C off, but at -30°C the T6 is a bit thicker than the AME at -20°C. The pour point on the T6 is 2°C colder than the AME at -40°C. Both will do well in the subzero temps. 15w conventional oil will not do well subzero.

Day got away from me but here are some dusk teasers. So far I am liking the look and feel of this tire. They will get some back county abuse before too long.

Very similar report. Take a look at the Fleetguard test angus just started a thread about then look at my OAI test.... They are identical, not the results but the test. Fleetguard appears to contract thru OAI. Yes Amsoil AME CI-4+ 15w-40.

Looks real good to me. The silver is probably nothing. You could probably run it out to 10K miles without an issue.

Did you post a copy of it? I did a quick look and didn't see it. Which numbers? The standards are in your pic in post #107.

Virgin Oil Analysis Used Oil Analysis It doesn't. Look at the 5 gallon pail. Like Vais said, something doesn't add up with this oil.

No I don't have a VOA of the AME.

When my motor was rebuilt I used Premium Blue for the first 3 oil changes as cheap oil. I picked it up on sale cheaper than Delo.

I also switched to LT tires on my TT. It was nice doing 72-73 over the weekend and not thinking twice about it.

If I wanted a cheap dino oil then sure. Cummins CES 20081 is CJ-4 Cat ECF-3 is CJ-4 Detroit 93K218 is CJ-4 etc..

Correct a true ST tire doesn't have a load index or speed rating on the sidewall, but rather a max weight @ max pressure and nothing about the 65 mph limit. Goodyear Marathons may be ran between 66-75 if the pressure is increased 10 psi, and 10 psi above sidewall max pressure is permissible. I did several trips above 70 mph on my marathons with added pressure and never lost one on a paved road, only rock punctures on back roads.

The new tires are on and the truck is very smooth and quiet. I had couteract balance beads put in, same as my 19.5's, and the tires don't feel like an aggressive tread at all up to 75. The new tires have a date stamp of 3315 which means they are only about 7 weeks out of manufacturing which isn't bad at all.

Which is probably true, but why does it have a CJ-4 spec on the label? That's not the only place it says it meets CJ-4 thou. Each one of the manufacturer specific requirements listed below is CJ-4 oil and that is a bit more than a quick typo.

They crossed off the CJ-4, but all the specs below indicate CJ-4. That's not a sales rep mistake, unless the sales rep mistake was the Mobil data sheet cross reference.

That's the problem. CI-4 ash with a CJ spec... that could lead to $$$ for the oil company in plugged DPF's.

What they said and what the oil is packaged in are two very different things... so I guess time will tell.
-

No it probably wont; however, one does has to consider that all the spec's on the bucket are for CJ oil. It could be a CJ oil with a ZDDP additive; however, one has to go back to the TBN too. I would really like to see the ash. The discrepancy on the bucket is enough to make me wonder WTF it is.
-
New CJ-4 oils in older Flat Tappet Engine
It looks like CI-4 but without actual ash it is probably impossible to tell.

Yeah Japan is good but I won't run China tires on the truck and was very cautious with the China tires on the trailer.

After trying blackstone and one other company in Spokane I am using OAI. OAI is also who Rocky Mountain Cummins reccommends.

I have never seen a blackstone report give much of anything for soot readings when reports of the same oil show soot with other companies. I also don't like the added charge for TBN that blackstone has. I have only talked with reps a couple time but the blackstone reps seemed to be reading a script vs being actually knowledgable.
