Can we talk, or is it allowed to post about Obama Care?... couple Questions.....
..... well for some background I have no real world experience with the military - but I have the same discussions with my dad who retired Sergeant Major (marines) and served in Vietnam, 3 purple hearts. I read the above as .. "its ok to go to war if it means we are better off and secure our future" "its not ok to spend money on illegals who cross our borders and the lazy people riding the system" Don't get me wrong - I work hard and pay taxes. I just have a different thought process. Id quite easily tomorrow give up half my net worth if it meant more people live a balanced life. Id still work hard and still try and do the most I can with what I have - but generally I feel I don't do enough in this life for other people who aren't as fortunate (legal or illegal) so if I can contribute more in taxes or do other things to help support that - Id rather do it than go to war at huge financial and personal loss. Also -I'm not naive, I know what previous wars have given in terms of security and wealth - but if we can no longer stand on our own feet and ingenuity to prosper - maybe its time for someone else to drive for a while Its a real hard discussion and lots of pros/cons ........ I just hate seeing people I know personally struggle for health insurance and the health of their kids (hard working people here ) .... when other countries I have lived in offer FREE healthcare ..... So to me the question I think should be asked is ..... Why do we HAVE to go to war to feel this way. And why CANT we afford free healthcare to citizens/workers even with it...

I'm not necessarily a pro Obama .... But why the focus on Obama care when there are still 2 outstanding wars in the middle east costing over 1.3 trillion and killing American soldiers ...... Going on the beach
Thanks guys. Sad it wont be going on the beach for a while now - might go back to OBX during SEP/OCT when the housing rates drop very low due to off season - otherwise will be hanging around blossvale NY for the next 4-8 weeks. Not much luck with the fish either but had a blast !! Thats really cool with the diving Russ. I do a bit of diving from time to time - but mainly back in australia for crayfish or when on holidays - well have to chat about that sometime back in the caht rooms whenever it gets going again !! Loving the new tires, the tint and the twins. Have some sac 7x.010 injectors in a box here also - around 150HP instead of my 75 HP ones. Plan on running those wtih the edge turned down most of time (instead of on 6) ........... and when I want more power turn it up and hope the tranny holds.

You can straighten an axle ? How to tell if bent there is a little flex but didn't seem extreme ..., Would a pic help ? Or it wont be that extreme ?

Leaf springs Guess I can get the single wheel up fine with my bottle jack to check bearings .... Just 12-6 and 9-3 test right looking for play ?

Yeah but as its both axles on opposite sides not sure it's bent ... Might be sitting wrong Probably have to take to a camping world or something with multiple large enough jacks

ok - didnt get you all the info clearly as I was driving dealing with that today. Actually I replaced the RH front tire with the spare as it was almost bald down to the wire - thats the 2nd pic above (my spare). Didn't get the spare replaced/fixed - not sure why now Then today I came over the hill around 60mph and felt just something out of whack - looked in rear view saw a cloud of black smoke thought my turbo had gone. Pulled over quick and realized it was my tire. This time it was the diagonal opposite. The left hand REAR.So the pics you have above are 1) Blown left hand rear tire 2) The spare I had from replaciing the front right side tire 3-4 weeks previous. So both diagonals were worn on inside edge.:shrug:Anyway got it all fixed - $300 for 2 new tires and back on road in under 2 hours and glad my truck turbo and engine all ok Still taking the big hills at 55-65 in OD and passing all the trucks but now not downshifting almost ever and engine temps under 200 and EGT between 1000-1220 on biggest pulls.

Yea Mike... Not speed believe it or not... Bald tires... I know, I know... Back on the road though. At least it wasn't my turbo which is what I initially thought with all the black smoke:-)

Sitting at turnpike near mile marker 94 on route 476 pa on our way to ny Big puff of black smoke thought it was my turbo ..,, but was my trailer tire ... Oh .. And here's my spare Haha live and learn - stupid Aussie

No - just pull to side. IF you have to or want to its simple - just get underneath and screw the downpipe part away then puu front top engin part off Goes back together same way - around 5 minutes each way

Temp fluctuation
Depends if its just to replace head. else Studs Port job if you can afford it. Its the time to do it. Magnuflux and check of head for cracks and decked if required. Gasket Clean block with razor etc Tap the stud holes since you have head off. 1 question tho - what happens if you do all that and its not the head - are you going to be bumbed ??

Its amazing what age and perspective do your your thought process.Anyway - I just think its a bit sad for current generation what they are walking into. The world has changed - at least for the next 5-10 years. If your in the wrong field and dont have specific skills - your doomed to the choice of manual labor that you cant support a family on - or to go start your own business. Thats not a great option for a lot of people.Its become not what you know but who you know.As for being lazy - dont know - I know my parents called "us" lazy. We probably were and they were probably lazy to their parents. More options and more education meant you didnt want to settle for what was done before. Can appear lazy. Eventually I worked out to support my family and do what I wanted I HAD to work. So now I generally work as hard as I can an keep my skills current.Just seems different for different people. I was lucky what I fell into turned out to be in demand. Even now. I know PLENTY of hard working people young and old that cant find work due to this corruption in leadership and business that shows no sign of abating.

*shrug* - seems like QUAD tuning to me - just ability to custom tune. It really didnt do much for me when I had it - by that I mean it gets old very quick fiddling with stretch/ timing/duration/tps/fuel rate .... maybe Im missing the point ..

Converter Stopped Locking?
Whatever way you go you need a shift kit/aftermarket VB. Shift kit is cheaper - its DYI. An aftermarket VB is just a shift kit with (usually) a) Upgraded solenoids b) Apply lever at different ratio Theres a full writeup and install on doing shift kit on CF.

wheres this from - I searched ebay and amazon for terminal block - but only finding the non fused screw type - - - Updated - - - Found it called a SIDE TERMINAL BLOCK in ebay

thats a good price - cheapest Ive seen Yeah it sucks for a gasket - only good side is you rarely have to change it - must have had my valve cover off 20 times - same gasket.

As I understand it. TC locks with line pressure and solenoids in your VB. With all that material in your tranny fluid, its condition and especially the filter - who knows what impact to readings for your line pressure and VB. So its a $40 call. Heres the problem I have with you saying the TC not locking. You said the tranny shifted and operated just fine when you bought it and its mainly sit. SO how did the lockup all of a sudden stop - unless its electrical (Mike has a thread on this for alternator) or the condition of the fluid and filter impacting the lockup solenoid. Your simplest solution is to drive to revmax. They have quality parts - I have them. Many trucks with more HP than yours do have also - no issues. They charge less so there warranty is not as good as goerand. But with goerand you pay 1.5x other companies ....... for that warrranty. Its all the same. So lockup is normally electrical (alternator) or lockup solenoid needs replacement (lots of threads on it) comes with upgraded VB.

Way too big for single. Also needs adapter (T4) Thats like a 72/82/14 or 72/82/16 Your wanting closer to a 60/60/9 or 62/65/12 Probably ok/good for a twin setup Wondering if those specs are right - that seems huge for a drift car ???

How long since you last did it ? 3 options 1) Fresh filter and fresh fluid - try and see what happens - might be suprised, might waste $40 2) (1) and install higher pressure VB You need it anyway 3) Go for full rebuild - goerand is expensive but best warranty, performance innvocations/revmax is good for cheaper end - not as great warranty.

Threw one out almost new just 3 weeks ago - couldnt carry it with me in RV .... too many accessories :banghead: EBay and CF (used) is best bet. You'll still pay ~$40
